Friday Favorites Round-Up

Happy Friday friends!! It's been a really fun week here including a blogger shopping event on Tuesday at Her Closet Boston and then my firm holiday party last night! I'm also off today so getting another long weekend is always a bonus!! I'm linking up with Amanda, Liz and Christina for some favorites!!

Favorite Recipe

Audrey shared this amazing tex-mex pinto bean soup and I all but drooled onto my keyboard when I saw it!!

Favorite Workout

I'm not a "spin" girl by any means - but next Monday I'm trying my first ever Flywheel class and I couldn't be more excited!! Coming from the girl that doesn't know how to ride a real bike, hopefully the stationary ones wont be a problem!! You can check out there locations here and the first class is FREE (at least it is in Boston)!!

Favorite New Color

I know you're probably thinking WHAT?! Pantone announced their 2015 color of the year and get ready to hear a lot of Marsala instead of radiant orchid over the next few months! It's a red-brown hue named for a Sicilian wine. What do you think about it?

Favorite Look

I'm pretty sure the people at Victoria Secret are going to be asking Taylor Swift to model in the show next year instead of performing because girl looks PHENOMENAL!!

  1. That soup looks sooo good. I'm not a fan of that color. I'm a griege kind of girl, but I will add in pops of pretty color. I was thinking that the other day! Taylor should be walking in the show! Lol have a fun weekend! XO

  2. I am actually surprised in that Pantone color for the year. It is similar to radiant orchid, and I was hoping that it be a cool tone color. I have been dying to try Flywheel, and I can't wait to hear all about it. Have a great weekend!

  3. I've never done a Flywheel class but I used to take spinning regularly and while it wasn't my favorite thing it was a good workout! Let me know how you like Flywheel!! And seriously, Taylor really is killing it. I can't even deal with her perfection lately! Hope you have a great weekend love!!

  5. I've thought the same about Taylor Swift! She held her own up there with those models! She's like 5'11" and totally as skinny as any of them! It takes guts to get up there and perform with those beauties walking by you, no matter how good you look!

  9. Oh I looooove spin, I'm even certified to teach! That flywheel class sounds awesome! You'll have to let me know how you like it!
Ah! Carrie Underwood is launching active wear?! I will definitely be jumping on board with that! She can do no wrong in my eyes, ha ha!

  10. I actually think I might make that soup tonight! I don't eat meat, but the soup doesn't really need it so that's easy. I think it was the avocado that sealed the deal :) I've never been to a spin class because I'm a big baby. I like to get my workout on alone so nobody can see how many breaks I take. Probably not the most effective method come to think of it!

  11. spinning is such a great workout!! hurts your crotch though... sometimes it feels like those seats are made out of concrete :(

  12. I used to do spin once a week and it is amazing. It's tough, but man it's a good workout! I'm loving the color of the year! Although I feel like it's very wintery and not sure how it will translate into spring/summer. What are your thoughts? T Swift performing in lingerie - yowza! She looked great! Hope you have a fab weekend lady!

  13. Taylor Swift could DEFINITELY be a VS model!
And wait... you can't ride a real bike???????

  14. So much to comment about in this awesome post! First of all, I'll definitely be making that Tex-Mex soup! I saw the Pantone color of the year yesterday...I actually love it, but I kind of feel like it will only work for fall/winter weddings. T.Swift looks FABULOUS...I mean, smokin' hottttt! And I seriously can't remember the last time I laughed as much as I did while reading through the Basic B**tch post...I had to forward it to my friends! Hope you have a fabulous (long) weekend!

  21. Yep, have to make that soup asap! Especially with this dreary, rainy weather we’re having in St. Louis. Tons of my friends in Atl go to Fly Wheel and are obsessed. I want to try the Fly Barre class!

  23. Love Taylor Swift and she looks beautiful in those pictures. I don't want her walking around in under garments though, she's like my celebrity little sister and too innocent! They opened up a flywheel near my gym. I have never done a spin class, but I'm sure it's fun! :-) The color of the year is pretty and with the right accessories and color pairings it will transfer well into spring and summer. I hope that you have a fabulous weekend lady!! :-)

  24. I've never been to a spin class before, but I'm sure it does some amazing things for your body! Also, talking about working out always leads me to food, and that recipe looks SO YUMMY! Have a great weekend!

T Swizzle does look amazing. Can I be her when I grow up?! Bitch looks good and has catchy songs! It just isn't fair!

I like the new color, it is different! I am sort of wearing it today, so that makes me ahead of the game! For a change...and I did not know Carrie Underwood was launching a work out line?!?! Awesome! Can I buy her legs?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Taylor looks stunning but so thin! I need whatever workout routine she does. That spin class sounds fun (and tough!) The spin classes I have been to have kicked my butt! Have a great weekend!

  32. That bitch in training article is too funny. I still own a ruffled skirt and the tiffany bracelet. Oh how I wish I could do spin but it kicks my ass and the seats are so hard!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. T.Swift looks fab in her red carpet looks. And that 35 basic things is hilarious! Hope you have a great weekend!

  34. bahahahahahhaaha that list is freaking hilarious! You know I had that matching tiffanys set and my hair was always straight as F. Ohhhhh and those ruffle skirts that you could fold over like 18 times. That list was hilarious! I love spin!!! Let me know what you think of Flywheel I heard great things about it! xoxoxo

  35. Happy Friday! Liking the Pantone color. It's a nice blend. OMG, that 35 signs list is hilarious! It's so true, everything on there is dead on. We used to straighten our hair with an actual iron to get it the straightest it could be! Just came across an old jean skirts with tons of rips. Couldn't believe how short it was and that it was actually worn! Have a great weekend :)

  50. I would just like to state, that I was up in Boston/Maine/ New England from Tuesday night thru Thursday morning, and I'm 100% glad to be back in the land of 80 degree weather! Even after growing up, up there, the cold and snow are not my favoritest of things!!!!

Also the 35 signs you were a basic b*tch in training are soooooo true! LOL

  51. I was on the fence at first on Marsala, but it's starting to grow on me! I'm picturing lots of fabulous marsala-esqe nail and lip picks and can totally get on board - haha. And I couldn't agree more with T. Swift - she looks amazing and could totally model in her own right! Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo

  52. I can get on board with marsala as the color of 2015. I was not a fan of radiant orchid, at all. And I'll have to check out those packing tips! Have a wonderful weekend!

  55. Spin can be such a fun workout and an amazing calorie blaster! I had a great studio when I lived in Minneapolis and spun (??) four times a week. I haven't found a good one in Dallas, but if it's a good class, that hour flies by! Have fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think that tex-mex soup deserves an award!

I've been wanting to try a spin class (or any class, really), but I can't find a gym that I love that offers everything I want. I'm the kind of person that if it's not a 5 minute walk away, I'm not going. Shame on me.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I loved the links. Thanks for giving me entertainment during work. Haha :) There is a special place in my heart for miss Swift. I adolize her.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I actually really love that color to be honest! It's earthy and natural and I dig it. And I can't wait to hear what you think of Flywheel! There are two of them near me and a SoulCycle too and I've been hemming and hawing for months trying to decide if I should try it. There's really nothing to lose because the first ride is free, but of course I like to overcomplicate things haha. Hope you have a great weekend!

  70. Oh no she didn't! CU has her own athletic line? I'm in love with her so much that I would buy it JUST because it's hers. Pathetic? Yes. Gonna happen? Yes. =)

I'm interested in what you think about flywheel? I haven't tried that one per se, but I'm not a spinning only kind of girl. I can only sit on that bike for about a half hour and I get bored...unless it's Pedal & Pump...I can get behind arm work and spinning combined.

Hope you had the best week!

  79. Seriously though, Taylor Swift can do no wrong lately. I mean, what the heck is she eating and doing for exercise because can I please look like that lol.
I used to love love love Spin but the gym I go to now doesn't do classes (well, it's $10 a month so can't complain). I wish there was a flywheel near me!

  80. the torqboard was my favorite part of flywheel (you can see how you rank against the rest of the class - and brag if you win), but i think the spin classes at equinox are better.
