Weekending + A Giveaway

Happy Monday friends! When your days are packed with holiday shopping and you have cozy nights at home - I'd say that equals a pretty perfect weekend!

We had an impromptu night out with Jackie on Friday and checked out Basho in the Fenway area.
Boston Basho Japanese Restaurant

Boston Basho Japanese Restaurant
The seafood salad and braised pork belly steamed buns were delicious, but the sushi left a bit to be desired - I'll stick to my tried and true favorite next time!! But it was a great excuse to check out the new Sephora that just recently opened in the area and during the sale no less! Scooped up some more goodies from my list

We spent the morning running errands, taking photos (stay tuned for the post this week) and enjoying the crisp day! We finally picked up our framed Ketubah and I can't wait to show you how it looks in our bedroom! I haven't forgotten about a house tour - just finalizing some pieces and waiting for a few more things to come in!!

We did something completely different on Saturday afternoon and hit up The Ring Boxing Club for a fun and tough workout! Gary has been wanting to try it out and I'm not going to pass up an opportunity for a intense and fun workout - so we went for their free trial! They actually let you try the gym and any of the classes for one week - I would have gone on Sunday, but I was so sore I could barely move - SUCCESS!
That night I put my chef hat on and decided to get fancy for dinner! Totally kidding - this right here is all courtesy of Trader Joe's and their amazing ability to make us all feel like Julia Child! This truffle parm dipping oil is amazing and a great compliment to the mussels! I made them once before - see the full post here. We got hooked on The Crown on Netflix - if you're not watching it but a fan of anything having to do with the Royal Family or Downton Abbey - then it's for you!
Wrapped up the weekend quite literally! We made a big dent in our holiday shopping this weekend and I got a jump start on the wrapping and of course couldn't pass up the cute paper at Home Goods!

  7. What a fun weekend with some great food!! I will have to try out the TJ mussels. I usually make them (super easy), but they haven't been as fresh and I would like, so these may be a great alternative. Thanks for sharing!

  17. What a fun weekend! Some holiday shopping happened for me on Friday and I still have lots more to do! Your food Friday night sounds good, though I am like you and am very picky with sushi and cant eat it just anywhere. The boxing gym sounds so fun! I love places that will let you try them out first. They are always the good places that know they have you hooked. Hope you have a great week!

  26. Sounds like it was a great weekend. I too got hooked on The Crown this weekend. What a fab show!!! Great job on getting started on your holiday gifts, I haven't even started. Thankfully, I don't have too many people to buy for so it shouldn't be too bad. haha Happy Monday!! Hope you get out today and enjoy the weather. 60's in November is such a blessing for us.

  32. It looks like you had a wonderful weekend, girlie! I've never taken a boxing class, but had always wanted to. I guess I never followed through because for some reason, I don't like group classes; I kind of like to do my own thing at my own pace, but this is something I think I'd someday make an exception for, it really does look like so much fun and I love that both you and Gary took a class together! I'll have to convince Eddie! We tried a new to us spot by where we live to and it was such a disappointment. They don't happen too often, but when they do, I always think, we should've gone to our regular spot, haha, but there's really only one way of finding another great spot and that's trying, right!? Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the most amazing start to your week!

I did try one at a catered event and loved the concept. I miss working close to a Trader Joe's because I'd be so inspired by their ever-changing seasonal items to whip up something new at home.
