Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Can you even believe this Sunday will be the start of August?! I seriously can’t understand where time goes – it’s a vortex and we’re all sucked into it!

I made the most amazing chicken salad this week and I have been thinking about it since Tuesday! I am already figuring out when to make this again!

  • 3 cups of chicken – diced / cubed
  • 1 cup of mayo
  • 1 red onion chopped
  • 2 handfuls of grapes
  • 1 avocado
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Mix everything together in a bowl

We celebrated my sister’s birthday midweek with a family dinner! It was actually one of the first times Sophia has been out past bedtime and let’s just say she was loving every minute of it and was honestly such a good girl! I know I sound like a broken record, but it’s so nice to be closer to my family rather than a longer car ride – makes these midweek dinners possible.

As we are settling more into the house the projects are starting to take shape and we’re thinking of what we would like to make work for our family. Our laundry is on the first floor and in the guest bathroom off the kitchen. The space works just fine, but I would like to give it a little refresh! Adding some wallpaper as a fun surprise when you open the doors and also hiding the cleaning / laundry products in a cabinet. I saw this photo and loved the layout, not so much the colors, but definitely the look we are going for!

Some new purchases I’ve made:

  • This super cute smocked Target dress – got it for Sophia’s birthday party and also some low key maternity photos we’re taking soon.
  • Summer Fridays just released their newly repackaged lip butter which I love and comes in two shades, so I ordered that and also ran out of the belly balm that is finally for sale at Sephora not just on their website!
  • I’ve been on the hunt for a smallish backpack that could also function as a pseudo diaper bag later and bought this adorable mini nylon one from Target. Comes in a few colors too.
  • My friend Rachel has been sharing her heatless curls all week and I finally bought the set that she has been using! With basically 0 effort you get the best curls!

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe weekend ahead!

That chicken salad sounds (and looks) SO good! Sounds like a great week with that mid week celebration. That’s so awesome you guys are able to do that now with being closer – I am sure it makes a world of difference and will lead to lots of great memories. Hope you have the best weekend!

That chicken salad recipe sounds so delicious! I’ve never had chicken salad with avocado, but that would be soooo good. I’ll have to try this!

Beautiful photos!! Love that you are able to make celebrations easier! I’ve definitely been thinking about that since it’s a 45 minute drive between my mom and us – it makes it hard to want to do things mid-week (or even after busy weeks). I cannot believe that it’s August! I brought staff back for an in-person training and retreat, and I’m just exhausted from 3 days. I don’t know we’re really going to kick it in to high gear with students in another week. YIKES.
