Wedding Wednesday | Getting Ready & Group Shots

I think I’ve mentioned a few times how sad I am that I wasn’t blogging while planning our wedding. It was seriously the best time in my life (to date) and overall a very calm and perfect experience. I planned a “destination” wedding of sorts – since I was living in Boston and planning a wedding that had three different events taking place all over Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville. Having vendors that you trust was key and one of my favorite vendors (if not the best) was our wedding photographers!! You’ve seen snippets of wedding photos here and there and they were all done by the wonderful and talented Gwen Tundermann and her husband. They are a great team and were with us until the very end, over 12+ hours of photographs – which makes narrowing down these even harder!!

(Warning Photo Overload here)

The day of the wedding we got our hair and make-up done at Cortello Salon in Jacksonville Beach. We had the entire right side of salon to ourselves and 4 different stylists working on us. Some people may think I was crazy for doing my own make-up (my sister helped with it too) but I wanted to make sure I looked like me – just a little more done up and I was very happy with the final result! I do wish I had done fake lashes – but was too scared with all the crying I was going to do that they would come off.

There was never any question that we wouldn’t do a first look. Both Gary and I were very adamant about enjoying our reception!! All our photos with the wedding party were taken before and then the only photos left to do after the ceremony were of extended family!! It worked for us and I don’t think the moment could have been captured any better! The look on Gary’s face and his first words to me on our wedding day, I will never forget!

I was really terrified of having the “ugly cry” so I tired my best to cover it!

One of my major concerns while planning my wedding was that it would rain – a fear that came to fruition! For that exact fact when choosing a venue I wanted to make sure there were enough options inside to have beautiful photos. Our venue, One Ocean Resort, had so many beautiful locations that served as great backdrops for our photos.

Fun fact: One of the groomsmen took a tumble down the stairs on the way to our rehearsal dinner…and BROKE his foot. We felt awful but he was a total trooper!!

Our entire bridal party including 10 kids!!

Another fun fact – this is actually photoshopped because my DAD photo-bommed the original!!

Phew… That was a lot and I again apologize for the photo overload!! I think that’s the sign of a fantastic photographer – you can’t choose a favorite!!

If you read all of that – Thank you- If you just scrolled through the pictures-Thank you!!

Next week – Ceremony & Reception!
