Cooking With Blue Apron

One of the toughest parts of my weekend is Sunday’s when I meal plan our dinners out for the week. I usually scour Pinterest and fall back to our tried and true favorites, so when Blue Apron reached out so that I could try their service I jumped at the chance having heard how fresh and amazing their recipes were from my friends! Keep reading to find out how you can get free meals of your own!!

If you’ve never heard of Blue Apron, they allow you to create delicious, chef-designed recipes at home. All three of the meals we received I’d never attempted to make on my own, nor would I ever have dreamed that I could actually make something as delicious as Thai Coconut Curry Soup (I posted a picture on Instagram) from scratch!! It was a tough decision deciding which meal to highlight here on the blog, but the Beef Bolognese won out – mostly because I wanted to see how long it would take to create this meal since they boast all recipes take no more than 35 minutes!

Cooking with Blue Apron

Blue Apron delivers all the farm-fresh ingredients you need, right to your doorstep, in exactly the right proportions. Which means no measuring, no trips to the grocery store and no waste from unused ingredients. With each bite, Gary and I were both so impressed with how fresh the ingredients were – as if we were eating in a restaurant!!

Blue Apron Beef Bolognese

They offer two types of plans, the 2-Person Plan and Family Plan. The 2-Person Plan will set you up with one delivery a week, each with three inventive meals for two. Price for this plan is $9.99/per person/per meal and shipping is always free. There’s no commitment – you can skip or cancel the service at any time!

Blue Apron Beef Bolognese

so excited to dig in!

We’ve already agreed on our next delivery date and are anxiously awaiting it’s arrival! A couple other recipes I’ve been eyeing to try is the Korean Style Tteok and Tuscan Ribollita Soup If you’re interested in trying  Blue Apron, the first 30 readers to sign up will enjoy two free meals, just click here. They ship to 80% of the country, so check out if they deliver to your area!

Have you ever tried a meal delivery service?

That looks like a great idea! It'd be perfect because it's already planned out and seasoned just right. I don't think I could pay $10/person because I could grocery shop for a lot cheaper than that per person. But it's really really a great idea and looks delicious. I've been hearing about this everywhere and it's really intriguing! I'd love to try it but don't see it being a regular thing because of the price – I'd honestly rather go out to eat for $20/meal, ha! That Thai Coconut soup sounds VERY good, though!

I also did Blue Apron a while ago and I loved it. The meals were different and outside my comfort zone. The only thing I didn't love was the amount of chopping involved. Actually cooking the meals was pretty quick but there was so much prep involved that it did not work for me on weeknights. Otherwise, the food was fresh and delicious and I loved it.
