Labor Day Weekend

I think we can all agree that three day weekends are the way to go!! There was just enough fun, sun and relaxation to make this a great end to summer - even though it's still in the high 80's here!
I'm really excited for the start of a new month ~ I'm looking forward to setting some new goals for myself and {hopefully} share some on the blog this week! Here's a peak into our weekend!

{See}
We watched two really different but highly recommendable movies this weekend!
Magic in the Moonlight is a classic Woody Allen movie. Dry humor, wacky characters and fantastic acting!
Blended brings Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore back together and it's one of their better movies. It's a cute romantic comedy and worth it to rent at home!

{Explore}
Newport is one of my favorite little escapes from Boston. It's about an hour an half drive and once you get their it's just the most perfect seaside escape. Great for a weekend trip or just a day trip like we did on Saturday.
Sailboats and blue skies as far as the eye can see!
A must in Newport is the cliff walk! Beautiful mansions and ocean views!

{Eat & Drink}
I mentioned Del Frisco's Grille once before and since Gary had never been we decided to head there for dinner on Saturday night! We shared the Cheesesteak Eggrolls & Veal Meatloaf. They were kind enough to split the meatloaf for us, but it was still so big that we ended up taking the second portion home for lunch on Sunday!
One of my favorite things about the weekend is having the time to make some new recipes.
Sunday night we tried a new fish taco recipe and I'm not sure why it took so long to make it! So easy and made even easier by using an already made coleslaw. Also the red sauce is not ketchup, it's a taco sauce!
Monday night I finally made Natalie's Korean Beef bowls and they were amazing!! I substituted the white rice for brow, but aside from that it was spot on!!
Anytime we're near a Wegmans we stock up on some wine and liquor. If you have one near you - run, don't walk and get your self some drinks! Not pictured is an amazing Yellow Tail Moscato that is so delicious and only costs $4.99!!!

{Relax}
Thanks to my friend Heather, we were able to spend our Labor Day in the most relaxing way possible!! On a roof deck with a pool! The perfect end to our summer and long weekend!

If you'd like to link-up, feel free to do so below! The link will be live for the next few days!
I'm also guest posting over at Brittany's blog today - stop by and say hi!
Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and Happy September!

  28. That food looks mouthwatering!! There is nothing better than good food and great company. Your weekend sounds like a blast. It's crazy because I was recently asked what are my top cities that I would move to in the US and my answer was : 1. Portland 2. Seattle 3. Chicago 4. Boston 5. DC. I've only been to Chicago and DC but Boston looks amazing!! I need to plan a trip out there soon.

  49. I agree, 3 day weekends are where it's at!! Wouldn't we all be such nicer, happier people if every week was only 4 days long with an extra weekend day? Those Korean bowls look amazing and I need to try those ASAP!! I love a good fish taco too, but I'm such a weirdo about tortillas...I won't eat them unless they're fresh made, like still hot. ;-) Glad you had such a fun weekend!! I'll post about mine tomorrow and link up (for once...gah I'm so disorganized lately!!) XO
