Holidays | Something for Everyone

This post is going to be all things holidays…so hopefully there will be something for everyone! While Christmas may only be 9 days away, tonight is actually the first night of Chanukah. Some of you may not know this, but Gary and I celebrate both holidays! It’s not that we’re greedy, but we want to honor both our religions and it’s been really easy for us to do so! So along with our tree and stockings, we have a few little odes to my jewish heritage spread throughout as well.

Decor

Our stockings don’t match because when we were dating one of our gifts to one another was to get a stocking, so we just decided to keep these!!

Since we spend the most time in our living room, the only decor and accent pieces are in that room and it adds just the right amount of cheer! My mom gifted us the snow globe with the dreidel last year and it also plays a beautiful song – I’ve been able to enjoy so much more this season.

Gift Wrapping

via

There are a lot of presents under our tree- the ones that are wrapped were done by Gary because I am hands down the worst gift wrapper ever!! I have high hopes for myself every year, but next year will be my year and I’m planning on having a solidified theme for all the presents…if you still haven’t wrapped your gifts yet here’s some of my inspiration for next year!

1//2//3//4

I found this tutorialfrom One Kings Lane to help!

Eating

via

We are having Christmas Eve over at my sister’s in laws house and I’ve been asked to bring an appetizer. With most holiday food being interchangeable – my main goal is to have it easy to make and perhaps even make ahead before we leave.

I love Caprese salad so this is the perfect appetizer with a little pasta on top!! If you like your cheese a little hot – these baked brie bites are on point!! Not a fan of cheese – I found these glazed kielbasa pineapple bites and finally for a bit of Christmas flair how about cranberry and pomegranate bruschetta?!

Are all your gifts neatly wrapped? Do you have a special dish for the holidays?

I’m linking up with these sweet ladies for their last holiday link-up!

All of your holiday decor is so pretty! I really slacked off this year. And don't worry, I'm a horrible gift wrapper too. I chipped my nails trying to wrap all the presents yesterday, who does that?! And all of those appetizers look amazing!

Your decor is beautiful and I love that it's a melding of two religions/celebrations! My best friend's family does the same thing and I think it's awesome (and her nieces and nephews DO get a bunch of presents to boot haha). Despite the different religions and decorations, your stuff goes together much better than some other decor I've seen that's all for just Christmas, so give yourself a pat on the back haha
I love that little silver wire tree–I saw one at a wedding recently as the decor and wanted to take it haha

I think it is good that you celebrate both and honor both religions. I am trying to transition to a theme for wrapping to reduce my clutter with wrapping paper. The pineapple and kielbasa sounds really good, and baked brie is always a hit.

I absolutely love the idea of adding cute little bells and a few little tree trimmings to your gift wrap. I did "brown paper packages tied up with string" a few years ago and while it was pretty cute, it wasn't that cute. I also love that you two bought stockings for each other and they both had snowflakes on them, that is seriously sweet.

i am absolutely hands down the worst gift wrapper as well. in australia we don't put things in boxes – so if you get a tshirt, we wrap the tshirt, not put the tshirt in a box and wrap the box. make sense? i hate getting boxes but they do make wrapping so much easier lol. and i kinda dig your mismatched stockings! i want mismatched ones because KC and I both start with K obviously and I want them to differentiate somehow.
