October | How do you do?

It feels like just yesterday I was sitting down to figure out what I wanted to accomplish in September and now here we are at the start of October doing it all over again. I really liked being able to see what I was focusing on and actually getting things accomplished! So let's see how I did in September!

1// Attend 3-4 bar method classes per week! Pass!! I attended 3 classes week 1,3, & 4 and week 2 & week 5 (this week) totaling 4. I plan on doing a full post comparing Pure Barre & Bar Method, so stay tuned for that!

2// Print out and organize our honeymoon & Euro trip photos. Half Pass...I finished our honeymoon photos and plan on ordering our Paris & London photos in the next few weeks!! I will say looking through our photos has been so much fun!

3// Drink more water. Half Pass...I started drinking more water throughout the day, but still don't feel like I drink enough. I've added lemon and other things to try to add a little flavor, but still stuck with about 60 oz of water each day.

4// Find a new nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. Pass! Glad to check this one off the list and you can read about my find here

5// Finish the bar cart. Pass! If it feels like I've been talking about this for month's that because I have. We (mostly Gary since he put it together) finished the cart at the start of the month and have just been adding little touches to it when I find something cute that would go well with it.

Paper Straws via Pier One
If you're interested in a more detailed post about putting it together/materials used, I'd be happy to do that!! If you're not but still want to attempt this on your own - we used this DIY link and ordered all the materials in Chrome instead of Gold.

Now onto my October Goals!!
1// Clean and sell my wedding dress. I'm so embarrassed that a year and half later I still haven't done anything with my wedding dress. It was hanging at my sister's house and I finally made it a point to bring it to our house so that I could sell it!! If any of you have tips on how you sold your dress, I'd love to hear it!

Gone Girl
2// Read a book. Since my commute to work has gotten shorter, I've really struggled with getting any books read. Even though I may be the last person on the planet to read this book, I'm not allowed to see the movie until this happens. Also, if you have any book recommendations, let me know!!

{via}
3// Do one fashion post or one vlog...bonus points if both are done! It's been on my blog to-do list for quite some time and I am really excited to take myself out of my writing comfort zone.

4// I've already shared my Fall Bucket List and can already knock making an Apple Pie off that one! Hopefully we're going to make a big dent in our Fall To-do's in the month of October.

5//Keep the little purchases in check. What I'm really guilty of is going into CVS and getting a nail polish just because or another mascara for no reason. This month there will be none of that! I'm pretty good about not spending money on little things, but I think doing this for 5 weeks will leave me with a little more to spend on stuff I actually want!

I'm still going to work on drinking more water - this will probably be a monthly battle! Do you have anything on your October goal list?

  2. Yay!!! Congrats on passing most of your September goals! I need to drink more water too... I'm so bad about that. You definitely need to read Gone Girl... it's crazy! From the previews the movie looks really good but I'm curious how it will actually be. And I'm SO excited you're going to start doing a fashion post/vlog monthly! Yay! Um, your hair is even prettier than Rach's and she (usually) has extensions in to make hers look that good! Now I need to make an October goal list!

  5. Congratulations on meeting most of your goals! I love this idea, it's a great way to keep yourself accountable for what you want to achieve. And Gone Girl is so good! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the movie soon.

  6. Congrats! I need to sit down and set some goals for the month. I tend to just jot down way too many things and make lists and it just gets overwhelming. Your selling your dress!? My mom won't let me lol! I thought of actually donating it , but she protested what if you have a daughter? Which now I do, but I highly doubt she will want to wear my dress and not choose her own. I do like the idea of incorporating a piece of the gown into a new one though so I'm torn about selling it. XO

  7. if you think what you didn't do with your dress is bad: i hung my wedding dress in my closet after my wedding saying that i'd dry clean it and package it up......it's STILL in there TEN YEARS LATER LOLOLOLOLOL. i'm even afraid to open that side of the closet because it's probably turned into a potato sack by now!

  9. Great job on your goals!! I can't believe you're going to sell that beautiful gown! Mine has been hanging at my moms for 3 years and I wish I had a reason to put it on again! Lol! Good luck with all of your October goals girlfriend!

  10. How fun! Good for you for almost accomplishing all your goals - I'm jealous! Your bar cart seriously looks awesome. I can't believe you're going to sell your wedding dress - I admire you for that! I know it just hangs there, but I don't think I could ever part with mine. I'm hoping someday in my dream home I can display it somehow in my closet/getting ready room. :)

  12. You're not the last one to read Gone Girl, I just bought it on Monday and can't wait to start reading! But finding the time is definitely always a struggle. AND I just brought my wedding dress home from my families house over the weekend and still need to get it cleaned/preserved, etc... guess we have a lot of the same October goals, haha!

  15. Ummm... It's been 4 and 1/2 years and I still haven't cleaned or done anything with my wedding dress *hides in the corner in shame*. I need to get on that!

I've been wondering what's the difference between all the barre classes. I've been going to Barre3, and there's a Barre Method downstairs from my job I've been wanting to check out.

  20. Nice work lady! :-) Those photo books take a long time. My dad spends months working on them. That bar card is so cute too! I want to read Gone Girl and then see the movie. You should definitely do a fashion post every week too! I love reading other people's fashion posts and its fun. :-) I just dry cleaned my wedding dress and now it's hanging in my closet. I never thought about selling it though. I hope that you are having a great day so far!!

I may have to borrow this idea for October...I need to set some non-professional goals and stick to them!

  27. So crazy, just yesterday I was thinking about how I should look into selling my wedding dress too! I haven't cleaned or done anything to it since the wedding either so don't feel bad! (Your dress is STUNNING though) I LOVE how the bar car turned out- and the prints you have above them! I'm excited for your post on the different barre classes, as I'm still undecided between the two!

  28. um yeah my wedding dress is in a closet and the bottom is filthy. oops. year and a half as well. i have no idea about selling it, i am not even sure if i could because my mother in law paid for it.... your bar cart is so cute, love it. i definitely need to get on my photos and printing them, so far behind. I am fine with my water consumption during the week but the weekends i dont drink as much so I need to get better at that!

  29. I need to sell my wedding dress too. 2.5 years later it's still in my closet but I did manage to get it cleaned and preserved like a year. Your wedding dress is gorgeous btw!

  30. Great job on your September goals!! You accomplished quite alot. So fab.
Love the Bar Cart. You have inspired me to write my own list of goals for October. I so want to see Gone Girl, it looks so good. I have not read the book. I don't know if I should read the book before I see the movie or not. What are your thoughts? Happy Hump Day.

  31. Love the bar cart and YES please do a DIY post about it! The water thing is hard but I used the Waterlogged App to get me started. It was like a little game to set a daily goal for myself to try and reach. Now I drink it all of the time!

  38. Yay for the goals -- and bar cart looks absolutely amazing! Drinking more water is on my list as well -- just so hard to do, sometimes! Some girls from my office are all going to see Gone Girl next Tuesday and I'm trying to decide if I can fit in reading the book before then! I may have to try! xo

  40. I love the bar cart! It's so cute. My wedding dress is still in my closet (it has been at least cleaned!), but yea I don't really know what else to do with it?!

  41. 60 ounces of water a day is pretty good, I'd consider that one a full pass. I haven't read Gone Girl either but now that the movie is coming out I feel like I have to.

  42. Your bar cart turned out amazing - great job! And you're not the very last person to read Gone Girl since I haven't read yet either! But I'm also not allowing myself to see the movie until I read it, so hopefully I can finally find the time to read it since the movie looks sooo good!

  43. The bar cart looks awesome! I like your list for October too - I need to put them on my list. :) I still haven't done anything with my dress either! I have not read Gone Girl, but I'm dying to see the movie. It looks so good!

  44. You're going to love Gone Girl! Don't be embarrassed about your dress- my wedding was in 2007 and I've gotten divorced since... and it is still in my mom's closet!

  45. September sounds pretty successful to me (especially that bar cart!). And lady, you MUST catch up on Gone Girl - it'll be a quick read!

  46. You did really well on all your goals. Looking forward to a fashion post, you always look so put together. The bar cart came out great and much better in chrome.

  47. I'd say your September was a success! :) Totally impressed with how many bar classes you attended...of course this is coming from someone who doesn't work out...but still, kudos to you!

  48. Oh girl, I've been married for a good while and my beautiful, custom Amsale dress is currently sitting in our guest bedroom closet, wrinkled and dirty. I want to get it preserved, but had some sticker shock when I was researching it after our wedding! One day... One day. Moral of the story, don't feel guilty about your dress! :)

  49. Good job on your Sept goals and your bar cart looks great! A vlog is something I've wanted to do too, for some reason I'm terrified haha!

  50. love that bar cart! can you please come organize and decorate my house for me!! Also- I'm working my way through Amazon's list of 100 books to read in a lifetime, lots of good recs (:

  51. Hey, you're doing really well with goals so I'm impressed! I keep a huge Tervis with lid and straw at my desk and fill it all day with water. Something about the straw makes it easier for me to drink a lot of water throughout the day. And then I'm hydrated when it's time to go home to my own bar cart ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have this same post for tomorrow. I'm with you on the small purchases, and so love the way your bar cart came out!! Great job!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Congrats and striking stuff off the list! I can't wait to read your comparisons of the two different barre classes. For hydration I keep a Tervis Tumbler on my desk (or my 33oz Camelbak on barre days) and I log it all in Waterlogged. I tend to think I drank a lot more than I do, so the actual accountability/number is nice to see.

  54. Biana!!! Sorry I've been MIA!!! I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things soon! So many things to say about this post :) I hear ya about the photos! I still want to print out our wedding photos and now that I have the Hawaii photos, I need to go through those. It took me hours last night just to get them onto my computer.

Your bar cart is awesome! Great job!!

I sold my wedding dress on preownedweddingdresses.com and it was so easy! I think it's just like a $25 fee and the buyers are serious....mine was at least and a delight to work with. It was fun seeing photos of her wedding too!

Definitely read Gone Girl. I'm so so ready for the movie to come out!! :) Have a great week, friend!!

  57. Nice job with the bar cart! And I vote YES to the vlog!! :)
Would you consider doing a post on selling your wedding dress? (it's gorgeous, by the way!) I'm just interested because I've never known a bride who hasn't kept her dress, and I'm not married or planning to ever have a traditional wedding dress so my opinion probably is way skewed haha. Anyway I'd just be interested to hear about it :) just a thought! Good luck with your October goals!

  58. I am interested in reading your post about Pure Barre vs Bar Method! Your cart turned out awesome!

I have Gone Girll on my list to read, I haven't gotten around to it yet. I have been reading the Stephanie Plum series and enjoying it. There are 21 books though, so it is a big undertaking. I would recommend Attachments. It was a light easy read, but very enjoyable.

Your wedding dress is beautiful! Mine is hanging in our guest bedroom closet. Hasn't been cleaned or had anything done to it since I got married almost two years ago. Oops!

  59. Love these goals! Looks like you were successful! It's been 4 years since my wedding and I haven't done anything with my dress. On our year anniversary we did a "trash the dress" photo shoot so I didn't want to clean it before, but sadly I didn't clean it afterwards either. Don't feel bad girl! I loved Gone Girl, hated the ending. Looking forward to the movie! I have PLENTY of book recco's for you. I also use this free app called "Water Logged" to log how much water I drink every day and I love it! It's super easy to use and I use it every day!
    Great post girl!

I have really been struggling with the small purchases too. I walk into Target, spend 30.00 bucks a few times a month, and that really adds up. I need to work on that!

  62. Good job on your September goals!! Do you like seltzer water? That helps me with my water drinking a lot. Since it's fizzy and comes out of a can it kind of tricks me into thinking it's a soda but I get some more water. Gone Girl is so good- you will love it!
