Healthy Snacking at Work & Home

healthy snacks


After our little food fiasco this past weekend, I’ve been re-thinking food and what I should be eating! I’ve shared my favorite meals to make at home, but snacking is always the hardest for me especially at work and home!! I’m trying to find more of a balance and expand upon what I already love to snack on and hopefully you’ll share what you eat to get you through the day!! Gone are the days of being able to eat Doritos and feel fulfilled, I need something with some more sustenance! 



Boom Chika Pop Popcorn// If you’re a fan of popcorn, this is one of the best out there and right there on the bag it says there are only 35 calories per cup!! They sell bags with 6 in the bunch and you can easily take them with you to work and or snack on them while watching a movie. 


Hummus with carrots & cucumbers//I usually prepare these a few days in advance so that I can grab them easily on my way out the door! I snack on these around 3:30 PM and it’s the perfect little pick me up before I hit the gym or I’m going to be real with you and I probably didn’t have enough lunch so I’m still hungry!! 


Edamame//This one is probably best eaten at home, since it could get messy!! When I need something salty and healthy I skip the soy sauce and just snack on these! 




Quaker Real Medley// This one is not really a snack, but a really great breakfast option for when you’re on the go! You just add water and it already has the fruit mixed in! 


Chobani Yogurt// When I’m craving something sweet this is the best!! I have to stop myself from eating all four in one sitting, but they are so good!! 


Apples & Peanut Butter// I have a confession to make…I didn’t eat peanut butter until Gary and I got married…just never thought I’d like peanut butter! Now I can’t get enough and it really is one of my favorite snack!! 




While all these look really healthy and they are I will admit I also indulge in goldfish and M&M’s, so those need to be cut back on! So now I want to know what do you snack on!

    Wait I haven't seen the Chobani mint and dark chocolate before! That sounds right up my alley! I like the Boom Chica Pop too! It's light but still has a bit of flavor to it so you don't feel like you're eating air πŸ™‚

    i'll be honest and say that since i stopped eating grains, i'm not as hungry so i don't snack. i eat fruit after my meals but nothing between meals except water.

    These are some of my favorite snack options! I recently found those Sargento cheese and nut snack packs and they are soooo good. I also love strawberries and whipped cream. It makes me feel like I am eating ice cream…sort of. Lol.

    Its like you wrote this for me since I was complaining about snacking yesterday!! πŸ˜‰ Definitely going to have to check out tht popcorn and lately apples and peanut butter have been my go-to. Love all of these suggestions!

    These are literally my favorite snacks too! I'm completely obsessed with avocado, so I've been making an avocado hummus lately that is so delicious! And that Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn is AMAZING — it's hard to believe it's not high in calories!! Happy Wednesday!

    My favorite "snack" lately (which sometimes ends up replacing lunch depending on how busy I am) is hummus with pitas, an orange and a string cheese!!! Love your ideas, friend! I eat the mess out of some edamame! πŸ™‚

    Snacking is definitely my weakness, and since I'm allergic to a lot of raw fruits and veggies it's hard for me to keep it in line. But I loooove me some greek yogurt, I had know idea they had a chocolate mint flavor.. YUM!

    I'm such a snacker! Some of my favorites are Greek yogurt and hummus- though I prefer it with pretzel crisps over veggies, which makes it less healthy- haha. Great list- I've been meaning to try out that popcorn.

    Boom Chicka Pop is one of my favorite snacks! I buy a mix of bags from Costco with Kettle corn too! It's so good!

    Boom Chicka Pop is THE best! I'm always struggling with snacking because I get too hungry and always eat too much. A good snack really is the best, especially if it keeps you full for a long time!

    these are great choices girl! i have baby clementines too for a little snack. but i think i eat all of these too πŸ™‚ also cucumbers with lemon pepper. i sprinkle on each one so i slow down with my food bc i'm bad about shoveling it in haha

    I need that popcorn! I don't think I've seen it in stores around here unless I'm not looking hard enough? Greek yogurt is my absolute favorite I eat it every single day!

    I've been in the same boat lately trying to up my snack game! Honestly, my healthy go to is a sliced cucumber. No joke – I'll eat one entirely in just a sitting! Good thing we can't get enough veggies. πŸ™‚

    I've got a bag of Boom Chicka Pop Sea Salt & Vinegar in my desk drawer now, definitely one of my favorite snacks! I sit at a desk all day and do a lot of mindless eating so I make sure to bring mostly healthy stuff like fruits, veggies, pretzels & popcorn to keep on track!

    My manager brought that popcorn in for us to snack on..Oh my gosh it's SO good! That yogurt sounds good too. I also can't believe you never had peanut butter until after you got married!! Try the Trader Joe's peanut butter. It's delicious and the only kind that I buy now. I hope that you have a lovely day too!! πŸ™‚

    these are all such great ideas.. to be honest, i am a horrible snacker so i just try and avoid it in general! like with the carrots and hummus? i'll eat the whole container haha. i don't snack when i'm hungry, i just snack to snack, therefore i don't stop when i'm full because i wasn't hungry to begin with. lol. no wonder the scale keeps going up πŸ˜‰

    Mint and dark chocolate yogurt? Sign me up. Can't believe I've never seen that before, maybe I need to spend a little more time in the yogurt aisle. I was just thinking about this yesterday, I was hungry at work and realized that cookies were not going to make me feel any better. Baby carrots are probably my favorite healthy snack. I love making a cucumber yogurt sauce (have I said the word yogurt enough in this comment?) and dipping them in it. It's the perfect summery snack.

    You should also try the 'Thats It' bars. They're amaaaaazing and usually only contain 2 ingredients which is always dried fruit! I'm obsessed with them!

    I find that I don't snack as much when I have a balanced breakfast and lunch. If not than I am hungry all the time, especially being pregnant! My go to snacks are fruit, almonds, carrot sticks, and yogurt. I definitely steal some goldfish crackers from little man though πŸ˜‰ Winks and Eyerolls

    Carrots and hummus has been my only go-to snack for years! To be fair, I'm not a snacker…Just be sure not to eat too much hummus because there's a ton of calories in it. Good calories, but still cals!

    Great snacks. I usually snack on Skinny Pop Popcorn or almonds. I always try to keep a pack of almonds in my purse.

    These are such great ideas–I am a terrible snacker–like I tend to go for the swedish fish or a giant cookie ha! I like these healthy but yummy alternatives πŸ™‚

    Love your choices! I've been wanting to try Boom Chicka Pop-glad you like it! I love sea salt everything, so that flavor sounds amazing. I love have edamame at home for a snack…and I have also gotten into snacking on snap peas lately!

    At work typical snacks are veggies with hummus, apples & pb, bananas, berries, sliced oranges, greek yogurt, goldfish.

    At home the same plus pickles, grapefruit, bananas with nutella, and green olives.

    I could talk food all day!!! Especially healthy food! My go to are apple and homemade almond butter. I also eat organic buckwheat and almonds a lot! Basically I love nuts!!!!!

    Edamame, apples and almond butter and veggies with hummus are lunch staples for me lately. I don't really snack at my desk because I sit out in cube world and it is dead silent so I am afraid of people hearing me crunch lol. But at home I snack on almonds or peanuts, celery and peanut butter, goat cheese and cranberry crisps, plums, and I really love Quest bars. I also like to cut up fresh pineapple and rinse grapes and have them with a fruit dip I make using lite cool whip, sugar free lemon or lime jello powder and some of the juice from the pineapple. I just mix that stuff up inside the cool whip tub and keep it in the fridge all week.

    I love apples but I use almond or cashew butter. Greek Yogurt is a favorite of mine too. I will have grapefruit too, and almonds.

    These are all great options! I love veggies and hummus and apple slices with peanut butter is sooo good! I'm also a big fan of Kashi granola bars especially the cherry and dark chocolate and have you tried Pop Chips? Or Veggie Straws? Both are non-GMO and you can probably find them at Target πŸ™‚

    I'm pretty good at snacking at work because I make sure to only bring healthy stuff to I don't really have an option! I drink lemon water all day and have an apple in the afternoon. At home is another story. It's hard to say no to those yummy post-dinner snacks that are calling my name! These are great suggestions, Biana!

    Oh popcorn, you are really the best of food. I love that my local gas station sells this brand. Seriously so addicting. I can't ever buy more than one bag otherwise the 35 calorie thing means nothing. (;

    Snacks kill me too! Ive been making effort to read labels for years now to actually see the nutrional info, if im buying something processed like chips or crackers. Cheese and crackers are my weakness, but my healthy ones are cucumbers and sriracha, pickled spicy asparagus, avocado pudding, frozen blueberries, or edamame with crushed garlic and hot sauce

    I love hummus but don't eat it too much anymore since it's not Paleo but def worth the splurge and it's still very healthy for a "dip". My grocery store makes a Cilantro Lime version and I can eat the whole tub lol. I am a nut butter addict, not peanuts but all of the others are my go to snack foods especially with any fruit!

    I take hummus and veggies to work every single day, I'm obsessed! My favorite is the roasted pine nut, so yummy. PB and apple is also my favorite. I could eat PB with a spoon, I'm addicted!

    I'm glad to hear you are feeling better Biana (: I usually stay up pretty late (studying), and I eat a ton of snacks – mostly fruits and veggies. I really like getting pre-prepared/washed/cut lettuce, green/red/orange peppers, and carrots. I often eat 1 grapefruit/day, a box of strawberries every 2 days, 1-2 kiwis/a day, a banana/a day, an avocado/a day. I'm telling you – I basically eat for like 24 hours a day πŸ˜€

    I just recently discovered Boom Chicka Pop and it's so good! I guess it doesn't really help eating the whole bag in a day though! Peanut butter is our go to…we put it on everything! Apples, bananas, Vanilla Wafers! I'll have to check out that greek yogurt!
