Monday Musings

Happy Monday friends! Today seems fitting for a bit of a brain dump - a few weekend moments and some Monday musings.

// I picked up the Formula X System to Go from Clix (the color set is "Thrilling" - a cloud grey). I'd scoped it out in the check out line a few times before and decided to finally pick it up! I can't tell you how many times I've had a manicure chip on vacation and having a mini set like this (TSA approved) with you would solve the problem! I can tell you from one use - I love the top coat - it dries fast and gives a pretty shiny finish!
// This video of a 10 year old boy's views on materialism is incredibly eye opening! To say he "gets it" would be an understatement.
// I was on a reading spree a couple months ago, but sadly it's slowed down a lot recently. Thankfully an upcoming flight this week is going to leave me with some downtime and I can't wait to read Truly, Madly, Guilty - the reviews have been really good and the synopsis has hooked me. Have you read it?
// I had the best luck at TJ Maxx, this weekend and made some great purchases including this Max Studio dress for pennies!! My favorite is when they have the "original tag" but then they have the store tag of the item and it's not even close to what the "compare price" originally costs - you know what I mean?!
// Gary has been asking me to go to Tavern in the Square's all you can eat brunch and we finally had a chance to check it out on Sunday. I don't know about you, but "all you can eat" is sort of lost on me because I get stuffed after one turn up! What I will always have room for - cake pops!
//Saturday night I cozied up with a nice glass of wine & watched Mother's Day the movie. Obviously it was predictable, but who doesn't love a little feel good romantic comedy?!

  6. I've never tried any of the Sephora polishes but when I'm on vacation I usually paint my nails and take hat one polish color with me for touch ups. Especially if we go to Puerto Rico, beach beach beach. I saw that video of the little boy! Perfection! Looking forward to sharing your bridal event on my Facebook? Happy Monday!! Xo

  24. I loved Mother's Day too. Those are my favorite types of movies - the ones where you can sit back and relax and just feel good throughout the movie (and maybe a few tears lol). That TJ Maxx dress looks like it was made for you! Have a great Monday

  29. I LOVE that dress! I looks terry cloth? Or similar fabric? You know, that perfect summer fabric that feels like you've just stepped off the beach on vacation? I'm a fan of feeling a good summer fabric that reminds me of the beach. (;

    i have the worst luck at Winners. I rarely find my size and when I do, the prices aren't that cheap :(.

  34. ! I've been listening to Truly, Madly, Guilty the last week or so and while I think it is good, it hasn't grabbed me the way her other books have. Mainly because I just want to know wtf happened at the BBQ already?!?!?!? Hahaha. I was hoping to have in completed for the book link up tomorrow but I have 9 hours left. It is a long book! I love your dress you found at TJ Maxx!!! So pretty! Nothing is better than scoring big there!

  35. That video of the boy is truly humbling! I can't get over how articulate and wise he is at such a young age, I'm hoping he can really resonate with other kids his age that come across the video. Perhaps even more so adults! He was speaking truth and in today's society, everyone can benefit from watching it, thanks for sharing! That book sounds so interesting and relatable, too. I'm currently reading Joyce Meyer's The Love Revolution, which I'm loving, though I'm crying at the turn of every page! When I'm finished with that, perhaps I'll read the one you've shared! That dress looks SO good on you, girl! I love Max Studio's piece, they tend to really get it right in terms of fit in whatever it is and I know exactly the feeling of looking at the original price vs. the Maxx price! In fact, years ago, I scored a pair of jeans that were priced at nearly $400 and got it for such a deal that I kept that tag for years, haha. I felt THAT amazing! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I wish I could come out and support your pop up shop; I hope it's such a success! Have a wonderful week ahead!

    I was excited for Truly Madly Guilty but my friend read it and said it wasn't great, and I saw a lot of reviews that say its not good either. So, I'll probably read it, but from borrowing it. I don't want to pay $12 and be disappointed :( Hoping it's better than I'm expecting!
