Love/Hate Tag

You may have seen the Love/Hate tag floating around blogland and I've been tagged by a few great ladies including Amanda, Nikki , Claire & Andrea so it's high time I participated!

Loves ||

1. Sushi!!! My husband jokes that he never in his life thought he would eat as much sushi as he has with me in the last 5 years!! It's a weekly meal for me, usually on Friday and yes I realize that makes me super predictable!

2. Bags!! Big, small, tote, cross body - doesn't matter I have a serious love affair with purses!

3. A glass of Relax Riesling on a Friday night

4. Exclamation points!! I use them all the time and don't think I use periods unless I'm in a work setting and even then I have to force myself to use a period! (see exclamation point)

5. Office supplies - specifically pens and stationary. I don't think I can say no to a great pen or a pretty notebook.

6. Travelling to a new place - there is something so fun about exploring and let's be real having a break from reality.

7. Event planning - more specifically wedding planning! Being able to see my dream job come to life this year has been unbelievable!

8. Seeing my nieces and nephew grow up. Being so close to them is pretty special and they are at the age when hanging out with them is more than just babysitting - it's actually listening to their thoughts and opinions and they are just so much fun!

9. Instagram - my husband once asked why I liked it so much and my only response was " I just like looking at pretty things" the same can be said for Pinterest

10. Blogging! I never in my life thought that I would become so consumed (in a good way) with blogging, but here we are almost 2 years later and I don't remember what it was like before I had this little space. The best plus has been all the amazing people I've been able to meet.

11. BONUS! I added this one in because I think it's the best feeling! Having a really great workout - one that makes you want to workout more!

Hates (more so pet peeves than hate)||

1. Being late and more so when people are late to meet me! If I take the time to be on time, I expect that same from them.

2. People that don't understand the proper etiquette when community on the train. This is especially evident when people don't take their backpacks off on the train, don't let other's off before they try to get on the train and a slew of other things I could literally rant on and on about - oh and I did in this post

3. Leaving the house with the weather being absolutely perfect only to try to make it home in torrential downpours - this one is sort of on me because I should check the weather more carefully!

4. Chipped nails on me! I can't stand having the tiniest of chips on my nails - I need to take all the polish off immediately - it's honestly the strangest thing!

5. How much social media has infiltrated our lives to the point where I need to actually force myself to not reach for my phone at dinner!! I think I'm getting better at disconnecting at night, but still not to where I'd like to be.

6. When telemarketers call. I don't think this needs further explanation.

7. Being so hungry that nothing sounds good. Does this happen to anyone else?

8. Clipping nails in public, specifically at work. I don't know how anyone can think it's appropriate to do this.

9. When a fork (or any utensil) scrapes the dish and makes a terrible sound that permeates through my entire body and gives me chills.

10. When the fire alarm in our apartment goes off. I go into panic mode and start waving pillows back and forth like a crazy woman!!

Do we have any of the same loves and hates in common? What are some quirky things you want to share?

  2. Hahaha I use exclamation points all the time too! Probably way too often! I realized yesterday I sent a work email that contained 4 sentences and no periods, whoops! Sorry but you know how I feel about sushi :) Ill let you eat all of the sushi for me! And yes to the fork on the plate sound! OMG horrible!

  3. Fun post lady, I have mine ready to go for next week!

I love sushi and exclamation points too!!!!!!! And also that feeling after a good workout, it's the best!

I hate chipped nails, being late and ugh that sound is the worst!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Love this! I'm completely obsessed with bags too! Whether it's from Target or Saks, I'm not discriminating. Traveling and a glass of wine are right up my alley...preferable together :) And yes, people who cannot wait for others to exit a train are beyond rude! Total pet peeve for me too! (I guess I like exclamation points too lol!)

  6. I think I love all of your loves (except relax Riesling only because I haven't had it yet) and hate all of your hates too. Another list of reasons why we are friends!!! :)

  7. I feel the exact same about chipped nails! Or when I get shellac and they start to grow out, I cannot stand to see that space near my cuticles. Have to take the polish off ASAP! Totally agree about sushi too… we are obsessed! We had a sushi bar at our wedding reception which was a huge hit!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I've never really had sushi so I can't say I love it or hate it. My sister and I were supposed to get some for my birthday but that fell through so she'll have to take me another time. I love exclamation points but want to be careful about not overusing them, especially at work too! Chipped nails are an immediate removal for me too. Forks on the plate, *shudder* and YES to Instagram and all the pretty things!

  9. Yay B, you did it, so fun to read your loves and peeves!!! My favorite Riesling is Relax too! In fact I need to get some, drained the bottle last weekend. Lol. Oh I can hear that fork scrap now, yucky, my hurting ears!! Have a super day lovely lady!!

  11. LOL you can count me in for exclamation points too, I can't get enough! My cousin asked me once why I use so many - I can't help it I'm a happy person, haha. And sushi and wine - you're my kind of girl. And yes about the utensil sound and the nail clipping - yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I have to force myself not to use exclamation points in work correspondence because it's so unnatural for me! Relax reisling is my all time favorite too, it's making me thirsty just thinking about it at 6 AM lol.

  13. Sushi, bags and wine......the perfect trifecta. Seriously why do people clip their nails in public? I saw someone doing their toenails on a plane once and the flight attendant actually moved me because she felt so bad that I was sitting next to that individual. So gross! On a lighter note. I love blogging as well!!! How else could I have met you?!?!?! I was thinking about our back in the day emailing and how Gary wasn't convinced I was a real person lol. The early years ;) xoxoxoxoxo

  14. Ohhhhhh that sound of silverware scraping a dish makes my ears bleed too. I'm quivering just thinking about it! But YES to a good workout, a glass of Riesling, and traveling to new places. Travel is hands down my favorite hobby :-D

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gross to people clipping their nails in public!! I saw a lady do that on the bus once, so gross. On that note, I hate it when people don't follow bus or train etiquette as well. I have quite the list of pet peeves, which I guess means I should do this post some time too haha. I'm with you on the bags and traveling too. I love blogging too and I'm so happy that we have gotten to know each other. :-)

  16. Such a cute post! I use exclamation points all the time and hate telemarketers!

    ReplyDelete
  17. What a fun post!! I'd never seen this before. We share a lot of loves/hates. My number one dislike is being late or someone else being late. I make the point to be early to EVERYTHING. And I LOVE bags, obviously!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm totally the same with exclamation points. I over use them horribly and I hear my high school English teachers in the back of my mind yelling at me. (; You are so lucky your husband eats sushi. I want it all.the.time. My fiance, not so much. In fact he finds it disgusting. I feel you on the nails. I don't care how tired I am, I will stay up late to make sure I have perfect nails!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Rude people, late people and chips nails are some of my pet peeves! Even though I have a baby with another on the way, I'm always on time. Always. I always have been and always will be. There is NO excuse for tardiness, especially when you're wasting other people's time!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am a total over user of explanation points!! Relax Reisling is one of my favorites too! The nail clipping totally annoys me too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I use exclamation points, too! I also am with you on the nail chipping and the being so hungry you don't know what you want to eat! xo

    ReplyDelete
  22. #4 and #11!!!! Why use periods when you can use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am addicted to working out! That is why I do it 1-2 a day! Feel SO much better afterwards!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha! Such a funny post! (I clearly love exclamation points too!!!!)

xx, Leah / Eat Pray Wear Love

    ReplyDelete
  24. Haha! YES--I agree with so many of these! (Clearly I identify with the love of exclamation points).

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am in love with pretty bags but actually having to wear them all the time? I'd rather carry nothing at all, ha ha! Maybe it's the freedom I feel when I don't have to take a bag packed full of diapers, wipes, snacks, etc, HA! I must admit, I'm NOT a sushi fan... which is crazy, I know! YES to the exclamation points... I have to hold myself back in blog posts, ha ha! I'm obsessed with Instagram, if it isn't obvious by my over posting ;)
We have so many of the same pet peeves! Especially the chipped nails, it's why I started doing shellac!

  26. This is such a great post! I can relate to SO many of these! I'm with you on the exclamation points. My husband was reading my post and was like "why do you have three exclamation points in a row?" haha I just can't help it :) And I can totally relate to being so hungry that nothing sounds good. My husband can't understand it and I thought it was just me! Happy Thursday!

  27. I love sushi, I mean really, it's the best meal out there. My husband eats it as well, but not nearly as much as I do. At least 5 of the things you wrote in your love section I'm in total agreement with. And big bags of course, I tote around my longchamp like there's no tomorrow.

  29. I nodded along to EVERY SINGLE POINT you just made! Purses!!!! Yes. Exclamation point!!!! Hell yes! Telemarketers! Oh hell no. I am so mean to them.

  30. This is a fun tag. Love those quotes you included.

  31. Sushi is just too good to not eat all the time! And as you can see I also have an exclamation point problem, one that definitely makes it's way into work emails way too often haha!

  34. Sushi is the best! I also use exclamation points like crazy and when my husbands proof reads my texts or blog post, he'll yell the sentence if it ends with one!:)

    ReplyDelete
  35. haha i love a good exclamation point (or three) too!!! :) and ppl who dont know where to stand/sit on buses and trains drive me NUTS! i get it this is your first time on a train but you do NOT need to stand next to the door if your stop is three stops away.. we will let you out! promise :) xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  36. Mmm sushi. I think I want sushi today. I freaking love it! I am with you on so many of your loves...and I completely agree with every last one of your pet peeves!!!! As I sit here and listen to someone clipping their nails. AHHHHHH

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is such a fun prompt, I have it on my calendar for July! I'm with you on most of your pet-peeves, especially the being on time thing! If someone is more than five minutes late meeting me somewhere, I usually leave. Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  38. So much fun, these are great! Ahh sushi is the best! And traveling is a must! We get antsy if we don't go somewhere every few months. Haha, omg, the sound of someone scraping their plate is the worst! It's pretty much nails on a chalkboard! xo Winks and Eyerolls

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes! Sushi, Riesling, Blogging! :) And hallelujah to hating when people are late. I try to be "laid back" with it but I think it's so disrespectful for people to be late. My sister thinks I'm uptight because of it but I think it's rude unless there's a good reason :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. We know you love your sushi! I do as well but it's probably more of a monthly craving ;-) And yes to traveling of course...you actually inspired me to plan a day trip for this weekend to go explore another city...weather permitting..

    ReplyDelete
  41. Bags and sushi all the way!!! Oh and shoes too def shoes 😋

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh gosh - I DESPISE that fork scraping sound.
I wish I was that on top of chipped nails - I'll leave chipped paint on my nails till you barely see it anymore #lazy
You like exclamation points - I love periods.... use them all the time.... I REALLY must pause when I talk :) haha

    ReplyDelete
  43. I swear your blog always makes me crave sushi!!! Haha that is a good thing though! And I totally have a love/hate relationship with my phone and social media - I have so much fun on it but at other times I find it a pain and hate how attached I am to it!

    ReplyDelete
  44. We have a lot of these in common! I love Riesling, office supplies, travelling, & planning. I hate tardiness, telemarketers, getting so hungry that I no longer want anything, & how much social media has infiltrated our lives. I am getting better at just walking away from my phone or putting it on airplane mode when I'm out.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love exclamation points too! When texting if people don’t use them I always wonder why are they being so short, ha! Of course traveling to new places too!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love what you said about your nieces and nephew. That's so sweet! All the kiddos in my life are still babies, but I can't wait to see them keep on growing into little people :) and also, we have that sushi love in common, though I don't have it nearly enough. Might be time to start that Friday tradition for myself too, haha ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Totally with you on commuting etiquette (you probably knew that was coming, LOL) and chipped nails on me. No no no. It drives me insane.

Instagram is my favorite!! I'll be blowing it up on vacation next week.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ugh Commuters!! How do people seriously not know how to ride the train!? It's common decency! I can't stand my chipped nails either, if you break a nail do you have to make them all the same length too? Of course I love your loves but the hates I think truly bond us! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. totally miss sushi..... it is a no go while pregers! Also, I cannot stand Telemarketers, they drive me crazy!! And clearly, I am also a fan of !!!!!

    ReplyDelete

  53. Oh my gosh - Relax Riesling is THE BEST! I am definitely having a big ol' glass (bottle) as soon as I pop this kid out! I also use exclamation points after every single sentence and I literally have to go through my work emails after I type them and replace them with periods (what? are exclamation points not professional?!) Annnd finally, there is a kid that I work with who clips his nails like once a week at his desk. It drives me BANANAS!!!

  54. I loooove me some sushi too! What do you normally get?! :) Just reading fork scrapes made me cringe!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have a serious love affair with bags too. It's been going on for years now and I don't think it will ever fade!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I hate social media. I miss the days when people had blogs/online journals and used messaged boards. Even MySpace was not as bad...people did not feel the need to share everything right as it was happening.

Is riesling sweet? I have never tried it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Omg..I seriously was considering trimming my nails at work today..eek! haha...I do have a private office so maybe that's a little better. Love these little tidbits about you.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh my gosh, I don't get the nail clipping thing!! Our receptionist does it and you can hear him all over the office - when did that become a thing?!?

    ReplyDelete
  59. With you on the chipped nail polish! It doesn't bother me on other people... but I can't stand it on myself.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh my gosh! I have a post sitting in my drafts with the nail clipping and scraping silverware on it! A long time ago, I had a teacher that got on to a girl for brushing her hair in class and told her that personal hygiene belonged at home and I've never thought it was okay since. I'm even funny about filing a broken nail in public!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I totally relate to almost all of these. Except the train and nieces. I have no nieces and rarely take public transport - but if I did, Im sure Id get annoyed with clueless idiots on there too.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm definitely with you on the train etiquette! I commute into the city in Chicago and there are so many things that irk me about it on a daily basis (e.g., people who listen to music/watch YouTube without headphones, put their belongings on the seat next to them so no one can sit down, leave the bathroom door open, etc.). You're definitely not alone on that one!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Love this way too much and now we're wondering why we haven't given ourselves a specific sushi day so we always know we get some lol. And we're so with you about technology infiltrating our lives. It's almost too hard to live without our phones now and such a struggle to remember to not reach for them just for a quick check. (oh, and we say yes to all the exclamation points!!!!!)

    xx 365Hangers

  64. Yes to travelling to a new place and pretty office supplies! I also love Relax Riesling. It's so yummy! I think I may need to pick up a bottle this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Mmmm sushi, yes please!! I'm also a total travel bug! It just makes life so much more fun, huh? Xo

  66. Traveling to new places. My love number one. Hating when people are late - last party I threw my friends came 1h, 1h15 and 1h30 late.

  68. Loved reading your list!! I love bags of all kinds, they make an entire outfit in my opinion! (Also I love exclamation points too!!) Instagram is such a fun place to find pretty things, I use that social media platform more than any other. I can't stand people who are late and I'm the same exact way with chipped nails even if theres a tiny chip, the whole thing is coming off. I need to get better at disconnecting from my phone at nighttime.

    ReplyDelete
  69. This was such a fun post-- I'm definitely with you on the scraping noises-- eeek! And I also use way too many explanation points, haha, I sometimes will go back and change a few when I'm commenting sometimes because I don't realize I use them instead of a period most of the time. When other people are late is one of my biggest pet peeves too. I get that things happen, but when people are late just because they didn't leave on time it drives me crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  70. oh my gosh when the fork scrapes the plate it makes me want to throw my plate at the person who did it. i never do that, how can other people not know how annoying and nails-on-a-chalkboard it is?!
i'm the same with nails, which is why i have given up painting mine haha. they chip immediately and i can't stand it! and yes to instagram (and pinterest) and pretty things!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I definitely got caught in one of those torrential downpours last night - so not a fan!! I love traveling to a new place and I'm totally a stationary and pen junkie!!

  72. I have a co-worker who's a nail clipper. Drives us insane! Just so gross! The fork scraping too, ugh.
Love you loves! Traveling and office supplies for the win!
