Happy Friday friends!! I can't even believe we leave tonight for our trip...it feels like it's taken forever to get here, yet somehow time flew by!! Couldn't let this Friday pass without linking up with Amanda and April for some favorites!!
One of the first meals I'll be making when we come back is this shrimp and asparagus risotto. I've made risotto from scratch a few times and it's really not hard at all - perfect for a cold night...which we'll be getting a lot of! Also did you see my take on stuffed chicken parm earlier this week - it didn't disappoint!
For some reason the classes on Thursday's at my gym aren't all that great, so I decided I was going to do some cardio, but didn't just want to run - because I am a terrible treadmill runner I wanted to do a HIIT workout and found this old one from Tone It Up! Seriously thought my heart was going to come out of my chest - but such a great workout!
Favorite (newish) App
Last year I talked about this app called Next Issue, well at some point they changed to Texture, but remained with the same concept! I stopped using it for about 5 months, but missed it so I signed up again! Think of this as Netflix for magazines! You basically subscribe to Texture and for $9.99 a month you get unlimited magazines downloaded to your device - you even share with your friends or family - as to 5! Gary and I share an account! There is an option for $14.99 to get weekly magazines too, but I already get US Weekly, so I didn't feel the need to expand to that option! It's amazing and I'm so excited that my carry-on will be lighter for this trip since all the magazines will be on my iPad - except InStyle, still get that one delivered! (not sponsored, just love the app!)
Favorite Base Coat
I took a break from gel manicures over the last few weeks and found a new (to me) base coat. I've tried so many base coats over they years that all claim to help the nail polish stay on longer, from Essie to Sally Hansen NOTHING worked...but then on a whim I picked up this quick dry base coat from Revlon and wouldn't you know it actually worked! I'm talking no chips for an at home manicure for 3 days! That's a miracle for me, so if you normally make it 5 or 6 days without a chip, I'm sure this would work crazy well for you! It has a sticky base that helps the nail polish stick to it - but unlike Orly Bonder it actually worked for me!
//This article is from almost a year ago, but it talks about best times to post on Instagram
