Confessions

In almost three years of blogging I've never done an actual confessions post so I thought why not?! The truth is, this entire year has been one of the busiest that I can remember, and I feel like I need a little brain dump to let some things out! Let's start right now...I'm actually eating a freeze pop as I write this because it's so hot in my apartment!

I Confess...
|| I haven't done meal planning or been been full on grocery shopping in a month! Between weekends away, trips, our move coming up & just not wanting to deal with it - I haven't gone! One of us will stop by Trader Joe's on the way home or something like that and just get something for that night. It's actually helped with snacking since we don't have any...so at least there's that!
|| Speaking of the move (because it seems like that's all I HAVE talked about) I am so over our apartment looking like a warehouse. Our living room has an entire section we can't even access because of boxes and things that come in daily! Our move is going to take 2 days...yes that's right because in Boston you have to move out on August 31st and you can't move into your new place until September 1st so technically if you're moving in Boston on that day - you're going to be homeless for like 12 hours. Thankfully we have family that wont let that happen to us! :)
|| I've watched more Olympics this year than ever before and I didn't realize how late into the night they go, but I can't seem to turn gymnastics off. I also never realized how into swimming I can be...I legit started screaming at the TV for Michael Phelps & Katie Ledecky.
|| I'm ready for all my fall clothes! My mom sent me home with a faux leather jacket that I can't wait to wear...so ya I'm going to need it to cool off about 20 degrees!
|| I have a daily quote for my desk that you're supposed to switch out for the "get up an go" you need for the day - I haven't changed it in months!! Should really get on that...
|| I have a serious cold brew addiction. I've never been a coffee person, I could always say no to a latte, but cold brew is a different story!! My cousin took this to the next level and sent me his homemade cold brew, which...let me tell you is even better than the one I get at Starbucks!
|| The styled shoot that we did a couple month's ago is going to be published and I can't even wait to share the details with you guys!! The goal was absolutely to have this shoot get published and the fact that it's going to happen makes me feel like we're legit now!
|| Our Bridal Pop Up Event is this Sunday and I'm hoping that it's a success! We are so excited about all the vendors that we have lined up....so let's just hope all the brides come out for it! i have nightmares that people won't show up...
|| My green thumb is more like a black thumb, but that doesn't stop me from buying flowers almost weekly. Trader Joe's must have some bionic roses, because the pink ones I picked up 9 days ago are still going strong!
|| I picked up some lunch on Monday ate a bite and ran into a meeting - came back the next day and totally forgot that I didn't eat lunch? In my 29 years of life - that has NEVER happened to me! Don't worry I more than made up for it at the Shake Shack opening that night! I think it was my subconscious knowing that I was going to eat a lot at the opening!
|| I've recently gotten into spin - mostly because I still don't know how to ride a real bike. In class this Monday, I was going super fast and legitimately thought - what if the bike comes off the hinge and I fly forward into the wall...I slowed down immediately! The instructor also likes to do these weird shoulder moves to work your arms and I looked around the room to confirm that we all looked like lunatics!
|| I feel like I'm on social media overload since InstaStory came out - I can't quite figure out if I should share the same things on snapchat and instagram or what? You know what I really want?! Someone to come up with one social media that does everything - so that we don't have to have so many apps on our phone and oh I don't know - interact with each other more! So guilty of having my phone connected to my hands at all times!
|| My next few months go a little something like this- move, NYC, wedding (guest), huge event for work, wedding (planning), wedding (planning), Nashville, wedding (guest)...I'm exhausted just thinking about it, but super excited for it all!
What are your confessions?

  1. I have turned into a big Olympics fan, too. I got into swimming this year and I have definitely been cheering at the TV for everyone, especially those two! You have so much going on - I don't blame you for not going grocery shopping or meal planning. Your bridal pop up sounds SO neat! People WILL come and it WILL be a success!

  2. Wow! I'm exhausted thinking about all your festivities too but you're gonna work them like a boss and be stunningly gorgeous in the process!!! Congrats on the shoot...good things happen to good, talented people!!!! 3. Wow you do have a really busy next few months! Excited for your move--can't wait to see your new place! Are you staying in the same area or moving to a different one?

  4. Girl, you have been crazy busy lately! Idk how you do it all!! I am obsessed withOlympics too--lots of late nights recently. I never knew that about the Boston moving laws--wow!

  5. OMG I can't believe that you can't move in to your new place until the next day! What's up with that!!? So glad you have family to help out! You have so much going on it sounds like super fun!!

  6. Ahh I'm sure you guys are so anxious to get into your new place- it's always so hard being in the in-between limbo, but it will be so great when you finally get to move in & start getting settled. Your mom has the best taste-- she always sends you the cutest things, loving that jacket! I took a spin class in college and remember it being so hard, but have been wanting to try it out again. I can't wait to hear how the pop-up goes-- I know it will be amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Good luck with pop event this weekend! I'm sure it will be just fabulous! And yes to watching more Olympics than ever and the cold brew addiction. I can't decide if it's a real obsession or I love it because it's so ridiculously hot! haha Also, can't believe you cannot move in the same day?! That's the craziest thing ever!

  8. Nothing like moving being even more difficult by requiring it to be two days... that's obnoxious Boston! I can't get enough cold brew! SO good!

  9. LOVE this post. I agree on sooooo many of these. I've been horrible about buying groceries and meal planning – if I don't make it to the grocery on Sunday, or if I have a lot of things planned for the week, it gives me a total mental block and I end up eating out for every meal. Yikes. Also YES the Olympics are killing my sleep schedule! Last night, I had every intention of getting in bed early, but I could not turn off the floor routines. Obsessed with Aly and Simone!!!

  10. I feel overloaded with Instagram stories too, and NO you shouldn't post the same thing in both places because it's redundant and I feel like my time is wasted when I'm watching the same stuff in both places. I'm still going to keep my stories to snap and instagram for photos. Especially since insta doesn't have filters haha.
Congrats on the pop up getting published! That's huge!!
And what the what on the moving dates? You HAVE to move on the 31st and you can't move in till the 1st?? This is ALL over Boston? That's the weirdest and dumbest thing I've ever heard!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I love these posts! Yes to fall weather, although I am so far away from that I might as well not even look forward to it. I'm right there with you on cold brew! I could care less about coffee usually but cold brew is SO good. And now for my confession, I've barely watched any of the Olympics this year! Yikes. <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  12. That's why I never started Snapchat - I didnt want too many apps going so I'm loving the Instagram Story feature now.
I so laughed about the calendar not being moved in a long time :)
THAT JACKET!!!!!! GORGEOUS. Its going to look great on you!

  13. YES to all the Olympics, the U.S. has been killin' it this year - so exciting! And YUM to cold brew! Totally cashing in my birthday reward at Starbucks today on that <3

  14. You are adorable! I cannot imagine the stress of being homeless for even 12 hours..lol. And seriously...one app and keep that puppy in chronological order!! I'm so irritated that instagram has now started deciding what I want to see just like facebook...ugh. Have a super Wednesday!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Girl how do you forget to eat lunch?!? Hahaha I never miss a meal! And totally agree about the Olympics... staying up wayyyy past my early bedtime!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Girl--I totally feel ya on the moving! It could not be more stressful. We STILL aren't totally unpacked! Plus furniture purchasing adds up SO quickly! It'll all be worth it though!!

  17. What's the deal with not being able to move in until the next day?! That doesn't sound like the best logistically. Do you just pack everything into a moving truck and let it sit overnight? I've never heard of this! Also, I'm with you on all the different apps for social media. I never really got into Snapchat, but I find myself viewing Insta stories every time I'm on there, just because its there. - Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1

    ReplyDelete
  18. ha you have a lot going on girlfriend! and let me tell you - moving is the damn worst but i am sure it's way worse in the city. it takes over your life ha. and give me all the cold brew. i love making it at home! and i'm ready for fall. bring it on!

  19. Omg skipping lunch....never in my life hahha!! Well maybe once, like you. I've been glued to gymnastics too! So fun to watch. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. lol @ usher's but more relatable. i am with you on the black thumb, i definitely have one of those. i get super into swimming, like i'm like nope i don't care and then i'm screaming and cheering at the TV lol. and yes to spin! i used to do it all the time and i was like what if i broke the bike or it like fell over, that would hurt so bad lol. i can't be bothered with instagram stories, my brain just doesn't have the room for more social media. plus, i follow way more people on instagram vs snapchat and i don't want to see some of their stories hahaha. i like snapchat as snapchat and instagram as what instagram used to be. womp womp.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Your bridal pop-up will be a hit!! And ugh, I hate moving, but yay for the house!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love that picture of Usher haha! I'm a huge fan of cycling too, and I always feel silly doing the arm exercises too even though I know that they're good for me!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Isn't it funny how we really don't care much about swimming, and then the Olympics roll around and we're all yelling at the TV? Ha! We've been doing the same thing over here. Hang in there with the move - I know just how stressful and irritating that whole process can be, but it's worth it. So excited for you and your bridal event!

  29. Love this! I've been staying up way too much watching the Olympics. You have a busy few weeks ahead of you!

  30. I loved this post, beauty! I think it's great that you've already started packing two weeks in advance, something I wish we would've done! It would've made the whole process that much easier and less time consuming, but being the indecisive person that I am, I was unsure of a lot of things :( That's crazy that they have exact dates you have to move out and in, in Boston! Thankfully you have family to stay with, I can't imagine what the people who don't have family in the area do in between! I'm so excited for you that the pop up is approaching and I'm sure that many will come out! Even though I'm no longer a bride to be, I'd definitely stop by to support if I were in town! Thanks so much for sharing or confessing, haha. I hope you have an amazing week and may it be as stress free as possible!

  33. I love posts like this! Good luck with the move, moving is the worst, but especially during the summer and over two days. I love that leather jacket! That weather will be upon us soon enough. Well upon you, we don't get much of a fall down here!

    ReplyDelete
  34. That Usher meme, so true! I love love love that jacket you got! So fun and perfect for fall. That color is going to look gorgeous on you. I can't believe the move dates that you guys have? That is ridiculous!!! Thank goodness for family. Just think, soon you won't have to look at all those boxes! Congrats on the coverage and photos! That is awesome!

  35. I cAnt ride a real bike too but I am the best spinner!! Fun confessions!! Happy moving! Stressful but worth it!

  36. We should start going to spin together! Its the best workout and you need to check out Cyc Fitness if you want a really fun and interactive ride- I'm obsessed! You're also so good about watching the Olympics, I haven't watched at all and I keep asking myself if I'm even an American if I don't!? This post is so fun!

  37. Congrats on getting published! That's so exciting! I can't imagine how stressful it is to have to move like that. We always plan it so we at least have a week overlap and have some extra time! That is craziness. Hope you have a good week, girl!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Holy moly, girl, you have a ton coming up! I LOVED this post and you should totally do these more often. There's a confessions link up on Thursdays at Sparkles & Lattes if you ever want to join.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can sympathize with your grocery situation. lol If you were to look in our fridge, it's literally empty besides some take out. Since we are moving any day now, I do not want to go full on grocery shopping and I too stop on the way home and pick up things from the store to make.

I'm soooo ready for fall clothes! To me, it's so exciting switching out my closet and finding pieces I totally forgot about from last season. (:

    ReplyDelete
  40. Moving is the worstttt! I can't believe you guys have to be homeless for a day before you get into your new place, that rule is so strange! Thank goodness for your fam! And yes to all the Olympics - I found myself shouting at the TV earlier over equestrian jumping, haha!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Girl, you have been crazy busy! I don't know how you manage it all, but you do it so well!
I have watched more of the Olympics this year than ever before too...swimming and gymnastics have been on non-stop! Haha! I'm actually missing the swimming.

  43. Moving is already stressful enough without having to move out one day and move in on a completely different day, but I"m glad that you have everything sorted! And yes to all things Olympics! I feel like I'm a lot more cranky lately because I've stayed up so late watching the gymnastics events. I can't figure out Instagram stories either, so I think that I'm just going to say no to it period.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love spin class. It is my favorite way to workout. I hate moving and the clutter it causes. I can't believe you didn't finish lunch. That never happens with me. Ha. I haven't used IG stories either and I am not sure I like them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You are one busy girl! Moving is the absolute worse, although once you're in your new place it feels so good!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Love your confessions list! I too am no green thumb, thats crazy about how things work with leases there in Boston and think thats so awesome that you got published!! Congrats! Sounds like you have a lot of amazing things going on in your life right now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. My husband has been traveling a lot for work lately and I confess I don't have food in my fridge either... and I kind of like it! Ha I agree it helps with snacking and I just stop by the store and pick something up each day to make for myself!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I feel like that's how Minnesota was too with moving. All leases ended on the last day of the month & new leases did not start until the first day of the next month.

  50. Love that Usher meme. The Olympics have me so exhausted, but I can't turn away! Can't wait to hear more about your pop up event! Good luck with your move! I know they can kinda suck!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I seriously hate moving, well mainly packing, and unpacking. Ok, all of it. I think next time around I really might hire someone to take care of it. I've really been enjoying the Olympics and we got sucked into the volleyball match last night even after gymnastics. congratulations on getting published!!! Wishing you much success this weekend! xo Beautifully Candid

  54. I read this earlier and cant remember if I commented or not so I may leave you two, lol. That is totally insane about moving on two days! What if you did not have friends or family to help you? I cant wait to see your new place and how you decorate it! It's going to be amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm really big into the Olympics this year too! Hope the moving goes well-I know how much of a pain it it is! I seriously can't wait for fall. This week it has been magically in the 70s in Texas (that never happens in August), so I'm really enjoying that!

    ReplyDelete
  56. The olympics - so late! I never noticed that before either or maybe I'm just more into them now! I'm so excited to see the new place but that's crazy about the two day move. It will be such a fun/busy fall for you!!

  57. I LOVE a confessions post...it's fun to hear what's on people's minds. I confess that I feel so behind in blog land. I've been SO busy at work that when I come home the last thing I want to do is look at a computer. I can't seem to catch up...and I haven't read some people's blogs in weeks. It makes me super sad.

On another note, your pop up event looks SO fun. I wish I could come, haha. I'm sure it will be a huge success. I've done spin a few times and totally loved it...I LOL'd when you said about the bike flying off...that's hilarious and I totally thought it before when you get really in to it and the next minute I'm thinking I'm spinning so fast I could fly in the sky.

Third...we are planning a trip to Boston! Around September 22nd. Chuck and I need to make final plans, but if you're around that weekend and it works out somehow I would love to meet up with you!

Hope your week is going great :)

  60. Love this post and found myself saying "me too!" to so many of these confessions. I have to comment on the snapchat/Instastory thing though because it's DRIVING ME NUTS. I can't figure out what I'm supposed to post where! I absolutely love snapchat, but I have 10x more followers on Instagram... so do I just ditch snapchat and stick to instagram?! I honestly don't even want to dive into Instastory but I feel like I need to since that's where I have more followers. Ah this blogging thing feels a bit like a "game" sometimes, right?! Sheesh! Haha... I'd love to know how you're going to decide to handle the two forms of social media!

  67. This was so much fun!!!!! I have been addicted to the Olympics too, (pssst...it's only late into the night because of where it is! lol. Sometimes it is live, all depends on where the Olympics is being held and the time difference)........my confession? Back in the day when I was cute, I was a lifeguard, I was on a swim team and I taught swimming to little ones ages 1-5. Loved it!!!!
That is soooo strange that Boston makes you move on the last day of the month and you can't move in to your new place til the 1st? What's up with that???? xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody

  68. as a spin instructor, nothing scares me more than seeing people spinning their legs around faster than the speed of light! it's unsafe and ineffective - you always want to keep some resistance on the flywheel (plus it's a more effective workout)! the push ups on the bike are mostly ineffective - a quick set of pushups, tricep dips, and rows before or after class would do the trick!

good luck with the move! hope you settle in quickly!
