Friday Favorites

First Friday of February (how's that for an alliteration) is upon us! How was everyone's week? It seemed like I had something going on most nights after work, but I'm looking forward to a relaxing Friday night followed by a few things planned this weekend. Linking up with Amanda to share a few of my favorite things from the week!

Godfrey Hotel || One Year Anniversary

Gary & I attended the Godrey Hotel's one year anniversary party on Wednesday night. We had a fun night mingling with some of my favorite Boston Bloggers, including one of my good friends Tess! While I don't normally bust out my metallic heels during the work week, this was a fun excuse - also getting a lot of wear, these burgundy velvet pants! We took some photos with TapSnap which is this fun photo booth type thing that has you step in front of a green screen & then once the photo is done you basically get to choose your background! You can have fun with it by adding a celebrities head over your's or pretend like a dinosaur is getting ready to eat you --> random, but kind of hilarious!

Superbowl Apps

With the Patriots playing in the Superbowl this Sunday - I'll definitely be watching! Our neighbors are throwing a party & asked us to bring any app we'd like.  The bacon wrapped kielbasa was a huge hit at my NYE party so I might make that or make something new like these baked buffalo cauliflower bites and buffalo chicken bites <-- I think I'm craving something spicy!

Valentine's Day Treat

Yesterday I got the sweetest delivery from Shari's Berries complete with flowers & everything! Safe to say Gary is off the hook for Valentine's Day or will have to come up with something that doesn't involve dessert! Chocolate covered strawberries are my absolute favorite dessert  - I'm calling it a success that I (and Gary) did not eat everything in one night & brought some in for co-workers to enjoy as well!

Photography Tips

I love reading other blogger's photography tips, especially for flat lay photos. They are the ones that I'm most drawn to on Instagram, but I have the hardest time taking them myself!! This was a great post on how to be spatially aware, working around shadows & when to add / when to take away from a photo.

  13. I was just looking at buffalo cauliflower yesterday and was thinking about making it this weekend. My husband hates cauliflower though so I would have to eat it all myself haha! I made similar buffalo chicken bites in Tuesday's post and they are SO good. I literally ate all of them haha! Have a great weekend, Biana!

  25. Haha, my hubs is not a Patriots fan at all, particularly Brady. So, he's rooting for the Falcons. The party sounds like so much fun and everything you're thinking of making sounds delish, so whatever you decide I know will be a hit. I just checked out the post you shared on flatlays and she shared some really great and helpful tips, thanks for passing the post along! I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead, beauty!

  33. You are so lucky to have blogger events so close to you! I hate that there's nothing like that here. There are a few here in there in Atlanta that I would love to attend eventually, but it's so hard getting away with the littles!

  38. I'm making those buffalo chicken bites too! I'm a little confused, does the puff pastry just automatically curl up into that shape? I might just use wonton wrappers, in a cupcake tin...

  39. Those berries look awesome!! The event at the hotel sounds like a lot of fun, and it's cool that you got to mingle with other bloggers. I haven't decided what snacks im making for the super bowl yet, some kind of dip for sure! Hope you have a great weekend!

  40. I say that there's always a good reason to break out some fun shoes, but even more so if it's for a special occasion! I'm craving something wings related for Super Bowl too, and those cauliflower bites would be a perfect way to stay semi healthy too!

  41. Ooh, I love the sound of the buffalo chicken bites! We are going to a Super Bowl party, and I have no idea what to make!

  42. Flat lays are so hard! I just ordered a long marble drape thing that I can roll up and it gives way more surface area than my usual foam boards. I'm hoping that helps step up my game. That photo booth is so fun!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Loving your burgundy pants! The event looks fun. I need to check that article out. I am terrible at flat lay pictures!

  50. So... I never used to be a chocolate covered strawberries person... and I tried them on our anniversary trip last year... and I now I feel sad for all the times I never took advantage of them. These look PERFECT and delicious too! I can't believe how big they are!
