Weekending | The One Before the Blizzard

Happy Monday, well for those of you who will not be affected by Winter Storm Juno it might be a happy Monday! Before I get into my weekend let me paint a little picture for you. Walked into Trader Joe's to buy some flowers on Sunday- walk to get in line only to realize that's it's wrapped around the entire store. Is everyone in Boston that hungry or are they preparing for the apocalypse?! I'm personally hoping we don't get the 2+ feet of snow they are predicting because I've got a flight to sunny Florida on Wednesday and I'd like to keep it!!! So if you don't read anything at all - please read this...pray for less that 2 feet of snow!!
WHY?!?!
As to be expected our Friday night included sushi at our favorite restaurant and then wine and a Friends Netflix marathon at home!! Watching the show from the beginning with no commercials at 22 minutes per episode is so dangerous!!!
Saturday morning was the precursor to what we'll be getting tonight into Tuesday, so we decided to treat ourselves to a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, chocolate chip pancakes & a latte!! In all honestly - when the snow first falls it's so pristine and beautiful, it's when it turns to slush I start to question my sanity!!
I clearly need to add more color into my wardrobe but those dry fit workout pants from Target are amazing and my boots literally keep me from flying onto the pavement from the ice!!
Saturday night belonged to Bagels, my friend Kim's new puppy!! She is seriously the sweetest pup ever and I was pretty sad we had to leave her to go out! I mean - her face was the cutest, I may or may not have tried to concoct a plan to steal her !!!
The four of us made our way to Back Bay Social Club for some cocktails and I tried my first Moscow Mule - I'm hooked!!
Sunday was spent getting a much needed manicure, taking photos for a DIY coming this week and testing out the Buffalo Chicken lettuce wraps I mentioned on Friday!! In case you're wondering - they were delicious!
After reading this back I realize there are quite a few food photos - sorry about that - I promise we do more than just eat in the Winter :) Sunday night was spent flipping back and forth between Miss Universe & the SAG awards!! Sarah Hyland, Claire Danes & Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey were my favorites!
Hope you all have a wonderful start your week!!! Link up below to share your weekends!!

  1. Glad you weren't as snowed in as expected. I wish thinking about you this weekend!

Manicures are the best and all that food looks delicious!! <3 that quote!

  2. What a fun weekend!! Praying you guys don't get a ton of snow today... :( As pretty as I'm sure it would be, it does not sound like fun and I definitely don't want it to affect your flight south! I desperately need a manicure... and pedicure after this weekend! Happy Monday love!

  3. I'm sorry to hear you have a flight that may be affected!! I'm actually hoping for a lot of snow and a snow day or two... sorry! Looks like you had a great weekend, we've been watching a ton of Friends too!

  4. i hope you are riding out that storm! i hope it isn't as bad as anticipated. stay warm :))

  5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that today isn't as bad as they're saying it's going to be. I remember when we got that much snow (or close to it) and it was insane.
You and Amanda with the sushi Friday....I'm totally envious and need a sushi fix pronto! Glad that you got to spend some time with your friends, despite the weather!
(Even if your weekend WAS all about food, it looks delicious so I don't care haha)
    Have a good, snow-free Monday!

  6. I saw the Trader Joe's line on the news! Yikes! I hope you are ready to bunker down. Good luck this week.

  7. The line thing reminds me so much of Halifax. People go nuts before a storm and the lines are outrageous. The storm is supposed to start tonight for us and be pretty bad tomorrow. As usual, they've basically already cancelled tomorrow as a day! I sure hope it doesn't ruin your trip to Flordia!! That is the worst. Bagels is the cutest. I'm that person who goes to parties and hangs out with the dog all night haha

  8. To say I am hooked on Moscow Mules is an understatement!
You'll have to try the in a proper copper glass when the weather warms up this summer. You're cocktail stays cold the whole time - it's wonderful!
Stay warm and be careful out there!!

  9. Love your Monday quote!! Bagels is the cutest puppy name! Ugh the snow is interfering with my first cupcake order for a client! lol Maybe she will resched. I really loved Reese Witherspoon's look as well as the ladies you mentioned! xo Happy Monday! Finger crossed for less snow than predicted!

  10. Fingers crossed girl that your flight is a breeze out on Wed!!!! For my shower I got two sets of moscow mule sets so I think you need to come here and the four of us will drink them. So good right??? Soooo dangerous in my case......that was the night of doing cartwheels down the sidewalk in the hood but that is a whole different story ;-) That puppy is so adorable I totally would have stolen as well!

  11. You've never had a Moscow Mule until now?!?! Girl… they're the best!! And hopefully you don't get snowed in too much… I couldn't imagine that much snow. Eeeek! Have a great Monday :)

  12. I was thinking about you as I watched the news yesterday for this storm in and how much snow there will be in Boston! Definitely keeping my fingers crossed your flight is still going out on Wednesday! You deserve some of that Florida Sunshine after all that snow! :) Have a good Monday Love!

  13. Fun weekend as always and hoping you don't get as much snow and you can still make your flight down here :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. That pupper is adorable! And you know I still have never had a moscow mule... I just haven't been very interested in it's ingredients, but everyone raves about them so I know I need to give them a try and be pleasantly surprised.

Sorry about the snow, my parents in CT are worried because my dad's job NEVER closes and he's always out driving the roads in the middle of these big storms. Fingers crossed and prayers going out to you that your flight isn't cancelled and my dad can stay home through the worst of it ;-)

  15. That puppy!!! Oh my cuteness!!!! I have a weakness for puppies. And dogs. And well any animal really. I haven't tried a moscow mule yet but I need to put that on my list of things to do! We went for them a few months back but the place that is known for the best was just so damn crowded we didn't stick around long enough to grab a drink.

I saw that snow map last night and I was like whoa that is a lot of snow! I hope you are able to make your trip!!! I am going to go dream about sushi now, thanks for that. Have a great week!

  16. I’d gladly take some of that snow in Georgia! :) You always eat the best food!

  17. I am really hoping we don't get that much snow, but I am hoping our work decides to close though. Those boots are perfect! I think a plan to puppy kidnap is in order, so stinkin cute!!

  19. I would love to have some snow here but 2 feet sounds miserable! The whole city of Charleston would shut down! I pinned those buffalo chicken lettuce wraps too and have been wanting to try them! They look good!

  20. Ahhh!!!! I'll be praying for less than 2 feet of snow for you! I just saw the storm last night they said that it might be historic! Yikes!! I can't deal with Bagels! Way too cute!! Good luck! Stay warm!! Did you have to go to work today?

  21. I'm loving everything about this post! First of all, holy moly - Bagels the puppy?! That is the cutest name ever, and she looks pretty precious. I'm glad you tried the buffalo chicken lettuce wraps so now I know that they're good, and aren't moscow mules simply delicious?! They are one of my favorites. Happy Monday!

  22. I hope you stocked up on the necessities - wine and cookies. :) Crossing my fingers that you'll at least get a snow day out of it! Also, you are killing me with the sushi pics! It sounds sooo good and I can't wait till I can eat it again. Happy Monday!

  24. I told my husband this morning, that I feel like I should be preparing for a blizzard, since it's ALL OVER the news! My family is all prepped and hunkered down for it. I can picture my dad yelling about why "they" have to have so much snow. (that's the cleaned up version!). Also, my next dog is totally going to be named Bagels....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh man I hope you don't get 2 feet!! I agree, the beginning of snowfall is beautiful, but the aftermath is gross.

    Hope your Monday is great!

  27. I think that you will get out on Wednesday. Sounds like the storm will be over tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though! ;-) Love all of your pictures from your fun weekend though!! I haven't tried a moscow mule yet, I guess I'll just have to join the bandwagon haha. That sushi looks delicious, and I watched some of the Miss Universe pageant last night. :-) Happy Monday and stay safe out there!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Praying for not too much snow and safe travels for you!! OMG Bagels the puppy!! So adorable, and I love that name! I don't blame you for wanting to steal her! I LOVE Joanne Froggatt, she is so gorgeous and classy!

  29. I am praying you make it to sunny Florida this week! In Tampa it's "cold" but no snow ;) We have been binging on Friends too - there is a BuzzFeed about it and how some of the references are outdated like if it were set in 2015, some storylines would be different. It's sooo funny!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I so hope it doesn't snow that much! As much I love snow, 36 inches is WAY too much! Plus, no matter the weather, I have to report to work. It's gonna be terrible trying to get into work with all that snow. I hope you are able to make it out on Wednesday. I think It is suppose to go away by the earlier morning.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Good luck Biana and stay safe! We'll be praying for you. Already snowing here in jersey, early dismissal for school and work. Hopefully this mess will be cleaned up and you can get to that warm sunshine on Wednesday. Same, we like the perfect white snow all for about a few hours and then we are over it xo Winks and Eyerolls

While I'm enjoying this winter in the 60's and 70's, I DO miss wearing cute Sorels like you have on in that pic! Those boots are so great for the weather coming your way - at least you'll be cute, right?! :)

  34. I didn't see any of the SAG awards but Joanne Froggatt looks stunning- that dress! It looks like you guys had such a fun weekend before the storm hits! I hope you guys don't end up getting that much snow, or if you do hopefully your flight won't be canceled or delayed. Fingers crossed for you!

  45. I have been thinking of all you East Coast people non-stop since I heard about the terrible storm coming! Praying for less snow! I hope your flight isn't affected. Also, you make me want to put together a sushi Friday tradition with my friends. It looks so fun! :)

  46. It drives me nuts that they're naming winter storms now. Is that really necessary? I feel like it's a push for ratings/clicks and grocery/gas sales. I'm hoping it's not as bad as they're predicting, especially since I'm supposed to be in Boston the end of this week and would prefer to not have to dig my car out (which is inevitable at this point). Fingers crossed your flight goes smoothly!

  48. Sounds like an amazing weekend, but seriously, what was up with that Trader Joes, so weird lol. We haven't started our Friends binge yet but we're afraid when we do, we'll forget how many days have passed wince we started lol Happy Monday love

  49. I actually tried my first Moscow Mule on Saturday too and I'm also hooked - so good! Bagel is too cute (and love that name!). I'm pretty sure I need to invest in a pair of those boots, especially with all of this snow we are supposed to get. Thinking good thoughts that it's not too bad and tapers off by Wednesday so you can get out of the snow and into the sun!! xoxo

  50. Praying for you during this crazy storm! I hope you can make that flight Wednesday!
If it makes you feel better... It is supposed to snow the day we pack up the truck this weekend, and rain in AZ the day we unload. It hardly ever rains there, but of course it will on moving day!

    ReplyDelete
  51. There are several reasons why I love living in the South now. One of the main ones is never having to worry about 18 inches of snow. Not owning a snow shovel is a close second. lol. As for Trader Joe's isn't that just what every Sunday morning is like? Mine is always jam packed!

  52. For your sake I'm praying you don't get too much snow. But please, can you send some our way?! It was 63 degrees here yesterday! I have yet to go skiing this year. We need snow!

  72. FL sounds amazing!!! I am with you and needing to add a little color in my wardrobe. I hate it when grocery stores have lines that long. I usually try to grocery shop early before everyone gets there but every once in a while there is a last minute "must have". grrrrrr

  73. OH MY GOD BAGELS! I die. Hopefully the weather cooperates and you're able to get down to sunny Florida this week! Have you seen this video? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6zaVYWLTkU) It's so true it hurts. I stupidly had to go to the grocery store yesterday because I was out of pretty much everything and it was absolutely ransacked and mobbed.
