Top 4 Concealers

Concealer! It’s really a love/hate relationship I have with it because on the one hand I hate that I need it and on the flip side – I’m so happy that I’ve found four incredible concealers that do their job right!! Through some trial and error, I’ve picked my four favorite concealers and I’m sharing what makes each of them so special!!

MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER

This is my go-to concealer when I’m really getting “done up!” It’s got a thicker consistency and a little goes a long way! I swear by a lot of MAC face products because of their staying power. My one piece of advice while wearing this; make sure you set your concealer. I know you’re supposed to set it regardless of what kind you use, but with this one especially since it’s thicker and can crease by the end of the day.

NARS CREAMY RADIANT CONCEALER

It doesn’t get much better than this concealer! My favorite is the applicator – it makes it really easy to get the “triangle” to make sure you are covering your entire under eye area. I wear “vanilla” and it acts more like a highlighter for me, but still covers my under eye area – if that makes any sense. It’s very light and not nearly as thick as the MAC concealer. Again this one tends to crease a little more than I’d like, but a good setting powder and you’re good to go!

URBAN DECAY WEIGHTLESS CONCEALER

As the name suggest, this has the lightest formula of any concealer I’ve ever tried! The applicator is really fun too because it’s not “static,” but bends into any section of your face you might need – not just under eye area, but around the nose too. For being so weightless, the coverage is actually really wonderful. I also love that with this concealer I don’t have to add setting powder. I usually do just to be safe, but I’ve noticed that on days when I don’t set it, there aren’t any creases!

BENEFIT ERASE PASTE

I used Erase Paste exclusively for about three years before I decided to venture to the three mentioned above, so that should tell you something right there!! the coverage is wonderful, but my one any only gripe throughout my use was that I always used my finger to apply. I only switched because I wanted a different application method, but if I was to go back, I’d use my concealer brush and apply that way!! It’s blendable and really does a wonderful job at hiding those dark circles under your eyes!

Regardless of what concealer I’m using, the biggest game changer in application has been the Beauty Blender! This little tool has totally redefined how I do my under-eye are and it really gets into the nooks and crannies of everything I’m trying to blend!!

I’m also really interested in trying Maybelline Instant Age rewind – have you tried this one?

What’s your favorite concealer?

I've used the Mac concealer for like 6 years now but sometimes I want to switch it up. I've heard great things about the Erase Paste but I hate that you have to apply it with your finger too. And I've never tried NARS but I want to!

I've only heard of the urban decay one on your list, so I don't have too much to add. I love the concealer from Artistry and have been using it for years. It's a stick and works like magic!!! I might have to check one of these out though, just in case!

I might try one of these. I currently use CoverGirl concealers – just because I already know that their "classic ivory" shade matches me. Haha.

I have tried all of these except for the new UD, and I think it's going to be the next one I try. I actually use two concealers….one for dark circles and then I add the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in Brightener. Game changer…you definitely need this!

I've always wanted to love Erase Paste but I hate that they only have three shades because my skin needs somewhere between the fair and medium shade! My go to's are the NARS (thanks to you!) and Bare Minerals Stroke of Light for "no makeup" days. I want to try the Maybelleine, too – can't beat the price!

The Mac is the only one I haven't tried. I totally agree that the bottom three are all amazing! Erase Paste was my go-to for a long time, and I am currently using the Nars, but have also used the Naked Skin (my favorite!) I think the Nars is definitely more of a highlighting concealer and I use it differently than I do others.

I was just talking to my girls at work about concealers yesterday too haha. I'm using a Bobbi Brown one in a little compact and its creamy. I also keep having this problem where I get raccoon eyes. I've used the Maybelline Age Rewind… I like it, but I don't know if it's the Holy Grail concealer that people make it out to be…. it's worth trying since it's a reasonable price. Oh, and I totally agree with you about the Beauty Blender… it is EVERYTHING!

I need to break down and try one of these. Foundation you can get away with using lower end. With the right tools, application, and tricks, you can really make them work. Concealer is a different story. Almost all I've tried look drying, melt away, or cake up. Not cute. These four I've heard over and over in terms of greatness. Hm…. I'll have to try!

I've actually had experience with all four concealers you mention. My favorite right now is NARS, you're right it's great! I could never get the Erase Paste to match my skin tone (too fair LOL) so I had to give it away (BUMMED) but nevertheless…. I tried the MAC Pro Longwear on three separate occasions (I once tried out a too-dark shade from a friend and twice in store) and fell in love with the higher pigmentation. Like you mention I know I would use it for getting "all dolled up"!! Unfortunately the last few times I went to buy it they did not have NC15 which is the shade that JUSTTT matches my skin tone. I'm due for another check soon. Hopefully it's in stock!! Thanks for sharing your concealers, it was a nice post to read through!!

I've been back and forth on the first three for a while now so now I'm even more tempted to try! I think the IT Cosmetics concealer I have is probably similar to the MAC because it's a thicker consistency and gives really good coverage. I stuck with a really light shade of it, so it looks a little bit intense now, haha, so I need a darker summer option & definitely want something more lightweight– maybe the UD will be next!
