Blueberry Fun + Face Mask DIY

When I put together my summer bucket list, I thought we’d get to cross off a few things, but with only one item left, I’m pretty proud!! I mentioned earlier this week that we went blueberry picking at Boston Hill Farm in Andover – it was pretty late in the season so I didn’t think much would be left to pick, but we ventured into the areas that people didn’t go to and found some truly delicious and fresh blueberries! Keep reading for some of the ways – besides eating, that I’ve used them up!

We all know that blueberries pack quite the punch when it comes to health benefits – help ward off heart disease, boost your brain, rich with antioxidants and help with glowing skin – so as we were picking I was thinking of other ways I could utilize these little treats and decided on a face mask!

What You’ll Need || Blueberry Face Mask

2 handfuls of blueberries

3 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon of honey

Mix everything together and really mash the blueberries. I stuck the mixture in the fridge for about 15 minutes to get a bit colder, not a necessary step, but I liked that the mask felt cool on my face. I couldn’t get over how easy the mask was to make and I loved that it was all natural! You don’t get the tightening feeling that you do with other masks, but after about 10 minutes the mask came off and my skin was truly glowing! BONUS: If you aren’t a fan of face masks – this was also a pretty phenomenal blueberry yogurt! I was a little scared that it might turn my face blue – BUT as you can see it became more of a pinky color so that didn’t happen – but as my friend Jackie suggested you can always test it out on your wrist to see how your skin reacts!

Not a fan of either one of those – not to worry you can also make some pretty delicious blueberry pancakes!!

Have you ever tried making your own mask?

So fun! My great-grandparents lived on a little farm and had blueberry bushes that we would pick each summer and it's still one of my favorite memories! 🙂

Good idea to make a face mask! My mom's friend used to live on a blueberry farm in town and we had easy access to getting blueberries each year!

What a fun idea for a mask, Biana! And I love the "make pancakes" alternative haha! I use to go blueberry picking all the time when I was little but haven't been in years. My mom would make the most delicious blueberry muffins when we got home. Makes me miss it!!

OMG, cracking up because the blueberries + yogurt + honey has literally been my breakfast for the last week. Just, you know, not mushed up and with a little granola thrown in 😉 Darling pics – we went blueberry picking this summer, too!

Greek yogurt is seriously a magical substance!! It's great for a sunburn too (just don't eat it afterwards!!). So glad you found blueberries and are NOT blue after your facial! 🙂

Blueberries are my favorite, and it's getting to be "that season" in Maine! I miss how tasty wild ones are, compared to the farms here in FL. A mask is a great idea- though I'm pretty sure I'd eat 'em all before I was done! 🙂 -Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1

I love the idea of a blueberry face mask, I've never tried one before! I have nearly all the ingredients, except yogurt, since I have somewhat of an intolerance to it, but perhaps I'll just buy it to make a mask with! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!
