June Favorites

Happy Wednesday friends and more importantly happy July!! Somehow we blinked and we are more than halfway through the year and into one of the busiest month's for us all! I wanted to share some favorites from this last month and get ready because there is something for everyone!!

e.l.f. Primer

This was a last minute purchase for me and I couldn't be happier with my results thus far. I don't normally use primers, but started to notice my makeup getting into fine lines. After using the primer it doesn't do that anymore at all! I was a little weary trying an e.l.f. product since I didn't have good luck with the setting spray, but this primer is awesome! The smell is a little odd, but goes away quickly! For $6 I'll deal with it!

Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub

This scrub could not have come into my life at a better time! I have been using it every single time I self tan, which has been on a weekly basis! It really gets rid of all the dead skin and I also use it as my shaving cream because once I've fully massaged the scrub into my legs it becomes even smoother and I'm able to get the closest shave ever! Even Gary mentioned how smooth my legs were! You get a lot of product and it will take a long time to use up, which I love when I'm really enjoying using something!

L'Oreal Makeup Extender

I bought this product after mentioning it in a post back in May. It has 100% lived up to the hype and I could not be happier with how my makeup stays put after applying it to the face. I will say it's a little "wetter" than the Urban Decay Setting Spray so it takes a little longer to dry (by maybe 30 seconds) but for being half the price I'll take it! It's a great product and I can't see the difference in how long my makeup stays between this and the UD product.

Papermate Pen

Like I said this was a month full of random favorites, but this pen is amazing! I love how easy it is to write with and the best part is that it doesn't bleed through pages like the fine point sharpies do!! I ordered a box because I'm obsessed!

The Underwriting

I finished one of the books that was on my summer reading list and it was really good! I'll give a warning to you all though - it's heavily finance driven and the author uses a lot of industry jargon about SEC Filings and what happens when companies go public which is good if that interests you - not so good if finance bores you! The overall story is really good and the author does an INCREDIBLE job of weaving all the character's in together! It's also really cool because you can draw the parallel's between the dating app in the book and Tinder which is used in real life.

Townhouse Focaccia Tuscan Cheese Crackers

Another random but one we literally could not keep these in the house - these crackers might as well be crack they are so good!! I swear to you that they will not even last a full two days in your house! You don't even need cheese or any other spread to go with it - they are good on their own!

  3. I love the focacia bread I get at Panera, so those crackers sound so delicious! I'll definitely be trying the ELF primer and the L'Oreal setting spray, always looking to save some $$. I love using a scrub to shave with!

  4. That body scrub sounds incredible! My skin is super sensitive (my legs get reeeally itchy if I use anything other than Jergens lotion!) so I'm always apprehensive to try stuff like that but you really sold it to me up there :)

  8. I need to try that E.L.F primer! I usually use the Benefit Porefessional and love it, but I need a cheaper alternative! Did you say cheese? These are calling my name.... xoxo! Happy July :)

  9. So glad to hear The Underwriting was good! I just bought The Knockoff but haven't had time to start it yet. The Underwriting is second on my list of books to read!! Also, these crackers look amazing! I haven't seen them in the store, I'm going to have to look for them!

  11. I'm very intrigued by that L'Oreal setting spray. I've been using UD's but will always go for a more affordable option if it provides just as good results. And those crackers look delish! I'm sure they wouldn't last in my house either ;-)

    Happy July <3

  18. I love a good pen - Le Pen is presently my favorite for the same reasons you like the papermate! They come in several colors too, which makes this girl's heart happy! ;)

  19. This is so funny, but I keep losing all of my pens, and I was just thinking of how I need to go buy a pack of pens, and until I saw this, I forgot how much I used to love those pens. Definitely going to get some Papermates now!

  21. There is nothing like a good pen. My favorite is the Uni Ball Jet Stream ink ones. Love love them. And I also love the sharpie pens. Someone just stole my favorite pen and I'm furious. I gotta start marking them again so I know who is stealing them. Lol.

  22. I still want to read that book but have so many others to read too…I am a huuuuge reader. I also want to try that scrub!

I'll have to check out that book, it sounds super intriguing!

  29. Great round up!! I love pens like that too haha. Primer is always necessary, and that one sounds nice. Definitely checking out that setting spray too. The UD one is fab, but the price tag is not fab. Those crackers sound really good too!! :-) Thanks for sharing and I hope that you have a great day!!!

  30. I actually love that you have a pen included! Everyone talks about makeup and hair - I don't want more of those products (except that salt scrub...) but things like planners, pens, weekender bags, apps - you know, the stuff we really truly use each day! I want more of that!

    ReplyDelete
  31. That makeup extender is such a great find, definitely going to have to check it out.

  42. I am so specific on which pens I use....mainly because I have terrible hand writing so if I have a bad pen on top of that.....sometimes I can't even read my own handwriting awful right? Good to know about the elf primer!

  50. Some e.l.f. products really reflect their price tags, but some are really amazing diamonds in the rough. I am a faithful user of a few of their items, and every time I've used a primer from the brand I've loved it! They really do that well. And thanks for sharing your thoughts on the L'oreal setting spray. I've seen it around but keep going back and forth on buying it. Good to see a thumbs up from you!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't know if I have seen the e.l.f primer before! Glad you're liking it. And that scrub sounds fantastic!

  60. The summer heat has been wreaking havoc on my makeup so I think I'm going to have to try the makeup extender and see how it does because I'm not quite ready to invest in the Urban Decay Setting Spray. Thanks for sharing! - Svetlana @ Svetlana @Life with a Side of Wine

  61. I purchased the elf primer in the white bottle a few months back and it scarred me for life. Maybe, since it's SO inexpensive, I can look into this one. I'm pretty oily though, would you see this being something that would increase that?

    I'm a die hard fan of the Loreal setting spray! I love the way that stuff feels on my face. A little birdie told me Hard Candy has one too that's $5 and even better than the Loreal one. Haven't had a chance to try it yet though. (;

  62. I am so picking up the elf primer and l'oreal makeup setter. I am all about less expensive versions on great products - thanks for sharing!

  72. I have never tried a make-up extender. I am curious.

I decided to try NYC liquid eyeliner since it was only $2 at my husband's store chain. The brush is very easy to work with.

  73. OK that's two people mentioning the setting spray this month so I'm going to have to get that once my Skindinavia ones finally run out! I love that you included a favourite pen! I use the Pilot Fixion pens for my planners/notebooks because they are erasable without the eraser dust and I'm OCD about crossing out mistakes haha.

  76. I'm always weary with E.L.F too but just a couple dollars, it's always worth the try! And I will be picking up some of the L'Oreal setting spray. I almost picked up some more UD just the other day but couldn't make myself shell out that much money!
