Happy Wednesday, friends. How was the long weekend for you? While it was nice to have an extra day off, during these times it’s just a little wild to not really be able to go anywhere and have to be extra creative in the winter. We did make it fun on Valentine’s Day with an impromptu trip to the zoo which we all enjoyed. I wish I could say I’ve been reading a ton, but only a few great reads and listens via audible to share today!

This Time Next Year || Minnie Cooper, yep her parents really did that to her, was born on New Years Day and ever since, the first day of the year has always been pretty crappy, so much so she actually does everything in her power to avoid celebrating. Quinn was also born on New Years Day and his life could not be more different. What Quinn and Minnie don’t realize is that their stories are really intertwined in crazy ways. Even though this was a light hearted read, the characters had flaws and intricacies that gave them more depth. Would definitely recommend!

Mother Knows Best || This was a crazy book! A mother’s worst nightmare is passing on a genetic mutation to their child and Claire will stop at nothing to make sure that doesn’t happen again. When she hears about an illegal experiment, she jumps at the chance but after unforeseen circumstances, she flees with her doctor. Ten years later, her daughter starts to question things and that’s when the wrong people start to come back. I LOVED this thriller. I thought it was engaging and kept me guessing until the end. Hard to pick out the villain in this book because there could be a few, but this was one I couldn’t stop thinking about.

After the Fairy Tale || This was free with Audible membership. I wouldn’t actually say this is a “book” it was more like listening to a play. Each character has a different voice which helped you follow along with who was who. If you’re a fan of the bachelor, then you’ll enjoy this. It’s basically what happens when the winner is already chosen but all the contestants have to stay quiet about the outcome. Amanda heads back home after her stint on the show and no one knows how far she’s made it, especially her former high school friend Josh. Quick and fun to listen to!

Only When It’s Us (Kindle Unlimited) || Even though this frenemies to lovers book has the makings of fluff, there is a lot of depth to it and reminds me a lot of Taylor Jenkins Reid or even Colleen Hoover with some of the writing. Ryder and Willa have a lot in common, if only they would see past their disdain for one another. There was some sadness in the book, but with fun banter and some tension, it was a really enjoyable read!

Right now I’m listening to Never Let You Go and loving it. What are you reading to right now?

WAs Mother Knows Best made into a movie or a tv show? The premise sounds familiar. I will have to add it to my list.
