Top 4 Concealers

Concealer! It's really a love/hate relationship I have with it because on the one hand I hate that I need it and on the flip side - I'm so happy that I've found four incredible concealers that do their job right!! Through some trial and error, I've picked my four favorite concealers and I'm sharing what makes each of them so special!!

MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER

This is my go-to concealer when I'm really getting "done up!" It's got a thicker consistency and a little goes a long way! I swear by a lot of MAC face products because of their staying power. My one piece of advice while wearing this; make sure you set your concealer. I know you're supposed to set it regardless of what kind you use, but with this one especially since it's thicker and can crease by the end of the day.

NARS CREAMY RADIANT CONCEALER

It doesn't get much better than this concealer! My favorite is the applicator - it makes it really easy to get the "triangle" to make sure you are covering your entire under eye area. I wear "vanilla" and it acts more like a highlighter for me, but still covers my under eye area - if that makes any sense. It's very light and not nearly as thick as the MAC concealer. Again this one tends to crease a little more than I'd like, but a good setting powder and you're good to go!

URBAN DECAY WEIGHTLESS CONCEALER

As the name suggest, this has the lightest formula of any concealer I've ever tried! The applicator is really fun too because it's not "static," but bends into any section of your face you might need - not just under eye area, but around the nose too. For being so weightless, the coverage is actually really wonderful. I also love that with this concealer I don't have to add setting powder. I usually do just to be safe, but I've noticed that on days when I don't set it, there aren't any creases!

BENEFIT ERASE PASTE

I used Erase Paste exclusively for about three years before I decided to venture to the three mentioned above, so that should tell you something right there!! the coverage is wonderful, but my one any only gripe throughout my use was that I always used my finger to apply. I only switched because I wanted a different application method, but if I was to go back, I'd use my concealer brush and apply that way!! It's blendable and really does a wonderful job at hiding those dark circles under your eyes!

Regardless of what concealer I'm using, the biggest game changer in application has been the Beauty Blender! This little tool has totally redefined how I do my under-eye are and it really gets into the nooks and crannies of everything I'm trying to blend!!

I'm also really interested in trying Maybelline Instant Age rewind - have you tried this one?

What's your favorite concealer?

  1. I've used the Mac concealer for like 6 years now but sometimes I want to switch it up. I've heard great things about the Erase Paste but I hate that you have to apply it with your finger too. And I've never tried NARS but I want to!

  2. I've only heard of the urban decay one on your list, so I don't have too much to add. I love the concealer from Artistry and have been using it for years. It's a stick and works like magic!!! I might have to check one of these out though, just in case!

  3. I might try one of these. I currently use CoverGirl concealers - just because I already know that their "classic ivory" shade matches me. Haha.

  4. Concealer really can make all the difference in the look of your face. I always love one that's light-weight but full coverage.

  8. The Mac is my favorite but I have a love-hate relationship with it too! the funny thing is. When I'm in a rush sometimes I even forget to put it on and I'm not really sure if you tell that much of a difference. Ha! Have a wonderful Wednesday sweetie

  9. I love the MAC pro longwear, but you are so right, it's thick. I really want to try the NARS creamy concealer -- so glad to know it's easy to apply! Thanks so much for sharing and have a wonderful Wednesday!

  10. I have tried all of these except for the new UD, and I think it's going to be the next one I try. I actually use two concealers....one for dark circles and then I add the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in Brightener. Game changer...you definitely need this!

  11. I haven't tried any of these! I have used the NYC brand, and the Maybelline brand which have both worked well for me. I don't use them often though.

  12. I used Benefit's Erase Paste for years until you converted me over to the NARS Creamy Concealer, now you've got me thinking about UD's Naked Skin ;-)

  13. I never started using concealer until about 2 years ago and now I am completely hooked. Cannot leave the house without it! I agree the wand/applicator is so crucial. I haven't tried that Benefit one yet but adding it to the list!

  14. I've always wanted to love Erase Paste but I hate that they only have three shades because my skin needs somewhere between the fair and medium shade! My go to's are the NARS (thanks to you!) and Bare Minerals Stroke of Light for "no makeup" days. I want to try the Maybelleine, too - can't beat the price!

  15. The Mac is the only one I haven't tried. I totally agree that the bottom three are all amazing! Erase Paste was my go-to for a long time, and I am currently using the Nars, but have also used the Naked Skin (my favorite!) I think the Nars is definitely more of a highlighting concealer and I use it differently than I do others.

  16. The MAC pro Longwear concealer is definitely my go to, holy grail of concealers. I use the beauty blender to apply it.

  17. I love the NARS one, it covers everything! My absolutely favorite is the Bobbi Brown corrector. It's technically supposed to be for under your eyes but a little spot here and there won't hurt. It blends in so well and stays on all day, even if you're sweating a lot.

  22. The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is my ride or die - I can't live without it! Actually,I have to order one so thanks for the reminder. :) I want to try that Maybelline concealer too in the Brightening shade because I've heard it's a dupe for the Bobbie Brown corrector that I use.

  23. Thanks so much for sharing these! I always have a hard time figuring out what concealer I need, and for what, but this is a great guide!! Def going to have to grab these!

  24. I can not recommend Maybelline Age Rewind enough! I use it every single day. I've tried so many concealers and always go back to this one because it's so wonderful. I use the brightener shade under my eyes, along my nose and under my nose. I'm fair and it's the perfect color.

Try it out! I think you'll love it!

  26. Thanks for sharing some reviews on these! I think that I'm going to check out the NARS because I use their foundation. However all of you ladies have talked about how great the MAC one is!! I was just talking to my girls at work about concealers yesterday too haha. I'm using a Bobbi Brown one in a little compact and its creamy. I also keep having this problem where I get raccoon eyes. I have been setting the concealer and it's helping a little bit, but I'm not sure if its the concealer, eyeliner, or mascara. Ugh. lol. Thanks again lady and I hope that you have a fab day!! :-)

  33. I use the Bare Minerals concealer and the only gripe I have, like the Erase Paste - I have to use my finger - or I could buy a concealer brush, but, dude - who wants to do that ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. The erase paste sounds like it gives great coverage. Luckily I don't get dark circles so I don't need it for that reason. I love the beauty blender sponge. I actually use one that looks the same but is $6 at Ulta.

  35. Concealer is my FAVORITE make-up product by far! Thanks for the recommendations! I'll have to check these out! :)

  36. I've been using the Maybelline Age Rewind and the Master Concealer lately - both have been great. The age rewind is prob better for touch ups though. I need to get a new concealer because I'm starting to get too tan for the current shades that I have. I'm tempted to go back to the erase paste again.

  42. I use all the same concealers as you except for the MAC one. I use MAC Mineralize concealer, I like it better than the pro one. I find it to be more hydrating as well. I always set my concealer with the nars setting powder. It works great.

  43. i haven't tried any of these because they are a wee bit out of my comfort price range. but you know i love the maybelline one, it's super cheap so you can't go wrong ;)

  44. I'm definitely going to give the Urban Decay weightless concealer a try because I unfortunately NEED concealer but I don't like heavy feeling makeup, which most concealers feel like to me! Great post, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! XO -Kim

  45. Maybeline's Age Rewind sucks. I don't think it covers well at all. If you Google it you will see a ton of reviews that agree. Everyone is different though and you may love it but I am not a fan. I have to try that MAC concealer. There is one right across the Street and I always mean to go but then forget.

  47. I have had the Mac and Naked ones on my list to try for awhile. I used Naked foundation so I was thinking about going with Naked concealer too. I have a serious issue with creasing under my eyes no matter what I use....Ugh why does it have to crease?!?! I use setting powder and everything.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have really sensitive skin, so I always stick with Clinque. I love that brand!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Erase paste is my "got to" concealer! I love it and apply it with a little concealer brush but I'm going to have to try these other ones out too!

  50. Great picks! I recently splurged on the Nars concealer, and I've been obsessed with it ever since! I just bought the Naked concealer, and I'm excited to try it. I really want to try the MAC one! I've used the Maybelline Age Rewind... I like it, but I don't know if it's the Holy Grail concealer that people make it out to be.... it's worth trying since it's a reasonable price. Oh, and I totally agree with you about the Beauty Blender... it is EVERYTHING!

  51. I need to break down and try one of these. Foundation you can get away with using lower end. With the right tools, application, and tricks, you can really make them work. Concealer is a different story. Almost all I've tried look drying, melt away, or cake up. Not cute. These four I've heard over and over in terms of greatness. Hm.... I'll have to try!

  54. I use the MAC one for any redness I have around my nose and cheeks but never for my under eye area. Because it's thicker (like you said) it creases more and I find it works better for larger flatter areas. I use the Maybelline Age Rewind for under my eyes and I love it! I just ran out and need more ASAP!

  56. I have a friend who loves the MAC ProLongwear so much that she uses is as foundations -- major coverage! And I have been hearing about Erase Paste for years and have never tried it. How does is last? I always thought it would be so creamy and would crease.

  58. These all look really good. I just bought the Garnier bb cream the anti acne version and I really like it! It really does clear up blemishes very quickly. Before I only used concealer to spot treat and a dusting of bronzer, but I really love the look of the BB cream. I thought you mentioned you liked that brand before.

  59. I've actually had experience with all four concealers you mention. My favorite right now is NARS, you're right it's great! I could never get the Erase Paste to match my skin tone (too fair LOL) so I had to give it away (BUMMED) but nevertheless.... I tried the MAC Pro Longwear on three separate occasions (I once tried out a too-dark shade from a friend and twice in store) and fell in love with the higher pigmentation. Like you mention I know I would use it for getting "all dolled up"!! Unfortunately the last few times I went to buy it they did not have NC15 which is the shade that JUSTTT matches my skin tone. I'm due for another check soon. Hopefully it's in stock!! Thanks for sharing your concealers, it was a nice post to read through!!

  61. Concealer is one product where I'm constantly testing out new brands. I love the NARs concealer as well but agree that it's more of a highlighter. I've tried the Maybeline age rewind and while I love the applicator the coverage isn't great.

  73. I've been back and forth on the first three for a while now so now I'm even more tempted to try! I think the IT Cosmetics concealer I have is probably similar to the MAC because it's a thicker consistency and gives really good coverage. I stuck with a really light shade of it, so it looks a little bit intense now, haha, so I need a darker summer option & definitely want something more lightweight-- maybe the UD will be next!
