Luminess Air vs. Everyday Makeup

Happy Monday friends! I’m at a loss at how to even begin to start this week off…with the tragic and senseless shooting that took place this past weekend I am sending all my thoughts and prayers to the families, victims & those affected. My heart is with the people of Orlando. With that being said – I did have this post slated to go today and while my weekend was nothing short of relaxing and filled with family time, I wanted to share my review of the Luminess Airbrushed Makeup System. The weekending linkup is still live below and as I  mentioned on Friday, I’m going to be switching up my Monday and Friday posts to give a bit of variety!

I’ve had my makeup professionally done a few times for weddings and special events and only once has it been airbrushed makeup! When Lumniess Air reached out to ask if I was interested in reviewing their Airbrush Makeup set, I wondered how it would stack up to my everyday makeup! My review is going to be a bit different with one side of the face being exclusively airbrushed with Luminess Air and the other using my everyday makeup!

Luminess Airbrushed Makeup

Can you tell which side is airbrushed?! I used the same primer which came with the set for both sides of the face followed by my foundation and theirs (they offer 4 different colors), only my concealer, their blush, highlight and bronzer & as well the same everyday makeup I use. They also offer eye shadows, but I’m not quite sure in my abilities to master that yet.

Luminess Airbrushed Makeup

I often thought that airbrushed makeup should be left up to the professionals and watching YouTube tutorials I’ll admit I was a bit intimidated, but after practicing once before taking photos for this post, I felt really comfortable with the circular application, cleaning out the machine and using the right amount of drops to create a seriously flawless finish. The system they’ve created allows us at home to get the same airbrushed look that a professional would give us, without the hassle!

Luminess Airbrushed Makeup

I really did love the flawless finish and it helped reduce a few fine lines I have around my eyes. It didn’t feel cakey or like I was wearing  more makeup than normal, but I was more afraid to scratch an itch on my face for fear of scraping the makeup off – something that had happened when I got my makeup airbrushed before.

With my everyday makeup I noticed more of my fine lines, less of the flawless finish.

Luminess Airbrushed Makeup

While I don’t think airbrushed makeup is necessary for everyday use, I did notice that it didn’t take any longer to apply than my everyday makeup & the staying power with this airbrushed makeup was the same as I get while using my Urban Decay setting spray. I am waiting for my next big night out because I will absolutely be using theLuminess Airset again. If you’re interested in trying anything on the Luminess Air site out – use the code “178846322” for 20% off your entire purchase on anything on their site.

Have you tried airbrushed makeup before? Were you a fan of it?

I was sent the Luminess Airbrush makeup to review – all thoughts an opinions are 100% my own.

You look great! At first glance I couldn't tell a difference at all, but when you just show the sides you can tell the airbrush is just a tiny bit more flawless. Great job – I would be so intimidated!

Thank you for sending your love to Orlando- so scary to wake up to this news and wonder if my family and friends were ok. Such a senseless tragedy!

Such a scary tragedy to wake up to over the weekend and too close to home for me. Thank you for your prayers. I love the flawless look of airbrush makeup and thought right away your left side was the airbrush side. So picture perfect!

Looking flawless as usual, but a big fat yes to airbrush makeup. I loved it so much for my wedding and other fancy events, and now love even more the ease of being able to apply it myself at home. You can't beat the flawless finish, and how it lasts all day. Today is definitely another solemn day here in central FL, but I love how our community has come together <3

I love the comparisons that you did between the airbrushed side of your face and your normal everyday makeup! You always look beautiful, but the airbrush definitely makes your face look flawless! I've heard so many great things about Luminess Air, that I think that I should try it out!

Wow, awesome comparison! The airbrushed side is so completely smooth and flawless… I don't know much about makeup application because I don't wear foundation, etc… but I suppose spraying on a layer (via the Luminess Air) is easier to put on than using like a sponge or brush for concealers and powders. Good to know both techniques are the same in time usage. Nice review!! And you are gorgeous either way!!

I've watched a few makeup tutorials on YouTube with beauty gurus using them, but haven't tried them myself because like you, I've felt intimidated! I mean, my skills aren't even all there with using my hands, let a lone a fancy machine, BUT you've given me the feeling that I can perhaps master it, since you said you found it easier than you thought. You can definitely see a difference in the look of the makeup, it looks brighter! This is definitely one of those products you'd use for special occasions, for a more flawless finish! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
