Loving Lately | Spring Jackets

Although temps have steadily been going up in Boston, it's still jacket weather here. Thankfully we've put away our heavy winter coats and now opt for jean jackets, trench coats and other lighter options! I love the look of utility jackets and have one that is more of a rain jacket in a lighter purple/pink color to brighten up dreary April weather - but what I'm seriously missing in my closet is a classic trench! I thought I'd share my two favorite spring jacket trends and see what you all think should be my next purchase!!

I'm quite stuck between the London Fog trench and the Guess one with the black accents...both I know would get a ton wear with the weather in Boston!

I love the functionality of utility jackets - it's equal parts stylish as it is functional! I think a lot of them are great for all types of weather and I'm really swooning over the blush hooded one from Forever 21 - and who doesn't love that price point?!

How do you transition from Fall to Spring?

  1. I really like both the trench and the utility jacket. Both are classic in their own way. I'm with you on the blush jacket, but duh, you know how I feel about blush. :)

  6. I have a green utility light army coat if you will and I literally live in it for the transition period. A trench is just so classic I love your picks!

  7. I love a good utility jacket, they're such a staple in my wardrobe and are so very versatile, too.

  8. Ugh you really need both I think! Splurge on the trench and save on the utility and get the ones you mentioned I say! Trenches are sooo classic you will wear it forever! This is a serious hole in my closet too! Love all your picks.

  9. i love these light-weight trenches and i am looking for a green one or maybe a shorter version of my khaki one!

  10. My sister got a utility jacket recently from Old Navy in an olive green color that she loves - I think the trench coat would be more my style. Very cute!

  11. Great picks! You can never have too many spring jackets ;-)

  12. I love that violet color of the first trench. I love a good trench but the utility jackets are cute too!

  13. That first trench coat is gorgeous! Absolutely love the color! It needs to make it's way into my closet, although it's already too warm for jackets. Our in-between weather is December-February which I call "our fall", and I could so use a beautiful trench like that one :)

  14. I have a trench from Banana Republic and wear the heck out of it come spring! It’s such a great lightweight jacket!

  15. oooh i love the guess trench, the black accents are fabulous - that would look great on you! i love the look and idea of utility jackets but i just don't think i would wear them!

  16. My utility jacket has been my go-to on the chillier mornings. It pairs so well with EVERYTHING! I am in love with some of those trench coats and have wanted to get one for a while but just havent done it yet

  17. I am in the market for a new utility jacket so thanks for sharing these options! I kind of wish we could be done with jackets altogether this season, but at least my puffy coat is finally in storage!

  18. great options! i need a new trench so bad and these are great choices. my utility jacket is a def go-to piece! i have a military green one and a gray one - they go with everything!

  19. I am going to be very unhelpful and say get both :) They're both great jackets to have with very different looks and one is more casual versus dressy. The London Fog is a great, classic jacket that you will have for a LONG time and any of the utility coats will be great to have!

  20. I'd say go with the classic trench coat. I like the look of the utility jacket a lot and have one myself but have come to realize that it's not quite as versatile. You know, like on those days where you're dressed nicely and don't want to wear a leather jacket.

  21. I love both styles! But there's just something about a classic trench! But I do love that blush utility jacket, so pretty! Clearly I can't make a decision, haha! :)

  22. The first thing that's going on my list for next fall is a good trenchcoat! They are just so classic! So I definitely vote trench!

  24. I've had that blush F 21 jacket sitting in my shopping cart since yesterday when I saw you pin it! I love my utility jacket from H &M, and either of your trench options are timeless!

  25. Yes it is FINALLY warm enough to retire the winter jacket! I am loving my cargo jacket this season but definitely need to add a classic trench to my wardrobe!

  26. You know I've been on the hunt for a good trench coat, too! I love the London Fog one - it's such a great brand! And obsessed with that blush F21 jacket, that one may have to be mine :)

  27. I have a classic trench and I adore it. After our honeymoon in Paris, the only thing I wanted was a basic trench coat. It's getting a little too warm to wear it in Charleston, but I had it on blast through most of the winter.

  28. Lavender Trench - Shut up SHut up !

And I own two utility jackets - they are my favvy!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Love all of them!! Get all of them!! haha. No, don't do that.. :-) I have a khaki colored trench coat that I wear in the spring. I mean it's a raincoat, but it's a cute haha. While I love the utility jacket look, it just doesn't seem as practical to me as the trench/rain coat. It also has a removable hood and wool liner which is great. :-)

  30. That Love21 trench and the Express utility jacket are to dieeeeeeeeeeeee!!! You have such great taste. These are awesome picks.

  32. Oooo, I'm loving the second trench! I've always wanted one but couldn't justify spending the money on it since I would hardly wear it in Utah. Definitely not warm enough for the winter, and sometimes Fall and Spring are so short lived that I would only wear the jacket a couple times before it got too hot or too cold. But I think I'd get plenty of use out of it during Arizona winters!!.... do those even exist? I'm convinced it never gets cold here, ha ha!

  33. I so want a trench coat. I have been wearing my Barbour jacket nonstop because it is just so great when it rains. Around here, you just never know when it is gonna rain. There is nothing worse than getting stuck in the rain and your jacket isn't water resistant.
