Weekending | Eat, Drink & Be Happy

Weekending

To say we had a blast this weekend would be an understatement! Before I get into the happenings I’d like to take a moment to wish a Happy belated Father’s Day to my dad (who reads my blog daily)!!

He’s a fantastic man that has managed to give me (and my sister) the world and for that I will be eternally grateful!!

~Eat~

I am happy to report that the risotto I mentioned in Friday’s post was Ah-May-Zing!!! I’ll admit I was a bit scared to make risotto from scratch, but the recipe was easy to follow and the end result was “restaurant worthy fantastic” – direct quote from the man!

+Saturday night our friends introduced us to Casa Romero, an authentic Mexican restaurant nestled into a side street between Newbury & Commonwealth. It’s been a Boston staple for over 40 years and once you step in through the doors you feel transported!!

+Sunday brunch took us to Clery’s! I had the lobster quesadilla’s (sans tortilla and just had the filling) and while I totally didn’t get a picture of Gary’s dish…let’s just say it included some tater tots! Clery’s holds a pretty special place in my heart since it’s where we had our first date and also where we ate before Gary proposed!!

~Drink~

Friday after work called for some drinks at City Bar.  Located inside the Lenox Hotel, this cozy little spot has some of the best drinks in the city – including my absolute favorite, the Bellini!

~Be Happy~

Our friends got the cutest pup a few months back and we finally met little Koa and I mean, is she not the cutest thing ever?!

It was puppy love at first sight!!

~Brunching~

After brunch we went to SOWA in the South End. It’s an open air market held every weekend for the entire summer.

I came pretty close to buying some of these cute pillows! I also found a pretty fantastic fashion illustratorthat showed great custom work!! Now to find a reason to get another illustration…

Sunday night was capped off with some fresh cherries from the market!

How was your weekend?!

hello Biana! first time linking up with you. Wow what a great weekend you had! the pup is adorable, i love risotto but never had the guts to try making it at home. i always think of gordon ramsay in hell's kitchen when i hear "risotto" lol but it's one of my favorite foods to order out at italian restaurants. isn't it the best when your husband/boyfriend/fiance compliments your meals? it makes me feel so good inside 🙂 have a great one!
