Weekending | The Thanksgiving Tag

Happy Thanksgiving week friends!! I battled a cold the entire weekend, so in between a little shopping, visiting with Gary’s family & spending time with my parents I was trying to recover so that I wouldn’t be sick for my favorite holiday!! I decided to partake in the Thanksgiving tag that Jenn had on her blog last week!

Boston Parks

Favorite part of the Thanksgiving Day meal

Everyone standing around the kitchen island at my sister’s house eating the apps. There is so much chatter, everyone catching up & the kids flying every which way playing! It’s perfect!

Favorite side(s)

I actually prefer all the sides to the turkey – give me the mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and stuffing please!

Have you hosted before?

We’ve never hosted and I’m actually totally okay with that for right now! Our condo isn’t really conducive to having a ton of people over at one table, so we’ll gladly go over to my sister’s and bring apps / sides & anything else they need!

Table Setting for Thanksgiving

Favorite decor for Thanksgiving:

My sister does such an amazing job setting the table and my BIL always has a special cocktail for the holiday ready to go!

Table Setting for Thanksgiving

Tree up before or after Thanksgiving (if you celebrate):

After always, BUT it’s literally the next day because I can’t wait!

Smooth or Chunky Cranberry Sauce:

I’m not really a cranberry sauce fan, but ever since making them fresh, that’s the only way I will eat them.

Thanksgiving day pies

Pumpkin Pie or another ||

My sister makes the most incredible pies every single year! If I had to pick a favorite it’s her apple pie – I recreated her recipe on the blog

Biggest thing you’re thankful for this year

I’m always thankful to be surrounded by my family on this holiday. I’m thankful we’re all healthy and happy – at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters to me.

What’s your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?

So sorry to hear you were sick over the weekend! I hope you feel better before Thursday! What a fun post — we don't have the space to host a holiday dinner either, but it looks like your sister and brother in law do such an amazing job! My husband does the cocktail too, it's so fun!

What a fun list. I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year and it's been a while, so I really need to get my booty in gear this week. I want to put up our tree, but I have to wait until after Turkey Day, ugh.

Your Thanksgiving sounds awesome! I love standing around the kitchen eating apps while the kids are running wild. And yes to the tree the next day! I will never be one to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving because it's also one of my favorite holidays and I just can't skip it, but that weekend right after, it's on.

I love, love, love Thanksgiving! I love it for family, FOOD!!!! Your sister does an amazing job with her table/decor, just gorgeous! I have hosted before but much prefer, like you, bringing anything they need and having it somewhere else. Our place is too small for more than like 14 people (and THAT is tight!) I don't love cranberry sauce but I make a great homemade one that has wine in it (I add extra wine lol), mandarin oranges, cinnamon sticks…..for cranberry sauce it's good and people love it!! I also agree with you about the sides, they are my FAVORITE part, especially the stuffing!! Please get rid of that cold soon! xoxoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
