This & That – Weekend Edition

Happy Monday, friends! How was the fall weekend for you? With every day really meshing into the next, it’s nice to have the weekends to do things with Sophia without constantly looking at our laptops for work!

Saturday we took Sophia to the Stone Zoo for the first time. It’s a little smaller than Franklin Park Zoo and they have different animals which is always fun – but I think Sophia was more excited about the chipmunks that we see every day more than the flamingo’s, bears and reindeer! Note to self – save the $60 and just go to the park near our house!

This random picture Gary took is actually one of my favorites because it shows me exactly what parenthood means – kids leading the charge and us right behind, sometimes holding their hands, just in case they fall.

Gary & I had a day date on Sunday after dropping Sophia off with my parents. We went to the Seaport and enjoyed some drinks and food outside at Cisco Brewery which is an outdoor event space. We figured that the nice weather days will soon come to an end with winter approaching -may as well enjoy them now!

We also did a bit of tv watching this weekend – Emily in Paris is just too cute to watch. I actually want to rewatch the entire season again. Then we started two new shows on Apple TV+ – Tehran which reminds me of Homeland & Jack Ryan then Ted Lasso which is the underdog win. It’s about a US football coach moving to the UK to coach a soccer team. It’s a comedy that actually had me laughing so hard I cried!

Leisurely stroll to do some shopping at an outdoor mall – yes please! We’re also extending the weekend by one more day and taking in some fall foliage up in New Hampshire!

Your pictures make me miss my hometown zoo! I used to go frequently because it’s free, so I have a hard time forking over $50 now to go here in Phoenix. Looks like y’all had a great weekend. xo

Is that cinnamon in your drink/beer? Whatever it is, I bet it tastes like fall 😉

I was just telling Kevin that I want to take a drive to the East Coast to see the fall foliage. After all our travels out west this summer, that will have to wait till next year. So glad you got an outdoor day date, I remember how nice the weather was when I visited around this time a few years ago. Such cute photos at the zoo! Have a great week!

That’s awesome that the zoo is open near you! I’m not sure if any of our attractions like that are. It looks like such a fun place! Lol, at the chipmunks! Eddie took off on Saturday so we could all attend an annual festival our town has, but it was a total bust, as it just wasn’t the same. There was no real way of improvising given the circumstances without changing the whole vibe 🙁 We did make the best of the weekend though and did some other things. I hope you have a great start to the week, girlie!

What fun at the zoo, but I get that spending $60 is tough especially when the park has Sophia’s heart. My girls were like that, but are starting to enjoy the park now. I need to get some leopard shoes and recreate the last picture. You look amazing.

What a fun weekend! We haven’t been to the zoo in awhile and my son would love an adventure like that. Date night also sounds fantastic! So glad you and your hubby were able to take some time to catch a breath. Isn’t this year weird in the way that it flies by so fast even though we spend a lot of it at home? PS did you save me a slice of pizza??! Yum!

I have heard a lot of people mention Emily in Paris this week. I have to laugh about liking the chipmunks more than the animals that are purposefully at the zoo, sounds about right. Sounds like you guys got a good day date in!
