Weekending | Snowed In

Happy Monday!! No shock here, it was another snowy weekend in Boston and we were snowed in once again on Sunday!! In just 3 1/2 weeks we have had 4 storms and 7 feet of snow…it’s safe to say Gary and I may be contemplating a move to the South!! Regardless of the weather we still managed to have a great weekend and it’s a three day weekend for me so there’s that!!

Watched

It was a weekend of lot’s of movie watching, starting with 50 Shades of Grey on Thursday night! I checked a few theaters in Boston and apparently it was being shown a day ahead of the national release so we ventured out to see it! I wont go on in detail about the movie…but we’ll just leave it at I liked it and I thought it was tastefully done!! If you want to read what an 83 year old grandma thought about the movie check it out here! We also watched Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal & I actually hand’t heard anything about the movie, but it was really interesting! He was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor and seriously deserved it because he plays creepy all too well!

Enjoyed

For Valentine’s Day we decided to head out early and get some brunch at Eastern Standard. It was so nice not having to fight the crowds – definitely starting a new tradition of brunch on Valentine’s Day! I didn’t even get a picture of the egg concoction that I ate, but it was incredible!

We probably should have waited for them to clear our plates, but we took advantage of there not being anyone to our left!

After all the indulging it was time to walk off brunch! Gary clearly needed to show off and dove right into the snow…I also made myself comfortable and created a makeshift snow bench!

Cards, flowers and not shown is the bag of Mint Milano cookies that was devoured by the both of us this weekend! For dinner we agreed to try a try a new recipe from The Newlywed Cookbook and it was delicious – recipe coming this week!

Keeping Busy

Everyone always asks what do you do in a snow storm? Well you eat,  a lot!!! Not to mention it gives you a lot of time for blogging and cleaning…so the house is clean and the blog has been worked on! I also spent a lot of time getting to know my new computer!!! My Mac was just not cutting it for what I needed to do and we upgraded with a seriously amazing sale that Microsoft was having!! You’ll notice I already put that xoxo screensaver I mentioned last week! I may or may not have hugged it at one point this weekend…it’s touch screen and that makes me really happy!

Around 4:00, we were going a little stir crazy so decided to venture outside…mistake number 1!! It’s really beautiful, but way too cold! We quickly realized home was way better!

Also, huge thank you to everyone who entered my Talaria Flats giveaway last week – the winner is Kate and I’ll be emailing you shortly!

slightly obsessed with this

Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week and link up below to share your weekends with us!!

Oh my goodness, all the snow! ALL.THE.SNOW! I was in Texas this weekend and it was so deliciously warm, I can't imagine how y'all up north are still sane. Glad you were able to get out for Vday and had a great celebration. Woohoo for the new computer! πŸ™‚

I agree, it's all about eating, tv watching and cleaning during snow days!

man, you guys are getting hammered with so much snow!! usually that's us so it's strange to see other places outside of canada getting all that snow. the maritimes are getting buried under a huge storm; a blogger i follow has been IGing pics of her mailbox outside and every hour you see less and less of her mailbox LOL. then her final pic: mailbox buried. guess i'm not getting mail anytime soon hahahah

    stay warm!

North Carolina is about to join you in the snow department. I mean, not 7 feet but we're supposed to get 4-6 inches – which is a big deal around here. I'm so excited for movies and time to blog and clean! Looks like you two had a great Valentines!!

Wow!! Look at all that snow!!
Born and raised in Florida and I just get so jealous of all the snow photos. Why I moved to Australia and not Sweden I'll never know.
We watched Nightcrawler a few weeks ago and I definitely agree, Jake Gyllenhall plays creepy really well! I can see why he was nominated for best actor. Although we watched The Theory of Everything on Sunday and Eddie Redmayne played Stephen Hawking so wonderfully that I actually felt I was watching a person go through life suffering from the disease. I think he might be a lock in for best actor this year.

Whoa, y'all have an insane amount of snow! I bet you wouldn't mind our predicted snowfall today of 1-2". That's reason enough to move down south, right? Hope y'all thaw out soon & enjoy your day off today!

I think Brunch is much better than trying to beat the crowds. Looks like a cute place too. I didn't brave the cold much either, it got super windy on Sunday. Movies, and too much food sounds about right! πŸ˜‰

Well look at all that snow!!! They were predicting winter weather for us the last week and now we might just get a cold rain. I would love to see it snow just once. No ice though. Haha! So I guess better nothing than the mess we had last year.

Looks like you guys had a great weekend! Lots of movies and food sounds perfect to me. Have a great week!

Looks like you guys made the most of it – movies, brunch and time with the computer would be my ideal snowy weekend as well =) And I might need to know what you didn't like about your MAC, I have been contemplating one (a new laptop in general) but I've always used microsoft products and thought it would be a big transition. Sounds like you had a pretty great weekend.
We got a lot of snow over the weekend as well, but it was raining this morning and washed a lot of it away.

How about you guys being the absolute cutest and making the blizzard look so good!? V-Day brunch sounds wayyyy better than dinner among the massive crowds. Sorry you guys keep getting such rough weather but glad you're staying safe!

you guys are so adorable in the snow, seriously. i don't envy you though – it snowed a few inches here yesterday so the office was closed – woo! but we weren't technically snowed in lol. i used the free day to catch up on all my tv! and yeah, i ate way too much. that recipe you guys made from the cookbook looks so good! and i love the idea of brunch on V Day, we don't celebrate but we do like to go to breakfast or brunch every once in a while, it's nice to be up before everyone else!

The amount of snow Boston has gotten this year is absolutely insane! I can't even imagine. Moving to the South was definitely one of the better decisions we've made and today I'm at home waiting to see if my office is closed due to an inch of snow. πŸ™‚ Things are different down here.

I can imagine if you aren't snow people this would get old, and it is a lot of snow. But we are dying for snow here in WA! The mountains are so bare and ski hills have shut down. Send it all our way!

Girl, the snow needs to END!! You guys have an insane amount! How are you liking your new computer? We're going to be upgrading ours with our tax refund and I was thinking about a Mac but now you have me intrigued with the Dell!

OMG. You guys are the cutest. I'm obsessed with the snow pictures. Every last one of them!! I can't believe how much snow you guys are getting! I mean, it's shutting down Boston – what is that?! IN. SANE. Love that you guys went out for brunch… but what was that dinner?! It looks delish!

7 feet of snow?! AYE CARAMBA! That's just sick and wrong. SICK AND WRONG I SAY!
I want to see Nightcrawler! I hadn't heard about it until a few weeks ago and it sounds so interesting… plus: Jake Gyllenhaal. I mean, c'mon.
I love the two of you playing in the snow… adorable little couple! πŸ™‚
