Happy Monday, friends! At about 1:00 PM on Friday I was finally fed up with winter after the ice storm came through! I rarely and I mean rarely complain about weather because I feel like I signed up for it living in New England but the weather has been straight crap for the last 5-6 weeks and I am ready for Spring and sunshine! In any case, today is all about the books and I have 4 really good ones you will want to add to your TBR list!

The Last Thing He Told Me || One of the most recommended books in 2021 and I was excited to finally get it on loan from the library. I think it started out pretty slow and took me a few chapters to get into, but once it picked up I flew through it. When Owen, Hannah’s husband goes missing, she is forced to put the pieces together of who he really was, all while making sure his daughter Bailey is taken care of. Owen isn’t who he claims to be, but why would he lie to Hannah? Between the FBI, a corrupt business and more twists than I could keep up with, there is a reason for all of this I never saw coming! I thought it was a great book without being a thriller or true suspense. Just a little of both. Though, I do wish the ending wasn’t so rushed!

Where We Belong || Emily Giffin is one of my favorite authors – her writing has always been like watching a movie for me. Marian has been living her life quite nicely as a TV producer in NYC when she gets a knock on her door one day and it happens to be Kirby, an 18 year old girl that has the ability to upend everything about her perfect little life. Each chapter alternates as these two women try to find themselves but for very different reasons. I really liked the book and enjoyed all the characters, but this is one of those reads that would have done well with having an epilogue. I just wanted a little bit more closure, but overall I was really happy to have listened to the book.

The Hunting Wives || This book had everything you want and then some! Sophie and her family move from Chicago to a rural suburb in Texas where the boredom of the slow pace starts to get to her. She befriends a group of wives in the area and gets invited into their secret group, the Hunting Wives. These ladies are certainly alluring with their activities and Sophie quickly gets sucked into their lavish lives. There is a lot to unpack. Promised to be a thriller and suspenseful and it was just that – there was a twist you didn’t see coming and I promise you wont believe were it ends up!

Have You Seen Me || It has been a really long time since a book has completely shocked me and this one did just that. When Ally shows up one morning at work, soaked and forgetting her key card, her boss is shocked to see her because she hasn’t work there in 5 years! Ally is trying to piece together the two missing days and doesn’t know if her past is coming back to haunt her literally. There were so many points while reading where I was sure I had it figured out, but I could not have been more wrong! Between her husband, best friend, snarky intern, older brother, PI and therapist there were a lot of characters, but they were all needed. If you are looking for a true page turner and thriller, this is it!

I felt the same way about the ending being rushed and the last thing he told me. These other two titles just went on my list. Have a great week!

I need to add The Hunting Wives to my list! I’m about to finish No Exit, and it’s got more horror to it than the usual thrillers I pick up. I’m ready to read something light and happy next!

The Last Thing He Told Me was really good but I agree with you about the ending. I did not like it. I just finished a book that this mental health/life coach who works with Chris’s company wrote so I’ll have to check out these other books! Thanks for sharing and have a great day! XO

I totally agree about the last thing he told me. They did not develop it enough and ended it too quickly. But still a good read. I will have to check out the others!

I enjoyed Last Thing He Told Me. It was one of my favorites from my book club last year. I have The Hunting Wives but I haven’t gotten to it yet.

Love the idea of Have You Seen Me. Especially if it shocked you. I agree on Last Thing He Told Me. Slow start, but it gets better.
