Fresh Face | Skin Care Products

The first step to flawless make-up is a clean and fresh face!! My skincare routine is pretty minimal and I don’t like to use too many products on my face – no need to overwhelm it and possibly breakout. These are products that work for me and with the exception of the Clairsonic, are very reasonably priced!!

1. We’re all pretty much aware of the Clairsonic and it’s powers at this point. The key in my mind with this – is to not overuse it. I think it can do more harm than good if used too often which is why I tend to stick to twice a week!

2. Along with the Clairsonic I use the Fresh Soy Face Exfoliant. I started using this as a sample I got in one of the 100 point rewards from Sephora and really liked how, for lack of a better word, fresh my face felt after use!

3. The St. Ives Apricot Scrub has been my go-to drug store buy for years!! In my opinion it’s the best facial scrub out there and always keeps the blackheads at bay!! For the price and how long it lasts – you really can’t go wrong!!

4. Another long time favorite is the Ponds Moisturizer. The big bottle lasts me up to 4 months and I apply after the shower and first thing in the morning!! The one I use is for dry skin – but I have very normal skin and it doesn’t cause me to be oily or anything like that.

5. Now that I’m in my late 20’s (ahhh not even sure how that happened) I need to take care of my eyes and ensure that those fine lines and crows feet stay away as long as possible. Origins GinZing Eye Cream certainly lives up to it’s refreshing name and hydrates the eye area really well! The caffeine extracts from coffee beans is said to remove dark circles and perk up your eyes after a long night!!

These are the five items that I swear by along with a face mask here and there. While I’m certainly not an aesthetician – I can speak to these products and the results I’ve garnered from them. Just as important as the products we use maintaing a balanced diet with lots of water is equally important!! You can always “fake” great skin with make-up, but if you’re skin is glowing on it’s own that just means you can use less make-up right?!

It’s your turn – what are your go-to skin care products?

xo,

Biana

Love St Ives apricot scrub! My skincare routine is pretty simple. I use coconut oil to cleanse followed with a little egyptian magic at night. I use it as an eye cream also. It works really well. My eyes have been looking so refreshed every morning since I started, I also like Oil of Olay CC eye cream. I use that one in the morning. XO

Yeah I'll be trying the Origins Starting Over age erasing eye cream, that I found on their website haha. You're smart to start using that stuff while you are still in your 20s, I wish that I did! :-/ Looking forward to your weekending posts too! πŸ™‚

Oh, I love that idea for a linkup! If I share my week I usually do it in my Thursday or Friday post but maybe I will start switching it up! I swear by my clarisonic, but you're totally right on not overusing it. I'm still working through a deluxe sample I have of that eye cream and think I'll end up buying the full size when I'm done because it feels so nice and non-greasy! Do you use a night eye cream as well?

Great post!! Love my Clarisonic. You are so right the key is not to over use it. I tried the Fresh soy cleanser but couldn't get past the smell. I thought it worked well but the smell made my tummy turn. ha! Truth be told, I use the St. Ives scrub on my feet, it works wonders. Crazy, I know. Happy Hump Day!

I love the apricot scrub! I don't have the clarisonic but I've heard so many good things about it – I'll have to pick it up to see what all the fuss is about!

I used to swear by the apricot scrub, but now I can't find the formula for sensitive skin anywhere! Otherwise, I swear by Aveeno products. I've been using them for years, and my skin always has agreed with them. I probably should get back into using my Clarisonic, and I may try out that Origins eye cream since my Benefit it's Potent! is almost out.

Thanks for the info! I use hardly anything mostly because I don't want to spend the money but these are great affordable options. I remember using the apricot scrub in high school but I never use a scrub now. For moisturizer, I've used Neutrogena FOREVER and still love it πŸ™‚

I've been using Effaclar Duo and it has done WONDERS for my breakouts. Like, I can't even explain to you what a difference it's made. I went from not wanting to go out b/c I felt like a monster (it was mild acne but to someone who wasn't used to breakouts it felt MUCH worse) to having almost perfectly clear skin. At first it dried me out a little, but, I just used a washrag and scrubbed to get the flakes off and it went away. Total godsend!

It is so interesting to me how everyone has their own unique facial process. I actually only use organic products (I love The Organic pharmacy— but it is expensive!), because I have really sensitive skin and I don't want to add too many chemicals etc. to the equation. I have been intrigued by the clarisonic, but haven't bit the bullet. Mostly because I am cared it may be too rough for my face!

Thanks for sharing! To be honest, I've been REALLY bad with having a routine up until last year! I literally never washed my face at night. I only put moisturizer on after a shower. That's it. So now I'm trying to find products and take care of my skin and I've had so many allergic reactions and break outs! It drives me nuts! I've heard so many great things about the clarisonic! I have it written on my wish list! πŸ˜‰
