Looking back on all my previous posts, I've never shared a ‘what's in my gym bag’ with you all! These types of posts (purses & gym bags) are some of my favorites to read from other bloggers because, well, I'm nosy and want to know if there should be anything my gym bag that might be missing!
If the week allows for it, I'll usually go to the gym on my lunch break, and then to 7-Eleven to pick up some hydration like LIFEWTR. I know that it's not always an option for many folks, but my gym happens to be in my building so that eliminates a lot of time for getting to and from the gym. I take about 45 minutes total for the workout & that leaves me with 15 minutes (give or take) to get back to my desk and eat lunch!
Here's a peek into my gym bag:
To Quench my Thirst and Refresh
LIFEWTR: If you know me, then you know I love color. If the bottle that my water comes in is colorful and fun, then it makes me more excited to drink it. Please tell me I'm not alone here. When LIFEWTR came out with their artist-created bottle designs, I stopped into 7-Eleven to scoop some up. We probably have a 7-Eleven on every other corner here in the city, so if there is ever a day when I need an extra boost of hydration before or after a workout, I can grab something quickly.
Makes Me Presentable
Dry Shampoo & Deodorant: 45 minutes doesn't give you a ton of time to refresh, so I rely heavily on my dry shampoo since I don't wash my hair until I get home. I also switched to the aluminum-free deodorant which I feel really good about using. I actually have two detangling brushes - one I keep in my purse and one that I keep in my gym bag - these are my absolute favorites!
I always carry a bit of makeup with me to touch-up from the class - nothing too fussy, just my cc cream, pressed powder & blush. There's always a chance I have an event after work, so I like having my makeup with me in case I need to touch up for that and the earthy palette I used is perfect for that!
Don't forget clothes
I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to pack a sports bra for a workout, so now I always keep an extra one with me in my bag. I also recently picked up these pretty pink sneakers that are light enough for workouts but are my favorite to wear when I'm running errands during the weekend. Of course keeping it all together is key, and I've been using my bag for the last few years. It's taken a beating so it might be time for an upgrade to the one pictured.
My favorite is seeing the fun LIFEWTR bottle during my spin class, and the odds of me drinking the entire thing during my workout are pretty good. Drinking one during the entire work day is another story. Sometimes I find myself needing an extra spark of creativity - especially if I'm trying to create a new marketing piece, so it's nice to look at the bottle and see an artist's inspiration!
