Style Crush | Midi Skirts

I have no shortage of skirts in my closet, but one type seriously lacking are midi skirts. I love the feminine feel & whimsical nature they evoke! I think they look great dressed up with heels or dressed down with a simple t-shirt. Here are a few that I have my eyes on and hopefully will be styling soon!
Utility Midi Skirt || Pleated Midi Skirt  || Midi Wrap Skirt ||
Pleated Orange Maxi Skirt || Kelly Green Skirt || Striped Linen Midi Skirt ||
Big Bow Midi || High Waist Midi || White and Black Polka Dot

I don't know which one to start with, but the pink pencil midi is pretty close to what I normally wear without having to step out of my comfort zone too much, but I love the pleated kelly green skirt for a dressier day at the office!

What are your picks for the midi skirt trend?

Weekend Fun & Amazon Prime Day Picks

Happy Monday friends! The sun was shining all weekend and we took full advantage of it.

Our sushi Friday's are back, sort of!  We were able to take Sophia to our favorite spot on Friday for an early dinner. No rolls for her yet, but soon!

Saturday we made our way to the Cape for a friends party. Traffic wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be which made for a much more pleasant car ride with the little one!
I snuck out on Sunday morning for a solo Target and latte run. I knocked off so much of my to do list between 7-10 a.m., guess it helps that someone decided we're all going to be early morning risers!
Still wearing my white skirt on repeat with this camo shirt (currently $6)!

It's also Prime Day today and tomorrow! My two favorite Amazon deals are Kindle Unlimited (first month free) & Amazon Music - both trials that we use daily! I always pick up an echo dot during the sale because these make the best gifts!

Some other things that may or not be on be a prime deal are these Slingback Leather Sandals and round rattan bag. I'm also on the hunt for a new rug for our living room and a fun gift for Sophia's first birthday, but really want to get her this unicorn rocking horse

Are you guys shopping for Prime Day? Hope you have a great week friends!

Wednesday Wants

I've recently found myself taking screen shots of items that I want to try / purchase. Thought it would be a good idea to put it on the blog in case some of you have purchased these items for yourself!

Glowgasm Beauty Wand Highlighter || Really interested in trying this since it's a nice summer highlight with a perfect blush tone to the areas that you apply it. I'm a fan of the wand applicator as well.

Lip & Cheek Stick || I love a product that works double duty, so I've been really interested in trying this Milk Makeup Lip & Cheek stick. Think it would be a great edition to have in my work tote & also workout bag for a quick refresh.

Rotating Makeup Organizer || I have been purging makeup and skincare items and finally have it down to the essentials. I'm looking to free some of my dresser space and also I think organization that utilizes space going up just works better for smaller areas. I have 3 different acrylic organizers and this one would combine all of them into one.

Kristen Ess Pivoting Wand || Since cutting my hair, I've actually been styling it differently more often which has led me to want to upgrade my curling wand that I've had for almost 6 years. I love the pivoting feature of this one and have tried it (while it was off) in store and think it would work really well for those of us (ahem, me) who can't properly use a curling iron!

UGG Slippers || I'm not really sure what I'll be purchasing from the Nordstrom Sale, but I don't shop early access, so if these slippers are still available when it opens to the public, I'm definitely scooping them up! I wear slippers year round and my current UGG ones need to be replaced!

Zella Leggings || One must have purchase for me every year from the Nordstrom Sale are these leggings! I have three pairs now and lived in them during my maternity leave! I wear them to workout and run errands - I never worry about them being see through either! This pair has pockets and I'm here for that!

Mother Daughter Book || I saw this book pop up on my instagram feed and think it's adorable! I read at least 3 books a night to Sophia and I'd love to add this one to the rotation!

Romper || Those weekend days when I really cant be bothered to think about putting an outfit together - an easy romper like this (also comes in 20 other colors) is perfect!

Wristlet || When I'm out with Sophia, I've found that I really don't want to carry my bag as well, so I've been looking for a wristlet that's big enough to fit my phone, lip gloss, keys and wallet. It's been harder than I thought to find one, until I spotted this Tory Burch canvas one.

What's on your summer wish list?

Fun Filled Summer Weekend

Happy Monday, friends! Even though I had to work most of last week, we still managed to pack in a lot of fun for Sophia's first Fourth of July!
We celebrated the Fourth almost exactly the same way we did last year, with one little addition - Sophia! We had lobster rolls at Luke's, strolled through the park and enjoyed a very low-key dinner with friends on their roof deck. I think next year we want to take the entire week off and head to the Vineyard for a summer getaway!

Friday night we went on a much needed date night to see Yesterday! We both loved it and honestly it was just a feel good movie! I'm also a huge Beatles fan so hearing the songs always puts a smile on my face! We both agree that reclining chairs are the only way to go to the movies now!
Our friends had us over on Saturday for a little indoor BBQ because it was so hot outside! Too hot for the babies as we like to say! Sophia and her friend were very busy keeping an eye on the neighbors and babbling to each other. Unfortunately they have no choice except to be besties!

Sunday we had photos taken for Sophia's first birthday with Julie from Young at Heart Images. Sticking with the tradition of taking photos in the Public Garden & Charles Street! These are just a couple iPhone snaps so to say I'm excited to see the professional photos would be an understatement.

My dress comes in 16 different colors and these Michael Kors wedges have been in my closet for years and I still get a ton of wear out of them!

It felt like the longest weekend so no complaints for a much needed afternoon latte & stroll with my little love! Hope you have a great start to the week!

Family Friendly Boston Travel Guide

Summer is on of the best times to visit Boston so with that being in full swing here,  I wanted to share a family friendly travel guide. It's no secret that I adore Boston and everything there is to do in this city. There's something for everyone - especially if you're traveling with your kids. While there is a ton do outside of the city including visiting the Cape, Islands & historic sites, I'm sticking to family friendly activities in the city! It's truly great for anyone visiting Beantown! Here's a rundown of some of my recommendations with a quick take on each one.

Playgrounds ||

Boston Common (Tadpole Playground)
You're in the middle of the city, so there will more than likely be a lot of kids and parents at the playground, but it's fenced in. Nice equipment and the carousel is nearby as well!
Lawn on D
The Lawn on D is one of my favorite spots in the Seaport. While family friendly, you are able to get some drinks and watch your kids play with oversized lawn games! They usually host events on summer weekends, so check the schedule to make sure it's open. The swings are fun for kids and adults!

Esplanade playground
There are actually three different playgrounds along the Esplanade, each one varying in size. Near the Hatshell is my favorite one and you can pack a picnic and make an afternoon of your time there!

Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, Greenway Carousel & Rings Fountain
Probably one of my favorite areas because of how much there is to do there. After you've walked through Faneuil Hall, cross the Rose Kennedy Greenway and make your way to lunch at Joe's by the Water. Then you can have your little ones blow off some energy at the playground. If it's a warm day, there's a great fountain that doubles as a splash pad! Finish off by heading to the carousel!
Martin's Park
The newest park in Boston is next to the Children's Museum and is named in memory of Martin Richard. Lots of seating for parents with water fountains and unique activities.

Around Town ||

  • Children's Museum
  • Museum of Science
  • Aquarium
  • Duck Boats
  • Franklin Park Zoo
  • Swan Boats
  • Freedom Trail
  • Fenway Park Tours
While I wont go into detail on each activity listed above because they're pretty self explanatory, but the duck boat tours are a blast with kids or not. I don't recommend going with a young toddler because sitting still isn't their forte, however they could surprise you! The Swan boats are very touristy, but for 15 minutes on a beautiful day, it's worth the minimal cost. While the zoo isn't in the city, it's a quick uber ride to and from!

Family Friendly Food Stops ||

Eataly ||
My love for Italian food is real. You and your family can dine in one of the piazza restaurants or you can pick up some fresh food for a picnic in the park. Either way, the sites and sounds of the market will be fun for everyone.

Boston Public Market ||
I love markets for the picky bunch. One person is craving lobster rolls and the other really wants a grilled cheese sandwich - Boston Public Market is your place! There's also plenty to see, do, touch & taste test! There's also a beautiful park right across the street that you can eat and your kids can play at.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace ||
Perfect for shopping and a bite to eat. There are tons of restaurants around here to choose from. Be warned, the Cheers here is not the original, that one is on Beacon Street! There's upscale dining as well as food vendors selling really great lobster rolls - another stop that has something for everyone.

Time Out Market ||
The newest food hall in Boston just opened and I am so excited for it. These are some the highest rated Boston restaurants under one roof. If you're a foodie visiting and don't have time to check out all the great places to eat in Boston, this would be the one stop shop! They also have high top tables with really tall high chairs!

Wahlburgers ||
Tater tot dreams are made here! Lots of locations, but I love the one near Fenway. The burgers are delicious, the staff is super friendly and you may even have a celebrity sighting with one of the Wahlburg brothers!

Max Brenner ||
A chocolate bar and restaurant - need I say more?! If you are a french fry connoisseur like I pride myself on being, the ones served here are in my top 5, absolutely delicious! If you find that you're looking for something sweet - I highly recommend Max Brenners everything is out of this world good!
I always refer people to my "Boston" tab where I have a running list of my favorite things to do, but if you're every planning a trip here and have specific questions, I would love to help!
