Wishes + Goals

I’d like to start this post out with birthday wishes to a very important man in my life! Today is my sweet dad’s birthday! Even though it’s not a “milestone” birthday – it’s still a celebration!! Just like every girl, I think my dad is pretty amazing- I’m lucky because to this day he’ll call just to hear my voice. I’m blessed because even at 27, I’m still a his little girl. I’m honored because at 35, he picked up and moved to America for a better life for his family! He taught my sister and I that there are no shortcuts to success and that hard work will always pay off.

Happy birthday to the first man I ever loved & the man who will always put his wife and two daughters ahead of everyone else!! Love you infinity papa!!

{rocking the bangs in 8th grade}

Now I’m switching gears for some September Goals!

At the start of the year, I created a “goal list” if you will, and I’ve tackled the majority of what was on there – so with that being said, I thought I’d create a more clear cut set of goals for myself each month and we’ll see how I do!

1// The Bar Method ladies say that it takes at least 3-4 classes a week to see results in a six week time frame – so my goal for the month of September is to make sure I make it to at least 3 classes, 4 if it’s a really good week! I’ve already paid for these classes, so going should be a high priority!

2// Is anyone else really bad at printing photos out? I feel like with Facebook and Instagram I’ve become so lazy with actual photo albums. My goal is to print out and organize our honeymoon & Euro trip photos.

3// Drink more water. This one is easier said that done – I just need to buy a super cute water bottle and infuse it with some lemons and mint to make it that much more enjoyable!

4// At 27, I’m closer to 30 than 20 now and need to step up my eye care routine. This includes finding a new nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. I’ve been a die hard Ponds Skin Care fan for years and need something to supplement that! Suggestions are welcome and needed!!

5// This one should be fairly easy to knock of the list since we’re just waiting for our wheels for the bar cart to arrive. I hope to have the cart fully stocked and looking pretty by month end!! If only I could find the Sofia mini wines in the state of Massachusetts!!

And let’s not forget…

Are you more of a monthly goal setter or do you like to just go with the flow? Any tips on finding a great eye cream?

xo,

Can't wait to see the finished bar cart! Love that beyonce quote bc it is so true. My fave eye cream is oil of olay cc corrective eye cream. It is awesome and lasts a long time and i use egyptian magic at night and it is amazing!! I'm going to do a fall skincare post soon and I'll tell you more about it! XO

I used to print out pictures on like a weekly basis – the people at Target knew me so well that they gave me the password to the little printing thing. Now? Can't even tell you the last time I printed anything out! But I do have a collection of Shutterfly books so that counts, right? Good luck with your goals!

oh, so much to say about this post.
    1) happy bday to your dad!!

    2) if your skin care routine works for you (ie. ponds cream still works for your skin), don't change it. only change your routine if it's no longer working. all you need is to cleanse your skin, exfoliate once a week and moisturize (and sunscreen!!). that's it. simple is better when it comes to skincare 🙂 you can even use a very light coat of your regular cream as eye cream. you don't need special eye cream for that unless your cream is heavy; then you can think about a lighter eye cream.

    3) instead of printing out and organizing, why not try photo books? those are amazing; it's so elegant. shutterfly often has sales so keep an eye out for that.

I used to be all about printed photos too but haven't done them in years, even though it would be really nice to update my albums and frames! I do a quarterly resolution check-in to keep tabs on my progress…I'm due for my next one at the end of September, so we'll see then how things have been going…

I love this! We all need to do this from time-to-time. To ensure that the hundreds (if not thousands) of pictures I take each year make it into hard copy form, I make a yearly "yearbook" via Blurb at the end of each year. They make for great coffee table books, and then you have them on your bookcase for all the years to come!

Your dad sounds so sweet!! Happy birthday to him! I am SO bad a printing pictures and need to make that a goal of mine too! I switch eye creams a lot, but Olay makes a good one for the price and Roc does too (my dermatologist recommends that.) They have Sofia in cans by the Cape so it has to be in Boston! I'll ask around!

aww happy birthday to your dad! so sweet. i am really good at printing some photos, like 1 or 2 but i'm bad at printing a whole lot because they are a bit expensive when you get like 200 at a time. i am pretty good with my water, i am trying to give up soda though, which is hard for me! love that beyonce quote lol.

Very sweet picture of you and your dad. 🙂 Speaking of Dads, my dad uses Shutterfly to make albums for people all of the time. He's like an expert at it haha. He actually made a photo guest book for our wedding on there. As for eye creams, since you need anti-aging (unlike some of us who started the process too late) and I'd say try the Olay anti-aging eye creams. My mom also says that the Regenerist one is really good. I've also never seen that wine in mini-bottles here, sounds cute though! 🙂

Happy sweet birthday to your dad! He sounds like such an amazing person. Where did he move from? My parents and I moved here from Romania in 1997, my dad was 39 and my mom was 34. So I can relate with picking and moving to America. Your goals are great!! I do agree with drinking more water, it's so good for your skin! I have become obsessed with Shutterfly, I'm in the process of creating a wedding album for my parents 25th wedding anniversary.

Aww what a sweet post to your dad! You have such a beautiful family! 2, 3, & 4 need to be on my list as well! I go through phases with drinking water, and I always feel better when I'm staying hydrated so I don't know why it isn't a habit that just sticks for me! I have like 4 photo books I need to make but I always put off making them because they take so long! I need to find a nighttime eye cream too- I use the Origins ginzing in the am, but skip over something at night.

That picture of you and your dad is so sweet! I love that he calls you just to hear your voice. I wish Barre classes weren't so damn expensive or I'd do them all the time too! I need to get one of those water bottles. All I drink is water but sometimes it gets so boring and bland. Those Sofia wine minis are hard to find. I've seen them at my Target once and should of bought them then because I haven't seen them since!

Most of the time I can get myself to bar at least 3 days a week and that fourth day is taunting me but so hard to achieve. You are right about drinking the water, you just need a cute water bottle. I've never been a huge goal setter but I feel like putting on the blog definitely makes you accountable. You can do it!!

That pic of you and your dad made me tear up a bit. I love reading other people's monthly goals and yours are perfect. Stick with the barre classes and you will totally see results (I love that you've already paid for them-makes it so much easier to stick with a routine). Those water bottles are super cute. I have an infuser and it really does help me drink more water.

I was just looking online for a Pure Barre or Bar Method class near my house. The closest one is 35 minutes away. That stinks. I never print pictures anymore. I have not even made a wedding album and it was three years ago. When my husband and I first started dating I made him this great scrapbook of our first year together. Now I print no pictures at all. I can look at them online, on my phone, etc. That is good enough for me.

I am a skincare freak, so my first piece of advice is to wash your face with a washcloth(it's made the biggest difference for me). Also, splash cold water on your face when you're done washing it. Drink tons of water, and green tea, I do swear by green tea. Also, Cetaphil, basic but I haven't found anything better for my skin.

I love those water bottles, I do get tired of not having any flavor in my water.

    Happy Birthday, Dad!

I really REALLY want to take barre classes at the new studio opening up by my office, but gosh darn they want a butt load of money and I just cant bring myself to pay up. I really want to hear what you think after you have been going. Perhaps a few more people can convince me to pay up!

I love that bar cart. Love love. And I have been trying to find the perfect eye cream for years and still haven't found it. Please let me know if you find a holy grail!

Such sweet photos – Happy Birthday to your dad! I love this post – some of these things are on my mental goal list as well! Lots of trips coming up, including a cruise in January, so I need to focus on getting my act together to get in shape! I also have a folder on my laptop with photos I want to print for all of the cute (empty) frames I've purchased.

I am SO horrible at drinking water – I only drink it when I'm thirsty. Sometimes I realize by 5pm that I've only drank coffee or Diet Coke all day (trying to kick that habit). I love La Croix though, so this saves me. Just carbonated and naturally flavored water – no sugars or fake sugars, water is the only ingredient!
