Pinned it | DIYs to try

I have mostly a love relationship with Pinterest because the ideas that people have in this world are amazing and I love having a place where I can keep them all organized!! The only time I seem to loathe pinterest is when clicking on a pin and it leads to nowhere...that's when Google Image Search comes into play, but that's another post (or if you can't wait I can let you know in an email)! I have a few boards on Pinterest, but one specifically for DIYs, some I've tried and some I'm looking forward to trying!! Fun round-up below!

Home & Kitchen

Four DIYs that I think would be really easy to recreate - especially the faux marble console!
DIY Striped Sofa
Console Makeover Marble Contact Paper
DIY Canvas
I was absolutely amazed that the microwave cleaning trick worked and not only that but it was amazingly clean. Below is not my microwave, but pretty close to how it looked! The lemon trick was another one that blew me away!
You might also remember that we tackled a big DIY and created our own bar cart using this IKEA hack

Getting Crafty

The problem I have is that I see the vision for what I want to create, but can't always bring it into the real world, thank god for Pinterest right!? Anything that involves glitter, I'm all over it!
Glitter Mason Jars
Glitter Votive Candles

Blog Hack
I did a few DIY projects for my wedding and the one that I was most proud of was the custom "now entering" signs we created for each table! I also didn't want to throw away all the cards we received for the wedding and from my bridal shower so I found a great DIY to keep them neatly in place!
Wedding DIY

Are you a fan of DIYs you've found on Pinterest? Were any a complete disaster?!

  1. I spray painted a lamp in my office and it turned out beautifully with the help of Pinterest. I also get the BEST cleaning tips from Pinterest. I found one that cleans rings that is my absolute favorite! Great roundup of pins!

  3. I'm with you--Pinterest is the best and the worst! The faux marble console....umm, I'm gonna need to read that because that one looks legit like marble! Ive been trying my hand at more and more DIY projects since buying our house, but some of them I'm just nervous to try. It helps having a DIY partner in crime haha
    Have a great day doll!!

  5. I love Pinterest! Like everyone else I have a whole board of DIY stuff. I recently tried to make tassel garland for my daughters b-day. The tissue was perfect. The mylar... 100% fail.. Love that lemon trick!

  6. I love DIYs and especially getting inspired by Pinterest! I love the bokeh background using the computer I'm so going to have to try that!! The glitter candle thing I've been wanting to try on an old prom glass with writing on it to cover it up and the mason jars with paint and glitter I just haven't made the time.

  10. I get super upset when a pin leads to no where too... so frustrating! Loving these pins, I need to try the lemon trick in my shower, and those glitter bombed makeup brush holders are gorgeous :-D

  12. Love all of these! If you do that marbling you must tell me how it went and if it was easy or not. It's so cute! I did the glitter mason jars but silly me did the glitter on the OUTSIDE instead of the inside. Oops. But the good part is none of the glitter has come off and I don't end up with glitter all over everything LOL!

  15. Love all of these! I definitely need that couch armrest table thing and I've always done that microwave thing. It's the best. I of course have a entire board of diy ideas that I need to revisit when I'm feeling creative!

  16. I was going to do glitter cases for my wedding, but had no time... It came out pretty well though! I've done the photo coasters too, and that came out easy too!!

  17. These are all awesome, thanks so much for sharing. I need to try the microwave and lemon trick for sure.

Love the glittery DIYs, so super pretty.

Also, LOVE your signs at your wedding. We did signature table numbers as well. Ours were similar to yours, as they were all places that were important to us!

  18. I have SO many DIY projects pinned, but I think I've only done like three of them, lol! I also put all my wedding cards together like the one that you showed here - such an easy and cute way to keep them all together! I kind of love that dry erase To Do list with the paint chips - that may have to happen for my new office.

  19. I have a love hate relationship with Pinterest! I mostly love it though. I love all the DIY stuff as well, I was on it almost all day searching for DIY projects for my upcoming Stock the Bar Party and found like 3 DIY decorations I have already went out and bought the goods for! I am so excited, now hopefully they turn out the way they looked on Pinterest!

  31. I love all of the ones that you recapped. I really love the thank you cards. I am a firm believer in snail mail and how cute to make the cards yourself. I have a 'Things I want to do' Pinterest board and I have many things in there, but am semi intimidated to try them. I know I shouldn't be. This post gave me some inspiration to just do them, so thank you!

  59. It looks like we both decorated our blogs with gold glitter today! haha Some of these things are awesome and I envy the people that can do them to perfection (like my brother's fiance). lol Unfortunately, I'm a way better shopper than a DIY-er.

  60. Girl… these are amazing!! That console is a must have, I always wish there was something right there to sit my drink on. And I can't get over that photography setup… crazy how good it turns out, I'll have to remember that. And those glitter votives look like a good wedding DIY- do you have the link to that because I didn't see it under the photo. Just wondering what type of glue would work best on glass??

    ReplyDelete
  61. Some of these are so cute and creative! I really want to try that first sofa-arm-table thing, because having such a small space means I don't have tons of room for enough coffee and side tables. And I totally agree, the worst is when it doesn't link to anything or it links to the completely wrong page!

  62. Love the glitter candles and the computer backdrop is so genius! And anything Megan from Honey We're Home does is always amazing. She's one of my favorite home decor bloggers.

  73. Those pins are phenomenal! I have tried my hand at a few projects but I really only enjoy them if my sister or bestie will do them with me. Otherwise I get frustrated that it's taking too long/not working out/etc. I especially love the way you put all your wedding cards together. I really wish I had done that. Can't wait to hear about some of these projects as you tackle them!!
