How to Fake False Lashes

How to Fake False Lashes

I have a confession to make- I can’t wear false lashes!! They feel so uncomfortable to me and I also start blinking way more than normal if I have them on! Over the last few years I’ve been able to fake falsies with four makeup products and one trick that makes all the difference.

How to Fake False Lashes

Step 1: Before priming your lashes – curling them is step one. I use the Tarte one from the perfect duo set.

Step 2: This to me makes all the difference! The primer is a must for lengthening and priming those lashes!  I change between Origins Underwear for lashesand Clinique’s Lash Primer. You’ll notice I’m pointing to the wrong eye πŸ™‚

How to Fake False Lashes

Step 3: For the mascaras I use Maybelline Lash Sensational and Benefit’s They’re Real. You could use any of your two favorite mascaras’s, but I like using a lengthening mascara and one that gives volume which both of these do! I have to hit a tangent and say that Maybelline’s Lash Sensational is literally my favorite drug store mascara ever!! I’m on my third tube and everything from the formula to the wand is perfect!

How to Fake False Lashes

Step 4: To finish you want to take your thumb or pointer finger and push your lashes back. The heat from your finger sets the mascara in place and gives it even more curl. I learned this little trick from one of the makeup artists at Sephora and have used it ever since!

How to Fake False Lashes

Once you’ve finished these four steps your lashes will be long, curled and voluminous! If you look closely you can see that my lashes reach my eyebrows!

Do you have any secrets to great lashes? What’s your favorite mascara?

Great tips! I love mascara – it makes the biggest impact I think! I always fan out my lashes on the outside corner and always coat the top and underside of the lashes for extra definition!

Great make-up tips. Lately, I just keep buying all kinds of different mascaras to try new brands and compare them to the others I've used. I still think Estee Lauders Mascara gave me the best definition and length.
