Happy Monday, friends! Today is the day – it’s moving day!! I’ll be sharing in real time over on Instagram, but wish us luck and a few good vibes for a meltdown free day, especially from me and Sophia, HA! Even though it was a busier month, I still managed to read a few books and these would be great for the beach / pool.

Slightly South of Simple || This is my second Kirsty Woodson Harvey book and I’m definitely thinking she’s my new favorite author. I love the character development, which is especially the case in this book where a mom of three grown girls suddenly finds herself welcoming them all back into her home for the summer. I found it intersting that the story only focused on the mom, Ansley, and one of her daughter’s, Caroline. Lots of southern charm, a little New York flair & lots of small town gossip. It’s a beach read, through and through.

All We Ever Wanted || It’s been a while since I’ve read an Emily Giffin book! Interesting take on how adult lives intersect with their children, especially when money, status and education are involved. It’s a little bit of family from “wrong side of the tracks” and family with money and status that can make things go away, only not everyone wants things to go back to the way they were. I liked the book, but I really loved the epilogue!

Widows In-Law || I listened to this book on audible and I think I would have enjoyed it more if I did read it. I also thought it would make a really good movie! There was a lot going on, but not a ton of characters which was good. When Lauren’s ex-husband ends up dead, she and his new wife must figure out why the mob, his law partner and the FBI are all interested in his death. There were a few outlandish moments, but overall a good thriller.

I’m currently reading Anna K which is a YA novel and about 25% into the book. Definitely getting some Gossip Girl vibes, but it’s supposed to be a modern take of Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy! Let me know what you’ve been reading!

Widows in Law sounds good and I like reading over listening, so I think that will be better. And I love when a book would make a good movie.

Hope everything is going smoothly with the big move, and Sophia is settling nicely into her new home. Impressed you were able to get so much reading done, as I amazed myself with finishing a book in less than 2 weeks this month. It’s the little things! <3

How do you find time to read with a full time job, a toddler and a blog? Respect.
