Cooking With Blue Apron

One of the toughest parts of my weekend is Sunday's when I meal plan our dinners out for the week. I usually scour Pinterest and fall back to our tried and true favorites, so when Blue Apron reached out so that I could try their service I jumped at the chance having heard how fresh and amazing their recipes were from my friends! Keep reading to find out how you can get free meals of your own!!
If you've never heard of Blue Apron, they allow you to create delicious, chef-designed recipes at home. All three of the meals we received I'd never attempted to make on my own, nor would I ever have dreamed that I could actually make something as delicious as Thai Coconut Curry Soup (I posted a picture on Instagram) from scratch!! It was a tough decision deciding which meal to highlight here on the blog, but the Beef Bolognese won out - mostly because I wanted to see how long it would take to create this meal since they boast all recipes take no more than 35 minutes!
Cooking with Blue Apron
Blue Apron delivers all the farm-fresh ingredients you need, right to your doorstep, in exactly the right proportions. Which means no measuring, no trips to the grocery store and no waste from unused ingredients. With each bite, Gary and I were both so impressed with how fresh the ingredients were - as if we were eating in a restaurant!!

Blue Apron Beef Bolognese
They offer two types of plans, the 2-Person Plan and Family Plan. The 2-Person Plan will set you up with one delivery a week, each with three inventive meals for two. Price for this plan is $9.99/per person/per meal and shipping is always free. There’s no commitment – you can skip or cancel the service at any time!
Blue Apron Beef Bolognese
so excited to dig in!
We've already agreed on our next delivery date and are anxiously awaiting it's arrival! A couple other recipes I've been eyeing to try is the Korean Style Tteok and Tuscan Ribollita Soup If you're interested in trying  Blue Apron, the first 30 readers to sign up will enjoy two free meals, just click here. They ship to 80% of the country, so check out if they deliver to your area!

Have you ever tried a meal delivery service?

Such a great idea though for the winter or if you have a family and its hard to find time to cook. Thank you for sharing! :-)

  36. I've never tried a meal delivery service! It looks so easy!! But I am addicted to cooking through my travel cookbooks that I don't know if I could limit myself, lol! But it looks YUMMY! Thanks for sharing! - www.domesticgeekgirl.com

  37. That looks like a great idea! It'd be perfect because it's already planned out and seasoned just right. I don't think I could pay $10/person because I could grocery shop for a lot cheaper than that per person. But it's really really a great idea and looks delicious. Maybe I'll do it if they lower the price one day!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've been hearing about this everywhere and it's really intriguing! I'd love to try it but don't see it being a regular thing because of the price - I'd honestly rather go out to eat for $20/meal, ha! That Thai Coconut soup sounds VERY good, though!

  39. I also did Blue Apron a while ago and I loved it. The meals were different and outside my comfort zone. The only thing I didn't love was the amount of chopping involved. Actually cooking the meals was pretty quick but there was so much prep involved that it did not work for me on weeknights. Otherwise, the food was fresh and delicious and I loved it.

  40. I love this concept!! How genius! My husband and I love to cook our little romantic dinners for two on a Sat night after the kids go to bed so this would be perfect!

  45. Looks delicious! I'm always a little apprehensive about the pre-packaged meal planning services, because it seems more expensive than my normal shopping. It would be perfect though for busy weeks when I don't have the time to meal plan or grocery shop.

  50. That looks delicious! I love that they provide fresh ingredients for the meals. The price seems a bit high to me, but I guess you're paying for a convenience factor as well. And for weeks that are super busy it would probably be worth it.

  51. How have I never heard about this service?? The simple fact that it's delivered to your door is enough for me!

  52. We have something similar over here in the UK. While I do think it's a fun idea, it's so expensive and you could just get your shopping delivered to your home rather than buy one of these!

  57. what a brilliant service! i'll have to check them out to see if they can cater to my needs / tastes. i did some meal planning / prep on sunday and i swear the whole thing took so long but i made a bunch of meals so it was a really awesome idea lol. the hardest for me is trying to use the same ingredients so i don't waste anything - like if i only need half an onion for one recipe, i try and find one that will use the other half. not that onions go bad quickly but you know what i mean ;)
