Weekend Happenings

This weekend we headed out of the city and off to visit Gary's family. It was one of those weekends that I didn't take a lot of photos and really just enjoyed being away from everything!
//We got drinks with friends and saw a few puppies and even a baby in the bar...when in Rome!
//Used a snow blower for the first time ever
//Also shoveled snow for the first time, feeling it today and thinking city life is the way to go!
//Watched the Oscars and even tried my best to choose the winners

Having a laid back weekend means lots of Friends binge watching on Netflix and some online shopping!!

I have been itching for some leopard flats and tried them on when I was at DSW...they didn't have my size, but I knew that they would fit perfectly and would be really comfy because they are Dr. Scholl's, which is what they're known for!
I'm also slightly obsessed with suede shoes at the moment! I found these two at H&M and I'm leaning towards the pink ones, but wanted to see what you all thought! They come in the usual colors like khaki and black, but I want something with a little more pop!
Now let's talk Oscar fashion!!
Chrissy Tiegan would have been my favorite of the night had Jennifer Lopez not showed up, but Chrissy looked gorgeous and I could not love that pale blue color more!! Jennifer Aniston = pure perfection and Jamie Chung...who would have thought she got her start on the Real World!! I absolutely love her dress!
I have to say what I love most about the Oscars is the drama of the dresses!! Reese Witherspoon, Rita Ora and Rosamund Pike looked amazing!!! I did think that Reese looked stunning, but a little safe even if she did wear white.
I could not even get over Jennifer Hudson in pale yellow and then Jenna Dewan showed up...seriously!!
I'm utterly obsessed with Jennifer Lopez's dress from last night!! She looked youthful, gorgeous and absolutely flawless!!
Did you watch the Oscars? Who was your best dressed?

Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week!!

  2. What a nice, relaxing weekend! The baby in a bar thing is a bit weird but ok then. Love those leopard flats and both of those heels. Since my favorite color is blue I'm a bit partial to the blue ones.... :) Love the red carpet for the Oscars. I saw a series of pictures of JLo getting into a car to go to the Oscars and man was it process! Happy Monday love!

  5. Sounds like a lovely weekend! I'm watching the Oscars right now (we have a delayed telecast here in Australia!) and I'm loving all the fashion. I think Jena Dewan, Rosamund Pike, Emma Stone and Margot Robbie look AMAZING!!

  6. Your first time shoveling! Oh I am jealous right now. Shoveling now is not my favorite activity. I really loved Emma Stone's Elie Saab dress. The color could have been better in my opinion, but I mean, long sleeves with an open back. I'd wear that thing everywhere.

  7. Jenna Dewan Tatum was one of my favorites from last night too--I couldn't find a picture of her last night for my post. There were a lot of great dresses out there for sure!
So glad that you had a good weekend even if it involved snow haha. You sure are a Northern girl now for sure!! ;)

  9. Love those H&M pumps! I was obsessed with J Lo's dress too! I just love all the sparkle this year :)

  10. Love those suede heels! I'm loving the blue ones, but think the pink ones will be perfect for spring :)

I watched the Oscars, but only made it until 11:00. My biggest gripe with these awards shows is them being on a Sunday night and starting so late. It's a "school night" people! :-P

Jennifer Aniston will always be my fav, and she looked gorgeous but she needs to step it up and stop playing it so safe with her hair! Do something different gurlie!

  11. I was amazed at all the gorgeous dresses last night! Definitely loved Emma Stone and J.Lo killed it, per usual!

  14. What a fun weekend getaway! I say go for the pink suede pumps - they are so you! To be honest, I was slightly underwhelmed by most of the Oscar dresses, but Emma Stone, Sienna Miller, Anna Kendrick and Jen Aniston were my top picks!

  15. Agree with all of your best dressed ladies! :)
Jennifer Aniston always knocks it out of the park to me! xx

  17. Get the pink pumps!! Love them!! I also love the leopard flats. Get those too haha. I'm glad that you had a nice weekend. Sometimes its really nice to get out of the city. :-) Luypita N is my pick for best dressed, but I also liked Reese Witherspoon and Rosamund Pike. I hope that you are having a good day so far too!! :-)

  18. I like both shoes but think personally I'd have more to wear w/ the blue!! I did watch the Oscars and lives all the dresses. I thought Anna Kendrick and Dakota Johnson looked gorgeous!

  19. I sat inside and watch Josh shovel, that is basically how I contribute :) City living is definitely the way to go, take me back to it! I vote on the pink pumps because they will match more and show up better... or just get both because royal blue is such a fabulous color too! Happy Monday love! xo

  20. Such a fun weekend!! Jennifer Lopez's was my FAVORITE dress. She always looks so classic and beautiful. Also loved Reese's and the girl in red (idk her name).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Love the leopard print flats! I really liked Reese's dress, but agree with you - it felt safe. I felt like E! didn't cover everyone on the red carpet, because there were a lot of people I didn't see!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I had no idea Jamie Chung got her start on the Real World! I love her (and her dress is amazing). I have to agree with you, J Lo looked incredible. That dress is beautiful. The color, the plunging neckline, the gems... perfection!

  25. Shoveling is the worse. I have to shovel my balcony so that when the snow melts it doesn't leak into my condo. It's a pain in the butt! It is better than getting water in the house. I use to love having a balcony now I hate it! hahaha. Jennifer Lopez looked amazing!! I thought Reese Witherspoon looked amazing as well. Jenna Dewan is beautiful and so isn't that dress. White seemed like a popular color last night.

  29. Oh snow!! I'm so sick of it haha We sold our snowblower when we moved and we're really missing it this year! I didn't get to watch the Oscars, but I checked out all the fashion this morning. I seemed to be drawn to colour this year and my favorites were Emma Stone, Rosamund Pike, and Dakota Johnson.

  36. I didn't watch the oscars, but seriously, some great dresses. I love Jamie Chung and her dress is gorgeous! J-Lo looked flawless of course, but a little less cleavage would have been nice haha. Jenna Dewan - seriously, amazing. meanwhile, the blue and pink shoes are both gorgeous, i feel like you should get both! i would wear the blue more for sure as i love blue, but if you are leaning towards the pink, get those :)

  37. Look at you owning that snow blower! Yeah we actually have hired out our snow removal. While it's a decent workout...it's tough work and let's be honest I just don't like being out in the cold! =)

I'm also with you on the Friends binge watching and online shopping...I do that often at night when the reruns are on Nick as well!

And speaking of Friends, Jennifer Aniston looked amazing...she is and has always been my favorite and in my mind only could've been shown up had Blake Lively attended the Oscars =)

    Have a great week girl!

  40. Shoveling snow is for the birds.. I would die!!! lol. And my favorites were Rosamund and J Lo's dresses… and Lupita's!! You forgot her lol. And I love Chrissy Tiegen's, but that super high slit made me a little nervous haha.

  41. My brother's so weird- he LOVES shoveling snow! I however, moved to Florida to avoid it :) We were still catching up on DVRed stuff during the Oscars, but out of the pictures, I love Jennifer Hudson, Rosmund Pike, and Jennifer Aniston's dresses. I'm a fan of sleeker dresses than the fuller skirts. Even my wedding dress didn't have a whole lot of "extra" to it :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh, shoveling snow is indeed a workout! Lol. I would come in sweating even though it was well below freezing when I lived in a city that required shoveling.

Yes to JLo's dress. Simply stunning.

  43. Pink pumps all the way! They'll be fun for spring. And I loved Jennifer Lopez, too! How is it that she can do no wrong -- ever! I need her styling team.

  50. I actually ordered those leopard flats twice and I was weirdly in-between sizes or something because one was way too big and the other was too small, I was so bummed because they're so cute! I think Chrissy Tiegan can pull off just about anything- her dress was so gorgeous! I loved Anna Kendrick, Sienna Miller, and Margot Robbie too. So glad you guys had a good weekend visiting with Gary's family!
