Thanksgiving Rewind

Happy Monday, friends! How are you all doing in the post Thanksgiving hangover?! It’s always one of my most favorite days of the year and I’m so happy that we were able to celebrate with my family.

Sophia asked for mermaid waves and I have a little crimper that was perfect to use! Honestly, I’m going to have a really hard time with her first hair cut!

Honestly, hosting Thanksgiving is not on my list of things to do, so I’m grateful my sister’s home is always open for this holiday. I bring a couple apps and the main meal is done by the professionals, i.e. my brother-in-law who is not only a master chef, but also a pretty fantastic bartender. I made a super easy app that I saw on Instagram – it was Pillsbury dough croissant, brie and cranberry sauce – baked at 375 for 18 minutes. Delicious and I will be making it again!

I forewarned Gary and Sophia that I needed at least one family picture with everyone looking at the camera and they delivered!! Even Mason understood the assignment 🙂 Will this be in our holiday card this year, absolutely!! I ordered them that night!

Sadly, didn’t get any photos with my mom, but she was there, mostly chasing after Mason!

Mason is pretty much the most delicious little turkey ever…also his sister is too fast and doesn’t stay still for pictures anymore, unless bribed!

We had the absolute best time and I ended the night doing a little holiday shopping…mostly for myself, I know – terrible! The kids are done and I have started for other family members, but I hope to finish everything by the end of the week.

On Saturday, Gary and Sophia got to work to decorate the front yard! We put our tree and decorations up last weekend, still have to do the ornaments, but there is something about a bare tree with lights, that’s really. nice!

On Sunday we hit up one of the many holiday festivals around us. This was actually completely sponsored by local businesses, so everything was free for kids. We had an impromptu visit with Santa, met a few cute characters and had some s’mores.

Long weekends are both fun, a welcome reprieve from the work week, but not a lot of downtime this time of year!

I had a similar Thanksgiving Day weekend. I had family over and also went tree shopping and put up the tree and some decor. Your weekend looked great and so glad you got to do some fun things for kids too!

Thanksgiving is becoming one of my favorite holidays too, and love the family photo! I dropped the ball, and didn’t take any photos on Thanksgiving since I was busy cooking and hosting. Wish I had snapped at least a few! This is my favorite time of year for decorating, and all the holiday fun <3
