Strawberry Fields Forever

Happy Monday, friends! We knocked one of our summer items off the list this past weekend and attended Strawberry Fest at Smolak Farms. They run this two weekends in June and Saturday was the first day! You can visit the farm and pick your own strawberries anytime, but we wanted to do a little bit more with Sophia.

Don’t mind that Gary’s nails are painted blue courtesy of Sophia #girldad

For $20, you get a donut, 1/2 a pint of strawberries, a hayride and a little goody bag at one of the stops! Adults pay $7 to accompany the kids on the hayride!

The field of hearts is the first stop on the hayride and there are over 1,000 of them! If you don’t go the route of the hayride, then there is a $2 fee to take photos in the field and this month it will all be donated to a local charity for Pride Month! Love the philanthropic effort the farm is having!

Second stop – meet The Beatles! Play a little ring toss & get your goody bag! A little mask update – while you don’t have to wear a mask anywhere on the farm, they are required on the hayride!

The final stop is the strawberry field! I’m pretty sure Sophia ate more strawberries in this span of time than she has in the last month! They were so fresh and delicious – I don’t blame her!

Among other things, there is a cute little farm area that has peacocks, goats, deer, llama’s with other animals! It was such a fun way to spend our morning! We’ll be back for Fall Fest (not sure if that’s a thing) but we’ll be back for apple and pumpkin picking!

Are you planning on going strawberry picking this season?

SO fun!!! We have a strawberry field in our town and while I’ve never picked my own strawberries, I’m there every Saturday buying fresh strawberries while they are in season. I love fresh strawberries! This strawberry farm looks super cute!

What a fun trip!!! I would be eating all the strawberries as well. We have a blueberry farm near our house that is opening up in a week or two, but I am afraid it is going to be too hot to enjoy if the weather stays like it is.

At first I was like SAY WHAT? They charge for pics there… but I’m ok with it if they’re donating it.
    Love strawberry season!!!
