October Through the Camera Roll

Happy Monday, friends! Between Day Light Savings, Halloween and a full on snow day on Friday – oh and I also fell flat on my back after slipping on black ice on Saturday, I need a very large cup of coffee! These have become some of my favorite posts to share because it’s just a nice look through the past month of things that may not have made it to the blog.

We started the month with a trip to the Stone Zoo. A little smaller than the Franklin Park Zoo, but this one had a bear!

We took a day off work and ventured up to the White Mountains to do a little leaf peeping!

Sophia was getting a little bored with our menu at home, so we have been trying out Little Spoon Plates for their toddler meals. Some are win’s like these turkey meatballs and others are misses which is just the life of feeding a toddler! We were also getting a little tired of our takeout options, so we started Home Chef and have been loving all the meals we’ve created over the last month.

We met up with our friends for a socially distant picnic & flew some kites!

Someone got into my lipstick (again) and then enjoyed a few mini ice creams after dinner!

Another trip to the Pumpkin Farm was a must! I also found the best stoop in all of Beacon Hill!

After many months of not seeing one another, we finally met up with Jackie and the littlest member of the crew for a socially distant visit in their driveway!

Gary & I had a little day date at La Fina where the food was delicious and we got to experience a little taste of what it would be like living in the suburbs!

We ended the month with a good old fashioned snow!! If you’re in the market for kids snow clothes – Target has some great options. I bought Sophia these full on snow pants and parka and both came in so handy!

Thankfully it all melted just in time for Halloween and our scavenger hunt! This Elsa costume was the best investment – she’s worn it so many times already! We made individual bags for the kids with treats & little gifts at the last stop! Sophia is still so young she doesn’t understand the concept of getting candy, but hopefully next year she’ll be able to trick-or-treat!

Looking back it was a really good month, but as we get into November I can’t help but feel a little nervous if we’re going to go into another lockdown since that’s how Europe is trending and what that could mean for the holidays and winter. We voted early, but if you’re voting tomorrow in person, I hope you stay safe!

Patrick was obsessed with Halloween this year. Last year he only made a few houses and called it. I hope y’all don’t have another lockdown 🙁 These are great post topics so nice to see little tidbits of the whole month and this is the prettiest time of year up there!

Yikes! I’m sorry you slipped and fell. I can’t believe you all got snow already. That hasn’t happened here in years and I hope it kind of holds off for a bit. I love how much fun you got into in October. I can’t wait to see your adventures for this month! xo

Sophia is just precious! Gosh, I can’t believe how big she’s getting and how long her hair is getting, too! I love that y’all got snow already. Olivia has been DYING for snow the last couple of years so I’m hoping we finally get some this year. We don’t get it but every 3-4 years, but we’re about due!

Snow!!! Gah! And ours all melted. We have 60s for the week ahead and we plan to enjoy it. Cold will be coming back over the weekend. Love Sophia’s Halloween costume!!!

LOVE her costume, but still can’t believe the snow right before Halloween! And oh yes – the makeup saga. Serena has been going through my makeup and hair stuff as well. We found a great “play makeup” vanity set by Melissa & Doug that Santa will be giving her for Christmas <3

Glad you didnt hurt yourself sliding. That’s why I hate ice & winter – I tend to fall any slick spot that exists.
Sophia looks SO GROWN with those mickey ears on & in her Elsa dress.
Love a good social distance meet up.

I hope you are feeling better after that fall! I cant believe so many people have seen snow already this year! It has gotten chilly down here, we were in the mid 30’s the last two nights! Crazy! I too am worried about another lockdown coming our way. I am so ready for all of this to be over. We haven’t been anywhere is so long. I hate that we keep saying things like “when things get back to somewhat normal we can xyz.” ugh.

What a fun blog post! I love looking through snapshots of months and was considering doing this for my blog as I don’t post often. It’s like a buffet of goodness and that’s totally needed these days. I am so glad to hear that you were able to see your friend and her kid. It’s really quite rough not being able to socialize so any chance at being able to do that is definitely a plus. My son is a picky eater too and loves meatballs. I need to check out Home Chef and see if it can work for us. I am so tired of cooking that I just simply make the same things. I know so bad. 🙁 I hope your back is okay and happy Wednesday!
