Weekend Wear | Style Inspiration

Weekend Wear Style Inspiration
You'd think working in the corporate world, I'd be itching to get into my weekend wardrobe, but it's actually quite the opposite. With work wear I know what my staples are. With my weekend wear, it's always up in the air and I feel like there are endless possibilities, which on the one hand is great, but on the other is quite challenging! I wanted to round up what I hope will become my staple weekend wardrobe and also share some inspirations with you! I'm looking for things that are classic enough to take me through more than one season and also things I can wear for many years to come!

Weekend Wear Style Inspiration//

You'll see some pants, jeans jackets and even a sweater or two and that's because New England weather is totally unpredictable even in the Summer! It can be 80s one minute and the next day drop down to the 60s so we have to be prepared for anything!

So it appears I have a thing for stripes...

I really didn't pick anything that I couldn't recreate on my own or that was too fashion forward!! Here's what I'm looking to add to my wardrobe to recreate some of these looks!
I added these J.Crew Ankle Zip Cargo pants to my collection last week and wore them pretty much all weekend!! I paired them with a solid navy top and also paired it with this plain hot pink tee shirt
Obviously I had to include a striped shirt here because it appears every outfit I want to recreate requires it!
I'm still on the hunt for a pair of colored skinny jeans - not quite sure if I'm leaning towards mint or coral, but I'm really looking for more of a denim material than just stretchy, so if you have any ideas let me know! Right now, I'm thinking these J. Brand ones might be the ones to go with! They are a tad more expensive, but are actual denim and I think I'll have them for years to come!
I've gone back and forth on chambray and I think there are so many outfits I can pull together with this shirt I just need to go ahead and get one! I'm having a harder time deciding between this darker one or a lighter version - what are your thoughts?!

I pretty much live in my denim jacket this time of year and it was such a great purchase from H&M last year!

Those are a few things I've got my eye on! What are some of your weekend wear staples?

  15. Love all these inspiration pieces! I find myself gravitating towards the Lauren Conrad look, those suede boots are gorgeous. It isn't too "heavy" for warmer weather and keep toes nice and warm for winter! Great post xx

  21. i feel the same about weekend clothes. i end up hanging out in my workout gear more often than not, or sweatpants and if i actually do something i am overwhelmed with all the options, and at the same time, lack of options. haha.

  22. I feel like I'm the opposite. I dress so casual for work, I want to get fancier on the weekends but never quite strike the right balance. All of these photos are such lovely inspiration. I think I may need a pair of red shorts now.

  27. I LOOOOVE those cargo pants!! So bummed they're sold out in my size! And I always vote yes for a chambray shirt - I have a light one and literally wear it all the time. At least once or twice a week!

  28. I totally have a thing for stripes too. And I am dying over that stripe shirt with the white shorts and the hat! How perfect is that for a causal weekend look?! Great inspiration, Biana!

  29. Loving the pants in the first photo! Can you tell that I'm all about the comfy clothes these days?! HA!
I loooooove the look of jean jackets but can't stand the restriction they put on my arms. Do any of them totally relax and give you freedom to move around? I've had a certain jean jacket for YEARS and I still can't reach past a certain point, or raise my arms all the way above my head before the material stops me. Ugh! So I definitely avoid wearing it now that I have Mia to chase around! But seriously, I adore the look of them!

  30. Buy both a dark and light chambray and you won't be disappointed! I wear my light one with super dark jeans and my darker one with everything else!

  31. Lots of great inspiration here! You never can go wrong with stripes. Since I dress casually daily, I struggle with what to wear, too - I'm saving this post for inspiration, too!

  39. Girl I know exactly what you mean! I find it sooo much easier to dress during the work week and come Saturday I stand at my closet forever trying to make something work. Most of the reason is because I work in a frigid office and lots of my business casual tops are for layering. Which isn't something I want to do on a hot Saturday. Baby steps. I'm slowly getting better. (;

  40. Stripes just WORK for anything - especially layering. Love your inspiration pieces :)

  41. Great choices! I love the striped top with the fedora!

  49. I need to get those pants. I have been lusting after them for so long. I love New England weather in that you can layer so much (which I know can also be a huge pain.) I vote coral denim because I think you'll get more use out of them and won't get sick of the color as fast!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love that it can still be cool in New England in the summer - must be so refreshing every once in a while! All are fabulous but I'm really loving the coral top and scarf with the nude heels!

  52. I love all skinny pants, jeans, chinos... I think the silhouette is just so flattering. Perfect with heels or flats. I have multiple colors and styles. I love the drawstring slouchy pair you have up first though. And the jeans with the big distressed holes in the knees!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sooo many cute items! I want to get a lighter chambray shirt- right now I have a darker chambray tunic which is great in fall/winter but doesn't really work once it's warm out. I wouldn't mind having a fun summer hat either ;)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh I LOVE mint and coral skinny jeans! I need some coral ones. All of those looks are cute...especially the one with the orange shirt and floral scarf though it's way too hot here now for even light scarves.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love the first look! I want to find a pair of relaxed pants that really work on me. And you 100% need to get a chambray! All year long I throw it on with different pants, jeans, skirts, tied over dresses, basically with everything! They're so versatile!
