Hi B Loved Boston readers! I'm Brittany and I blog over at Perpetually Daydreaming, a lifestyle blog where I share everything from my life as a newlywed in Indianapolis to my fave beauty products, recipes and more.
This is my first official guest post, so I'm excited to be here and I hope you all like it! Thank you so much for having me Biana!! Since we are in the midst of wedding season I thought I'd round up some ideas on personalized and meaningful gifts for the bride. Reflecting back to around this time last year, these are all things that were either on my wish list (some are even still on my wishlist) or that I was grateful to receive as a bride! These make great engagement or bridal shower gifts or are a great addition to a wedding gift. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about gifting from the registry, but sometimes it's fun to throw in a little something extra special.
Personalized Ring Dish
When I first got engaged, I was scared to death to lose my ring and I had no where to put it when I was cleaning/showering etc. This gift is not only practical, but can be personalized with the bride and groom's name, initials or wedding date. It would be the perfect gift to give your girlfriend after she gets engaged! There are tons of options on etsy, but if you're feeling crafty, you can DIY it too. Here are instructions.
Monogram Desk Accessories
Once a girl gets married, it's like monogram explosion. Must. monogram. everything. and girlfriend is going to be writing a lot of thank you notes so these will definitely come in handy.
Custom Return Address Stamp
A fun addition to the stationery set above is a customized rubber stamp with their married name and address. Again it will save the poor bride-to-be from writing her own return address on each thank you card!
Wire "Mrs." hanger
Because she's going to need something sturdy to hang that 20 lb dress on and it might as well look good in pictures too.
Another great pre-wedding gift is a comfy robe for her to get ready in before her big day! It will make her look put together for her 'getting ready' pictures, but it's still practical. Also, I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have one that says "bride" on it, so I can continue to wear it down the road.
Monogram Door Decor
Again with the monograms. How fun would it be to come home from your honeymoon with your new monogram decorating your front door? Plus, this is something that will be used long after the wedding (or even at the wedding too).
New Name Art Print
Help the couple decorate their new house with a print to commemorate their wedding day.
Personalized Wine Glasses and Coffee Mugs
For our wedding, one of my friends got us a set of personalized wine glasses along with a gift card to a local wine store for our wedding present. We opened them the morning after our wedding and then made ourselves some mimosas and sipped out of the glasses while we finished opening presents. I'm excited to get them out every year and celebrate our anniversary!
Similarly, these are cute little coffee mugs and would go great with a coffee maker if that's on the couple's registry.
Keepsake Family Cookbook
I'm always looking for new recipes and what's better than having the best recipes from all your family and friends. Bonus points if you include a copy of great grandma's original recipe with her handwriting and pictures to go with it. Wouldn't that make for a wonderful keepsake? What are some of your favorite gifts to give to the bride (or receive as a bride)?
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll all stop by and visit me over on my blog!
