A Bachelorette Weekend in NYC

Monday is back way too soon, but coming back from a jam packed fun bachelorette weekend makes it a bit easier!! This weekend 12 of us celebrated our friend in her last fling before the ring...we all had a blast so I'd say it was a success! We made our way down on Friday morning and were in the city right around lunch. I've stayed in a few hotels in different parts of Manhattan and I think the Marriott on Lexington (in Mid Town)is probably one of the best locations thus far - it felt very central and walkable to everywhere we were going, although that was really good planning on the part of Meg's sister who planned the whole weekend!

The makings of a great bachelorette in New York City

We were greeted with the cutest gift bag which included a set of hair ties that we all pretty much wore as bracelets since they matched everything!
I've been to Tao once before in Vegas and was pretty excited to go to the Uptown one in New York. I find that bigger restaurants like this are really great at working with large groups of people and even though it was only 6 of us that went out to dinner, they did a fantastic job of accommodating us!
At some point 80's night flew out the window and 90's night became a thing...talk about making someone feel old!! Every Friday The Fresh Kids of the 90s have a live show at (le) Poisson Rouge & we decided it would be the best way to kick off the weekend! Having not been to anything like this since college, I have to be honest - I was a little nervous to see what this was about...I mean bopping around like a college kid isn't at the top of the list of things I like to do, but it was a total blast! The band was amazing and I couldn't believe how many people they were able to include in their show - from trumpets to a violinist to the two lead singers who had more outfit changes than a Beyonce show - it was amazing.  We left around 2 AM...the start of my #oldladystatus being revoked!

We had a late start on Saturday and decided to treat ourselves to one of NY's best bagels - Ess-a-Bagel! Absolutely worth the 20 minute wait in line and so good that we had another one on Sunday morning too...when in New York!
I was so excited for our Dry Bar appointments because who doesn't like to get pampered with their girlfriends?! This was actually my first Dry Bar experience and I sort of want to make it a monthly habit...so nice to sit back, watch a chick flick and get your hair done!
After brunch we had a few hours of downtime before we needed to head out so Jackie, Viv and I took that opportunity to do a little sightseeing.
We strolled through Grand Central, walked down 5th Avenue & enjoyed a little window shopping!
Of course no bachelorette party is complete without a few party games including a jeopardy "do you know your hubby to be" and a fun guessing game of who bought that?!

We started our night with the ladies of LIPS drag show and it was such a riot! I hope you saw some of my snaps (@blovedboston) because there were some hilariously entertaining moments and the two hours with dinner flew by!

While we were at the show we heard about the explosion in Chelsea which is actually where we were headed after...we decided to play it safe and stick close to our hotel and went to Lavo, which lucky for us is across the street from Tao where we were on Friday night.
This is the only picture I took while we were out because it was absolute insanity!! We lucked out with bottle service and a great spot in the front of the club! And can I just say my #oldladystatus has officially been revoked because your girl was out until 3:30 AM...that my friends is a late one for me - in college and NOW!! But that means that I'll be ordering a venti cold brew to get my week started!!
