Weekending | Still Thawing Out

inspirational quote

Happy Monday lovelies!!! This weekend was a doozy and had a little bit of everything. Relaxing, movie watching and celebrating a Patriots win – I’d give it an A+!!!

I had been trying to convince Gary to watch Chef with me and after Ally gave it a good review I was even more excited to watch it!! As Ally mentioned, make sure you are well fed before you watch because there is some seriously good food featured and I think I may have picked up a thing or two in the culinary sense!

Rose Arrangement

After a morning Barre class I went to Trader Joe’s to pick up a few things for the Patriots game and realized fresh flowers were seriously lacking in our home. I have a fun tutorial/DIY on how we got the roses to pretty much make the most perfect arrangement I’ve ever created!! You’ll see the flowers in a few more pictures…

Entertaining

If I ever doubted Trader Joe’s for their ability to help in a pinch, it was all put to bed on Saturday!! Gary said the guys didn’t really care how the food was laid out, just as long they could eat it, but they took notice because they all complemented the presentation. P.S. dark chocolate almonds are delicious!

Since we had a good three hours of the game to get through, my friend Jackie and I decided we’d let the boys have their fun and we get some manis!! I’ve mentioned MiniLuxe before, but this was my first time actually having a my nails done there and I loved the experience!!

We celebrated the big win by heading out to Yard House…not pictured the after party at our house playing catch phrase!

Waking up on Sunday morning I expected it would be cold, but as cold as the NORTH POLE, that was a shocker…it appears Boston warmed up during the day, but I don’t believe it since it was still freezing outside!!

Just how cold was is it you ask?! Cold enough that the pond in the Public Garden has officially frozen over and I can knock walk on water off the bucket list!!

Oh and we also woke up to our heat being broken, so we found reprieve at the movies! I’m not so secretly obsessed with the Taken movies and was so excited to see the final one!! If you’re on the fence it’s way better than the second one, but the first is still the best! We rounded out the day with a new Blue Apron meal that I’ll be sharing later this week!

The Golden Globes

The ladies were extremely daring on the red carpet this year and it was the year of white, red and sparkles if you watched!!!

Golden Globes Best Dressed

So this is not normally what I would pick for a best dressed, but Emma Stone looked incredible and let’s be honest, she was probably the most comfortable woman there!

Golden Globes Best Dressed

I stuck with the usual suspects for my favorites of the nights, but seriously how flawless does Helen Mirren look?

Golden Globes Best Dressed

Golden Globes Best Dressed

And then just like that the weekend was over!! Did you watch the Golden Globes? How was your weekend? Hope you have a wonderful start to your week and stay warm!!

I was so looking forward to the recaps of the Golden Globes this morning, alas I didn't watch (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory instead…don't be jealous!) but love seeing the outfits! That pant suit on Emma Stone is gorgeous!

And what a great weekend! Love those flowers – trader Joe's and even Whole Foods are so great for gorgeous fresh flowers to brighten up the mood inside when it's soooo cold outside. And your arranging skills are pretty impressive! Have a great week!

Those flowers are perfect–it's amazing how a vase of flowers can just brighten a space and your mood. It's the little things for sure!

Trader Joe's is fantastic- and those roses are just more proof of that! It was cold in Florida, too and I did not like it one bit. However, my family in Maine may have you, me, and the North Pole beat- my brother's thermometer showed it was -5 outside while his phone said it was 4. After almost 10 years south of the Mason Dixon I don't think I could handle it…. Happy Monday!!!!

Such a great weekend! Isn't this cold weather just ridiculous?! Your roses are absolutely stunning – I wish I could figure out how to make my arrangements look that good! I'm glad you enjoyed Chef – it was one of the best movies that we saw in 2014. I thought the Golden Globes were slightly boring this year (that's why I opted not to do my usual recap), but I agree with all your fashion picks! I'd also add Kate Hudson and Gwenyth Paltrow.

And it has been SO cold. But, we just got a new dog, and she has had me out in the freezing temps in the morning. She loves it – I have 3 layers of clothing on – so it's okay. SORT OF! haha

I love that you compare Boston to the North Pole! Hahaha! I mean… I'm sorry you have to live in all that cold. I've gotta give the GG winner to Reese I think… girl is so classic and gorgeous. Love that cheese spread! And your roses are my fave. Hinting to my husband later tonight how "Biana got these really pretty pink roses this weekend…" I'll just leave out the part about you bought them yourself haha.

Ugh! The cold!! I am over it! (Although, I could deal if we were living in Boston! But since we aren't… we've decided to move to Arizona to get away from the cold, yay!)
I have never been to Trader Joe's and I'm dying to! I hear about the best foods coming out of that place!
Can't wait to see Taken 3! I'm working on lining up a babysitter so that we can go see it next week! Wish me luck, ha ha!

Trader Joe's is amazing and I really should use mine more! Sounds like a great weekend except for that whole heat thing. Brrrrr!

I love that we had a lot of the same picks for the best dressed at the golden globes. Emma stone looked amazing. I don't know how you live in that cold of weather. You know what? I'd love to read a post about living in a place that snows and freezes over and what your day routine is with a snow commute. I'm so curious

I loved Emma Stone's look. Her, Kate Hudson, and JLo were some of my best dressed. They all looked so fabulous. I have to say, I felt like there were not a lot less misses this year. Everyone looked so stunning! Oh and congrats on your Patriot's win!

How did I miss this post this morning! Trader Joe's is the best! Their flowers are always great and such a great price.
I haven't watched the Globes yet (we DVR'd it) but all the fashion was fabulous! Love me some Reese!

Those flowers are gorgeous!! Please do give a little how to. 🙂 I definitely thought JLo was going to pop out of that dress, but it was gorgeous nonetheless.

It looks like you had a great weekend! The weather here last week so freezing with temps dropping into the negatives. The weekend got a little better but last night it started dropping again and add in the wind and its almost unbearable. I love love love your flowers. My husband and I ended up in Columbus on Sunday and I was so tempted to run into Trader Joe's to get some fresh flowers but we were in a bit of a hurry so I didn't figure he would agree that we needed them lol

Fun weekend! A mani sounds so nice right now 🙂 Very cute set up for the game, Biana! Haha! The North Pole?! Eek! That's why I'm a Texas girl. I hate the cold!

Looked like a great weekend! Those roses are gorgeous…fresh flowers around the house always make me happy! We've been having super cold temps all the way up here in Virginia, too…at least you were able to knock something off the bucket list!
