Weekending Travel | Newburyport

Happy Tuesday friends! Something about starting the week off on a Tuesday has me recharged and refreshed for the short week ahead! Rather than share all of the weekends happenings I thought I'd focus on our day trip to Newburyport and what to do should you happen upon this coastal New England town! Earlier in May I made a list of Summer trips to take around New England and somehow didn't put Newburyport on the list - even though it's on the same commuter line as Rockport - so we'll still call it a step in the right direction!

Still Weekending...

Happy Monday friends! I'm still in Weekending mode, but the linkup is live if you'd like to get a jump start!

Memorial Day looks to take you through the summer

To me Memorial Day Weekend feels like the unofficial start to summer - which means BBQ's, trips to the beach and just an excuse to be outside as much as possible. It's also a great excuse to bust out that red, white and blue because from now until labor day we are celebrating all things USA!
Sometimes I wear the colors together and feel like the American Flag or makes me think of the scene from Legally Blonde 2  - so in an effort to not wear all the colors together but tying them in appropriately - here are some of my favorite picks for Memorial Day that will take you through the entire summer!
With Old Navy having their 50% off Memorial Day Sale - it's hard to pass up some of these items, especially this linen cami that comes out to be $12 and make it a set with these shorts for $10!
A few years ago I had a dress super similar to this off the shoulder top, but unfortunately got a stain on it and haven't been able to find anything similar to it since, but this is the closest I've found! I just love the detailing!
I love chambray and I love rompers - only fitting we make into one
I have these jeans from Ann Taylor and after trying on close to a dozen pairs of white jeans, these are the only ones that I've found that actually don't accentuate the flaws if you know what I mean!
Nothing more Memorial Day through Labor Day appropriate than this white pom pom cover up
My favorite purchase from two years ago was my denim jacket - It comes in handy in the mornings when it's still a bit chilly out and at night when the sun has gone down!
Pleated lace-trimmed shorts - is there anything better? I also love that they aren't fitted in the thighs so you could feel comfortable wearing them during the day and night!

Weekending Snaps

Happy Monday friends!! I'm not going to lie, there was talk about this weekend being a washout and I think my confusion of it being sunny and pretty on Friday totally put good vibes out in the universe because it was really pretty amazing all weekend long - a sprinkle on Sunday didn't last long at all!
Here's a little peek into the weekend...

Friday Favorites Round Up

Happy Friday everyone! It was another quick week around here and I'm not complaining one bit! With no real plans set for this weekend and sun in the forecast, I'm pretty happy! Let's get right to some favorites from the week with Amanda

Spring and Summer Midi Dress

So it's a pretty bold statement to say this is my favorite dress to wear for just about any special event be it work related or personal, but it really is! I found this dress just before my first photo shoot for our website - I was looking for something that was crisp and timeless as well as figure flattering. This was the first time I was trying a midi-type dress, but I was into the style so I thought why not! After a little tailoring around the shoulders, the dress that I know I'll be wearing for years to come was ready!

Smoothie Goodness

Smoothie with Strawberries and banana
Smoothies have been my favorite way to start my work days for the last month. We've revived our very old blender, which until I convince Gary that we need to get the NutriBullet will have to work, or maybe not, so we will be forced to get it (see what I did there...)! I've been drinking the same smoothie adding in a few ingredients here and there, but the one I'm sharing today is my absolute favorite! I haven't started adding protein powders, chia seeds or anything fancy, but it's only a matter of time!

Trending Now | Eyelet

A couple years ago there was a linkup called Trending Tuesday - it slowly went away, but I really liked having a weekly place to talk about my favorite trends of the moment - while I'm not going to be starting another linkup, I did want to make it a more regular thing on the blog so here's the first installment for Trending Now - Eyelets!  I love the femininity of an eyelet dress, skirt or top - especially if it comes in a pretty pastel color! I had a pair of J.Crew eyelet navy shorts that I finally had to get rid of after a few years because they were worn out, but I loved them so much and realized I have a thing for this style!

Favorite Summer Trips Around New England

One of the things I love most about living in New England is how close we are to so many cute little towns. In almost any direction from Boston you can enjoy a really great summer getaway or even day trip. Gary and I actually don't have any summer trips planned yet with the majority of our travel planned for late summer/early Fall - so I thought it was time to explore some of our past destinations as well as new ones I've added to the list.
If you ever have plans to visit New England here are some of my favorites! Side note, most of these photos are BTB - Before the Blog!

Weekending | A New B~Loved Boston

Happy Monday friends!! I'm so excited to be starting out a new week with a fresh look to the blog! There are still some tweaks to hammer out, but for the most part this is the new site and I'm excited to show you some of the new pages I've added and get any feedback on what else you'd like to see going forward!

Friday Round Up

Happy Friday indeed friends! This has been quite the week - I'm not sure if it's the gloomy weather, but I've sort of been in a funk all week and I'm ready for the weekend! I've got so many events lined up for both work and my personal life that it's all sort of starting to mesh together - but as they say, it's a nice problem to have! Here are some of my favorites from the week!

Spring and Summer Reading Guide

Happy Cinco de Mayo friends!! I hope that you're going to be enjoying some tacos, queso and cocktails tonight!! Before 5:00 PM strikes I thought I'd talk about some books on my radar! Last June I shared my Summer reading list and since then I've read a book here and there, but honestly nothing like I was reading last year - so I'm here to get myself excited for some new books and hopefully you'll share some of current reads with me as well!

Thirty Days to Thirty

As someone turning thirty next year, I'm really excited to read this book about someone that "has it all," but quickly loses it.

What if you were on the cusp of marrying the guy of your dreams and reaching that career goal you set for yourself, only for all of it to be taken away in one fell swoop?

What if this all happened a month before you turned 30?

This is the story of Jill Stevens, who after moving back home, finds a list she made in high school of thirty things she wanted to accomplish before her thirtieth birthday.

With a month left and hardly anything crossed off her list, she teams up with old friends to accomplish as much as she can before the big 3-0. Along the way, she discovers her true self and realizes it’s not about the material successes in life but the journey.

Wishlist Wednesday

It's been a little bit since a shared a good old fashioned wishlist! I've got the most random things on my radar and I thought I'd explain each one in a little detail!
Here's a closer look at the hodge podge that is my summer wishlist!

Weekending into May

Happy first Monday of May friends!! The start of a new month is the best - especially when it falls on a weekend! There was a little relaxation, a lot of work & a little celebrating so here's what we got up to!
To agree on a movie for Gary and I is pretty momentous! After settling Brooklyn - and if you haven't seen it, I now know why Saoirse Ronan was nominated at every awards show earlier this year, it was amazing - we broke out a new red wine from Louis Jadot and indulged in a red velvet cupcake from Sweet Bakery! The perfect Friday night if you ask me!
