Long Weekend Fun

Happy Tuesday friends!! What a week it has been!! So duh (because I’ve talked about it ad nauseum at this point), we moved and it was the most seamless and painless move we could have ever asked for! I was worried that one thing would go wrong and throw a wrench into everything, but thankfully the universe was on our side & we were successful!

We moved into our last place as girlfriend and boyfriend so moving out 5 years later as husband and wife was really special and to be honest – a little emotional!! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen movers work as quickly as the company we hired – they had everything out in under 40 minutes and then held our stuff overnight on the truck and delivered on time & again had everything in the right room within the hour the next day!! Best decision ever to hire Tom & his team!

First item in the new fridge – my favorite prosecco!

Hello | Goodbye Doormat (under $12)

We pretty much went non-stop from Thursday to Friday working hard to get our living room, kitchen & bedroom (the office was last on our list) presentable because I invited our friends over on Saturday! I knew having a deadline to get stuff done would push us to get through a ton of boxes fast!

I went a little flower crazy at Trader Joe’s – I mean how can you not when the flowers are so pretty and so cheap!! I also picked out some hydrangeas and used this tutorial to keep them alive longer and so far – it’s been working!!

It was actually supposed to be stormy on Sunday, but thankfully we were given a last little taste of Summer! Lobsters, family & the best dessert ever made for a perfect afternoon!

I wish I had the exact recipe for this strawberry shortcake I had over the weekend, but I do know that it was made with Bisquick, homemade whipped cream & with the strawberries a little bit of sugar was added…also my SIL added milk to the bisquick to make the biscuits even tastier!

Oh how I love long weekends, especially when it means one extra day for a lazy morning and delicious brunch! We were actually seated next to a couple visiting Boston from Nashville so naturally we made them tell us exactly what we had to do when we go in a couple of months!

Girlfriend Jeans|| Rebecca Minkoff‘Regan’ Satchel |

Comfiest Black V-Neck Tee || Similar utility jacket ||

After brunch we headed to The Street @ Chestnut Hill to do the domesticated thing and shop at the Container Store! Seriously – it felt like every single family was also shopping…something about that store brings people out in droves!

I’ll be posting pictures of the new place as everything starts to come together, but I wanted to share this incredible find from Home Goods – this Sunpan fabric bench was exactly what I was looking for! I also feel like it goes so well with our nightstands

I’m feeling ready for the week ahead – especially since it’s a short one! How was your long weekend? Link up below to share it with us!

    I'm so glad your move went so well! That always makes for a great start in a new place! Strawberry shortcake is a favorite down here in the South–yours looks so appetizing! And I bought a tufted fabric bench from HG for our living room about a year ago! Don't they have the best stuff?

    Looks like a wonderful weekend! That Lobster looks amazing! It is always bittersweet moving out of a place into a new one, especially all the memories you leave behind. I cried so hard when we moved out of our first apartment together we had when we first got married. I still get emotional thinking about it lol. Have a great week!

    I'm so glad the move when smooth for you guys! We're considering using a moving company the next time because it was SO overwhelming just doing it ourselves, with the help of my dad and step-mom. Though we had their help, it was still too much and the heavy wooden furniture was a nightmare to get up and down stairs, never again, haha! I watched a bit of the video you linked on making hydrangeas last longer, I'll definitely be referencing it in the future. We've decided we want to keep fresh flowers in the house as much as possible. I need to find a Trader Joe's around here because I've been hearing that they're so incredibly cheap and you've confirmed it! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!
