Recent Makeup and Skincare Favorites

Recently I have been all about trying out some new beauty related products. I will always have my holy grail makeup items, but it's always fun to mix it up. Wanted to share some of my recent finds and also a few things I'm getting from the Sephora Beauty Insider sale going on right now.
  • Glossier opened up a pop up in the city and last week I went to get a few must haves with my sister. I've wanted to try the brand for a few years now & I can absolutely see what all the hype is about. As someone who hates doing my eyebrows, the boy brow is truly a miracle product - just swipe and go! I picked up cloud paint - a cheek stain and as someone that has never used a liquid blush before, I'm converted. I use the color "dawn" and it's buildable to give the best "just got back from the beach look." I also picked up the mascara, but it's not my favorite.
  • After years of wanting to try the YSL touche Eclat brightening pen, I finally gave it a go and really like the coverage. It's not heavy or cakey and the brush applicator makes it easy to get just the right amount of product. It's definitely a splurge item, but one of those higher end makeup products that is worth the hype. If you've been thinking about trying it, nows the time with the sale!
  • The Urban Decay Reloaded palette is such a hit for me. The colors are so pigmented, give you a great range of eye shadow looks you can create and they made the base shades bigger than the rest of the colors since those are the ones you use most often! My most used colors are "Retro" "Distilled" and "Boundaries" right now.
  • For the last three months I've been testing out a few of the skincare products from Lexli that I was sent. I was nursing at the time when I first started using them so the all natural aspect is what really sold me. The luxurious night moisturizer is creamy and rich - but not oily. I have used it nightly for the last few months and haven't seen any irritation or breakouts. I have found that my skin is smoother and softer! The cleansing lotion was another winner - the aloe vera based cleanser leaves my skin feeling very refreshed!
  • As much as I love the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, I think it's time to step away at least for one tube and try another CC Cream / Foundation. I am getting the Peach Perfect by Too Faced since I've heard great things, like it's transfer resistant and lightweight so even though it's a foundation, it doesn't feel heavy!
  • What truly always gets me are the mini sizes of so many great products at the check out aisle! I'll be getting the Summer Friday's jet lag mask (my HG moisturizer) once again!
  • My newest lip craze are the revlon cushion lip tints! It's a fun way to add a punch of color on the less heavy makeup days and also bring out those summer tans! I have worn the "coral" shade for a few weeks and always get a few comments on the happy bright color!
Anything on your beauty wish list right now?

  1. The jet lag mask is one of my favorites! I love that you don't have to wash the mask off, too. So easy! I really want to try the other masks from Summer Friday -- such a great brand!

  7. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about Glossier's Boy Brow product - I need to add it to my stash ASAP! Also love how UD make some of the most-used shadow shades bigger than others. Such a good idea!

  9. My skin is horribly dry all the time and I've been looking to switch creams at nighttime. I might have to try this kind since it's rich! That's exactly what I need!

  16. I love the sound of that foundation, particularly that it's said to be transfer resistant! I always feel so embarrassed and self conscious when I got hug or kiss someone wearing white because I've had some experiences of me leaving makeup on them and you just feel terrible, lol. I've yet to try Glossier, but have heard so much about it, too. I'm glad you like them; I'll have to check them out. I hope you're having a great week, my friend!

  20. I haven't heard of Lexli, I will have to check it out! I have the peach foundation, and really like the coverage, but there isn't a color that is perfect for me. I had to blend it with something else. That revlon lip pen is fun!
