October Moments

It has felt like months since I’ve actually shared what we’ve been up to, where we’ve gone and what we’re doing! I miss those weekend posts back in the day. This is still a journal of sorts and always fun to look back on, especially as the kids get older. Not to mention, October is one of my favorite months of the year here in New England!

We started the month celebrating Mason’s first birthday with friends and family! A perfect afternoon for my favorite guy! Sophia and I also took a quick girl’s trip to Florida to celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday – such a wonderful time with my girl and seeing my family.

I have really been prioritizing moving at least 30 minutes a day during the work week because it’s so easy to just sit down and work through the entire day! While the weather is still nice I’ve been enjoying my nature walks. We got our pumpkins pretty early – they were all moldy before Halloween – oops! But Gary did the carving and Sophia helped, I always stand by and watch!

Sophia thrived in her sports this month! She has absolutely LOVED tennis & gymnastics. We’re sticking with gymnastics through the rest of the season and taking a little break from tennis – mostly because I want at least one weekend day where we don’t have to do something – you know what I mean?!

Tis the season for going to the farms and we were excited to celebrate a friends’ daughter’s 5th birthday at a local farm! Such a great afternoon with pumpkin decorating, food, hayrides & farm animals – the kids and adults all loved it!

We are really loving the burbs this fall! There is so much to explore and we did one weekend at the Steven’s Coolidge House & Gardens and then because we weren’t ready to go home yet – we decided to check out a new playground!

There was a lot of playtime in our yard – something we just would not have been able to do if we were still living in the city!

Obviously, Halloween was very big for us this year in the sense that Sophia was excited about it and going trick or treating. She practiced what to say so much – it was adorable! It was so sweet to see my niece taking her around the neighborhood. I fully expect Mason to be in on the action next year and maybe that’s when I’ll actually get some coordinating outfits for our family! Also, getting a picture with the 4 of us is nearly impossible now!

I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving and starting the holiday season!

So much to celebrate, and love the costumes! Booo to the moldy pumpkins, we’ve had that issue too. So now we wait until the weekend of or a few days before Halloween to carve the pumpkin(s). Then when they begin to turn, we toss them in the woods <3

Well Happy First Birthday to Mason! And Sophia is doing so well that is excellent. Ah yes I love this time of year though I wish it were cooler and more seasonal as usual it is unseasonably warm. Steven’s Coolidge Home & Garden sounds so nice. Yes it is so nice re-experiencing all the holidays withe children.
