Spring in Boston

One of the most special times in Boston is when the tulips are in bloom in the Public Garden. The vibrant colors, the views of the city and just the promise of nice weather – it is really so special. We spent the morning chasing squirrels, smelling all the tulips and hugging the ducks a couple weekends ago and I wanted to share the photos. I read an article that over 27,000 bulbs are planted each November – so you can only imagine how lush everything is when in bloom.

One of the most famous parts of the Public Garden are the “Make Way for Ducklings” statues that have been a fixture in the park for 30 years. If you’ve ever read the book, then you know the story of the mama duck choosing the park as the home for her ducklings and teaching them how to survive the busy streets of Boston. Each holiday, season & even major sporting event, the ducks are dressed up and children from all over the world come to take pictures with them. It’s so fun that they are so close to home for us!

You can really spend the entire day in the park if you want, bring a blanket for a picnic or walk down Charles Street to grab a coffee and something to eat – it’s my favorite spot in all of Boston!

If you ever find yourself in Boston in the Spring, add this as your MUST see of the trip!

Those tulips are so pretty! Oddly enough I haven’t been to Boston since I was in like.. middle school. One of my good high school friends lives in a Boston suburb so my goal is to take a weekend trip one day!
