Quick and Easy Go-To Juices

Yesterday I posted a picture of a fresh juice that I made for Monday morning, but before I get into why I love fresh pressed juice so much, I should explain why we started juicing! After watching Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix last year (it should still be on there for you to stream); Gary and I decided that we needed to incorporate juices into our daily lives. It really helps with detoxifying your body! We went out and bought the Breville Juicer (same one he uses in the documentary). It’s a bit pricey, but we had our 20% off coupon as well as some credits to Bed Bath & Beyond, so it ended up costing us a penny…yes that’s correct! I also found this one from Amazon and also this one from High Fashion Home for a bit cheaper.

Once we knew all the benefits to juicing – we started to incorporate it into our mornings at least twice a week. We’ve fallen off here and there as it does get expensive buying fresh produce so often, but when I think of eating an apple or drinking fresh apple juice with no additives, I’d always prefer the fresh juice option.

We don’t really have a set recipe but we like to include strawberries, apples, carrots, oranges, cucumbers, kiwi and kale. Anything that can produce a lot of juice!!

Here are a few we’ve tried:

{via}

{Apple Carrot Ginger Juice}

{via}

{via}

{via}

{via}

We don’t add any milk or anything aside from the vegetables and fruit that we are juicing…so these are not smoothies, but strictly juices!

I haven’t been on an all juice cleanse and I’m not sure I can replace all my meals for one day – let alone for three, but I loved some of the Blue Print Cleanse juices so we’ve made the green and red juice as well!

I usually drink one for breakfast two to three times a week, instead of having eggs or an English muffin. It’s what works for me, but in no way do I expect it to work for everyone!

Are you a fan of juices? What are your favorite ingredients to include?

xo,

    Eek so glad you posted this! I want to try to start juicing but I'm not a fan of the normal green ones. I definitely couldn't go on an all juice cleanse… I wish I could, but replacing one meal a day sounds like a good place to start! Those Blue Print ones sound really good!!

    I've been thinking for a while that it's time to get a juicer, some of these look yummy. Like you there is no way I could do a juice cleanse (I don't even know if I could replace a meal with just juice lol), but I would love to incorporate some of these into my every day diet πŸ™‚

    I love juicing and I REALLY love that you got yours for a penny!! I have the same one and it's great, I just hate the clean up πŸ™‚ I usually make kale or spinach, cucumber, lime or lemon and apple with ginger. Honestly, I will throw whatever we have on hand in! I did Blueprint over the summer and while I love some of their juices, a whole cleanse was pretty brutal. Cheers to juicing!!!

    I don't juice too often (husband won't eat/drink most fruits for the sugar content, so then it's just me and I won't get through it all without going bad), but I love drinking them when I do make em'!

    I'd probably last 10 minutes on an all-juice cleanse/diet. I am intrigued by this though – one of my co-workers at my former job was VERY into juicing, and she said she always felt so much better after she had one. I'll have to give one of these a try instead of my normal green smoothie!

    I'm with you! I couldn't bring myself to give up meals for a full day (or 3 or 5) no will power! But Eric and I keep talking about how we need to make juicing a regular thing. To be honest, I'm not a fan! I'd rather have a smoothie any day… but I know it's so healthy so I have no problem making myself drink them, even though I don't like it!

    I love juicing, but can't see the benefits of an all juice diet either. I think it's a great way to get extra nutrients in your body, especially if you don't have time to eat an actual salad or something. I juice when I need a pick me up and when I have time, because it's not the quickest of things to do in the kitchen. And I hate throwing away the pulp, so I like to try to make muffins right after I juice, which takes time.

    I've heard so many awesome things about juicing! I'm the weird kid that never, ever liked juice (even the ones pumped full of nothing but artificial flavors and sugar). We've considered juicing too, but I'd have to go into it knowing it's not for fun but for the health benefits!

    Good for you guys! I may just have to bite the bullet and get that juicer…both you and a friend of mine seem to love it and I have been wanting to try juicing. We are on a big smoothie kick right now because Cruz loves them and I love that it gives us some fruits and veggies but I'm sure he would love natural juices too!

    I did the Suja juice cleanse and it was tough (for me, because I like to put food in my mouth =) but I definitely did feel cleansed and felt great….I think next time I would just add in some fresh fruit because I really just missed chewing my food…and it was only for three days! =) However, I do still get the Suja juices and love them…and especially love that now they are not only at Whole Foods, but Target carries them as well! So great to have a couple in the fridge until I get that juicer!

    I haven't made them in a while since it is kinda time consuming – then I find myself hungry shortly after. So I like to stick to it on the weekends, rather than on work days.

    I love green juices (it sounds so basic, but I really do). I've been trying to incorporate more veggies into my juices (carrots, broccoli, etc), but my go to is 1 or 2 ripe bananas, almond milk, spinach/kale/swiss chard, chia seeds, and some frozen strawberries. It looks like straight mud, but is so yummy and filling.
