Beauty Reviews

I always get excited to try a new product out - I get even more excited when it's a total hit!! I've had a few great experiences lately and one not so great one that I thought I'd share - because keeping things to yourself is not what we're about!! Secrets just don't make friends...

Organix Shampoo & Conditioner
OGX offers a wide variety of hair products and I decided to go with the coconut milk shampoo & conditioner. I've been using it for about 2 months and see that my hair is so silky and smooth for at least two days after washing. It's priced at $7.49 at Wallgreen's but if you catch a buy one get one free - it's totally worth it!

Boots Botanics Conditioning Clay Mask
You may remember from this post that this mask was received via the Influencer box. This is one of the best masks I have ever used - you instantly feel your skin tightening. I have been hearing great things about the GlamGlow mask and the reviews are very similar to the results you get from the Boot's Clay Mask  for a fraction of the price. I've noticed that my make-up goes on smoother and my skin is so radiant after use (I use the mask once a week). Definitely purchasing after I run out!

Urban Decay Setting Spray
Ok - I know I'm a little late to the party on this one - but this is the best!!! Thanks so much to Katie for the recommendation. I opted for the 1 oz. bottle vs. the 4 oz. because how often do I really need my make-up to stay on for longer than 16 hours?! Also, the benefit to the 1 oz. is that you can have it in your carry-on versus having to check it! If you're not 100% ready to pull the trigger - try the 1 oz. because it's only $14!! You won't regret it!

Now onto the not so great!

Maybelline Define-A-Line Eye Liner
I had really high hopes for this - but sadly it just fell short for me. The photo on the right shows the smudge with just a little swipe for my finger. It claims to have "all day wear" but at the end of the day I ended up looking like a raccoon which is not the look I'm going for!! This is going to be a pass for me…so much so, that I actually threw it away!

Do you have any products that you were excited to try, but just wasn't that great? Anything you care to share that is a must buy for you?

Thanks so much for reading!!

xo,
Biana

  1. Hey I love organics coconut milk shampoo! I Switch mine often but that's one of my favorites. They also make a coconut water one now. I'd like to try it. Iv'e bought that maybelline eyeliner before and while the color was pretty it did not stay on whatsoever. It was ridiculous. I ended up throwing it out.

  3. Bad eyeliners are the worst because they can really be such a fiasco! I'm pretty sure I've tried that one before & also hated it! I've always wondered about the botanics line-- glad to hear you like that mask!

  10. I secretly love hearing makeup fails as much as success is that weird? That eyeliner ugh I can only imagine what it would look like after a workout session. I will say the maybelline thin black liquid liner is really great and stays on well. I'll take a pic and send you which one it is ;-) xoxoxo

  11. I'm going to have to try that UD spray! I've always wondered if it really worked or not! So sad about that eyeliner. There is nothing worse than looking like a raccoon at the end of the day! I swear sometimes I get home and I'm like "Wait, how long have I looked like this??" Haha!

  12. I'm so glad you love the UD setting spray! And I totally do the same thing.. I like to buy the smaller sizes at first because it's so much easier to travel with them! Not that I travel all THAT much but it's just more convenient if I have to haha. And I looove Glamglow but hate the price so I'll definitely be trying the Botanics mask.. do you buy it online?

  22. Ok - I'm so confused now. Another blogger reviewed that coconut milk wash & rinse and rated it....which blew my mind because it sounds amazeballs! I literally skipped on buying it because of her. I think I'm gonna have to give it a try now.
Also, I love hearing about shit makeup. Saves me from wasting time and money trying it.
